  1. +1. That sort of engine sound is characteristic of this class of car, no matter who's building it.
  2. Wow, that's heavier than our Maxima...
  3. Done.
  4. Balthy, I borrowed your list to post on another forum. Hope that's ok.
  5. I second the LX sedans. Hemi, of course.

    The Maximum

    But I hadn't gone anywhere...

    The Maximum

    That is just perfect.
  8. I've never been a coupe person, but what Ford and Chevy have done, performance-wise, with the Mustang and Camaro has me checking them out big-time. Also, I think the A5/S5/RS5 is the best-looking coupe to come out of Germany in quite some time. Sadly, since the wife and I are planning for little ones, I have to put off notions of buying a coupe in the future...
  9. Dwight's analysis is spot-on. One question though... would your proposed CAFE tax replace the present gas-guzzler tax? Or would it not matter since many vehicles (e.g. CTS-V, any SRT- subject to the gas-guzzler tax aren't on CAFE's radar anyway?
  10. Hey, my dad had the '88, but it had the bench seat. That was my DD when I first got my license. The bench was comfy too. We took the truck on a trip to Massanutten and had no problems with comfort.
  11. My current Bonneville. Second would be my wife's old Intrepid. The Bonnie has leather, the Intrepid had cloth. Interestingly, it was the cushioning, not the upholstery, that made the seats comfortable. The American cars I've driven have been good with that.
  12. The status of almost being a Dr.? ... and considering I have a high school diploma, I should have known to keep reading until the very end to see how this plot resolved itself. But I never liked literature.
  13. I think we broke him, guys... a Buick Corvette? Really? Oh, and the only way my neck could ever be red is if I went to Sherwin-Williams and painted it that way.
  14. Considering I have a high school diploma, I presume that someone dropped something down their floor vent not too long after this was attached to the car.
  15. That line "considering I have a high-school diploma" has the potential to become one of the greatest C&G memes of the year 2010. I'm calling it. bring_BUICK_back, you don't impress anyone here saying that. We already have a thread full of posters' educational attainments... maybe you should peruse it.
  16. OK, I found another pic. Like me, one of a kind...
  17. Yesterday I saw my first new LaCrosse on the road that wasn't silver.
  18. But what I know most about my birth year is that there was no Corvette produced for sale for that MY.
  19. A REALLY old Pontiac (I'm guessing from the '30s). Kinda looked like a Series 603.
  20. "You son of a BEE!" I had heard of this already via another community, but seeing it made my motherfudging day.
  21. Wife and I are in Athens, GA until Sunday after church service.
  22. Hard to argue that. Assuming that the Malibu will be more or less the same size as the Regal, the Sonata will undercut it by 400 lbs. If they can shave weight somewhere... Malibu's gonna have to win on other points such as refinement and driving dynamics (as far as can be had in a family sedan), as well as design and available equipment.
  23. It's also the second-heaviest car in its class too, behind the C350 by 10 lbs.
  24. In the past few days, a couple of Tauruses, a couple of LaCrosses, a couple of SRX. Oh, and a B-body Dodge Charger from between '68 and '70. Would have been absolutely wonderful with an overhaul, both outside (completely rusty) and under the hood (backfiring).
  25. Yeah, my bracket's been gone for a while now. Kentucky's the only Final Four team I have left standing, and WVU and Baylor are the only two other correct choices I still have left. I'm in 5th in my league.
