  1. CSpec, good investigation there with the other side of the story. It does weaken the man's position somewhat (read: "entirely").
  2. THAT is interesting.
  3. So if one CFL team loses to another by one or two points, does the "margin of error" argument still apply? You should ask your friend that question and see if he still persists in failing.

I don't doubt it's fun. But since it's been associated with old people for the longest time, the current members of my generation shy away from it. Kinda like Buick before the Enclave, current LaCrosse, and 2011 Regal.
  5. Funny how the guy doesn't understand the concept of torque and gearing as it relates to fuel economy...
  6. I can't even feel sorry for the young dude. He shoulda thought everything out a little better... ... and also realized that a guy who stands eight inches taller than you and outweighs you, even if he's 67, can still take you.

  9. OK, so I voted for all the marques that had at least one model I'd consider buying. Chevy - Silverado Cadillac - CTS Buick - Regal, LaCrosse GMC - Acadia, Sierra Ford - Taurus SHO, Mustang, Fusion (my wife's top choice ) Lincoln - MKS Chrysler - Town & Country (wife's request... she wouldn't let me get a fullsize van...) Dodge - Charger R/T or SRT8 Audi - A6, A8 BMW - 5, 7 Nissan - Maxima Infiniti - G, M, (bring back the Q!) Subaru - Legacy Mazda - Mazda6 Maserati - Quattroporte
  10. Slight dusting, huh, DF...
  11. I can do careful and delicate. Sounds like the plan for when I build my new one later this year. siegen, you look like you have a good kit there. Let us know how it goes.
  12. Sounds good. I've never installed a motherboard before. How easy/hard is it?
  13. All true. You seem to be a good driver too. Here in Baltimore I haven't seen too much of that.
  14. whiteknight, you hit the nail on the head with this: This is always true irrespective of drivetrain layout.

    Future Drive

Depends who you ask. Even then, their answers will change based on the reasoning. With those who have used RWD forever without stopping, they'll see no reason to convert to FWD. With companies who have always been FWD only or who have done away with RWD for whatever reason, they'll have to analyze whether or not the cost justifies the benefit. Personally, I think that both will persist. I'm betting that RWD will pick up in the future, however.
  16. Actually, you can. Brake on your own instead of trusting the car to do it. Things work a little different between manuals and automatics, I imagine... but that's a whole different topic. Would you intentionally do it in a U-Haul on a two-way two-lane road with curves and oncoming as well as trailing traffic, though?
  17. If you gotta doctor it up, is it really that much better? I kid, I kid. I'm not gonna be the one to open that can of worms. But this past week, every car I've seen get stuck in snow/slush or have problems moving has been RWD... and most have been SUVs, but the scariest one was a U-Haul truck. Fishtailed more than a migrating salmon. Now, hard-packed ice is a whole different story... all bets are off there, no matter which wheels you have driving.
  18. Be safe, man. We'll hold your spot for you.
  19. I don't know how much shoveling I've done the past week or so... but I know that tonight I got really good at using a garden shovel as an icepick. And I pushed my first car out of the snow/ice today. A current-gen Explorer.
  20. Yeah, but ZOMG! WHAT ABOUT THE ALL-IMPORTANT EARTH-SHATTERING HIGHER MPGs??? You can't expect a Toyota hybrid driver to think about lowering their efficiency.
  21. Most seafood. I generally only eat whitefish and crab. Would like to try a steak from a fish some day, as long as it's not salmon or tuna. HATE okra, mushrooms, spinach, rutabaga, lima beans. Also, I don't eat ANY condiments based on mayonnaise, which rules out most salad dressings. Or anything with anything remotely resembling mayonnaise as one of the ingredients.
  22. Tell me about it. I shoveled two days ago and STILL feel it in my lower back.
  23. I haven't even tried to venture out to the roads yet. It's been hard enough shoveling the cars out of the parking lot here. Speaking of which, how many people did you have shoveling out the drive? Looks like the work of several hands. We have to make a quick run to the grocery store today before the next wave of snow starts falling this afternoon/evening. If you move near a Metro line, you'll be fine. Especially those with underground stations.
  24. LOL from me too.
