  1. In my automotive dream world, all cars are fastbacks. I hate notchbacks in general.
  2. It appears to be broken.
  3. Oh, this makes my heart sink. I utterly failed to go to the Packard Museum last Summer, so I must go there and take many pictures (which they graciously encourage) to counter this rending display. A couple years ago I heard a talk from a GM designer who worked on the '90s Riviera. He showed a picture of one crushed in a junkyard and jokingly quipped to the effect of "this is how you know you've been a successful designer."
  4. I need to rebuild my driving playlist, even though I never listen to it while driving. Al Di Meola - All of Tour de Force - Live except for Nena Stef Burns - Walking the Penguin Dayjob Orchestra - Wednesday, Playing Dumb (this version specifically)Yes - Sound Chaser to name a few.
  5. Happy belated BV.
  6. Cutest snowmobile ever.
  7. Slab-sided and cheap compared to what? They're vans for Pete's sake. It's not like American vans look like sports cars by comparison.
  8. I never understood why everyone went ga-ga over the Interceptor. I find it pretty meh style-wise.
  9. Very nice, 67. Saw the Lincoln C in person a couple summers ago and quite liked it. I'd totally rock one in any color other than eco-puke green.
  10. It's interesting. I'll always give points for interesting. The sides have the same high, straight character line and arched fenders clashing and intruding in each others' space like on the Focus. It's got similar proportions to the Sonata, but I think it looks chunkier and less dynamic with its taller nose and more horizontal beltline. If the whole car lost a couple of inches in thickness it might have pulled it off better.
  11. I was never really crazy about the old MKS face. It was okay, but I didn't like how the grilled bars didn't line up with the edge of the frame, or how the outer top corners of the headlights appeared to cant inward when viewed from more frontal angles (same quirk the Acura TL has). I think the new front end is more fluid and dynamic looking. I like the cleaner lower fascia too. The rear end is a more subtle change. They've enhanced the geometry a bit but I think the elements of the old taillights looked a bit more sophisticated. I too was hoping for wide ones like on the T and Z. So no it's still not a home run but it's a nice freshening up until it's next generation.
  12. Some good old teardrop trailers.
  13. I quite like the Zundapp Janus:
  14. going to school, saw two clean late-80s Caprices at once, a gray sedan in front of me and a brown/tan one beside me coming home, a black Volt
  15. From chat the other night. <§carlet §wo...> taking intro to b&w photography this semester and resenting every minute of it <balthazar> I took photography and did most of it in B&W, but as you'd expect, I like B&W. <§carlet §wo...> i loathe printing in the darkroom 8:20 PM <balthazar> it's cozy in there. <§carlet §wo...> i find it the most expensive, wasteful, tedious, time consuming, frustrating, unrewarding, and unsatisfying thing i've done throughout all of school. <balthazar> But... it's 'art'. <§carlet §wo...> and i understand i need to gain an appreciation of all areas of find art. ok. i appreciated it after the first few weeks. now it's gone downhill and i'm speeding towards hating all photography for the rest of my life. <§carlet §wo...> and i know i shouldn't complain about getting a good education when there are starving poor kids in africa, blah blah blah. <§carlet §wo...> sorry to be a negative nancy, i need to get this $h! off my chest.
  16. I like that Mathis somewhat. And as the others said, that Deux Chevaux is wicked. German homemade streamlined coachwork 1939 Schloerwagen
  17. Strictly
  18. Saw a Hyundai Veloster the other day. I didn't even know there was a production version of it.
  19. Nissan Juke Honda Crosstour Acura ZDX BMW X6 I really just like the concept of of a high-riding fastback in general. Actually, anything fastback in general.
  20. My school's AIGA planned a trip to Pittsburgh last Thursday for a studio tour. I offered to drive since the Express could fit everyone who was going. Getting in I was having a very hard time navigation the city roads. I glanced down at the GPS and heard a few people mention something about there being a red light. I tried to cruise through but a lady an Elantra was making a right turn into my lane. There was an oncoming car in the lane opposite me so I couldn't swerve to avoid her and she hit my front passenger side door. No one was hurt, everyone drove away, but I was thoroughly embarrassed and my enjoyment of the rest of the trip was severely diminished. And my peers probably won't want me to drive them anywhere again.
  21. My dad circa the '80s.
