  1. Haven't seen a K car on the road in ages..I think they all rusted out around here.
  2. Ouch. Wonder if it has suspension and other underneath damage. A little bondo and paint...
  3. May they have more success than the last Latin-named Chrysler parent (Cerebus)...
  4. Probably no panels in common. The ES is based on the Camry platform, though.
  5. Nothing remotely to do with the Camry. You are thinking of the ES. The GS has a proper RWD platform, not transverse engine FWD shit. I've read the GS is decent sports sedan.
  6. Matador (The Rebel was renamed Matador for '71)
  7. I like how the font on the embossed 'Ford' resembles the 'Ford' on the tailgate of the first gen.
  8. Yeah, I did that with my username a year or so ago, got tired of Cubical and Moltar. Rob or Robert, never, ever Bob. Hope your hand heals well. I'm wondering if I'm developing arthritis...after a day of computing, my right middle finger (and only that finger) gets very painful. Not sure if it's from typing or mousing, though I tend to use the Mac trackpad more than the mouse (that is mostly thumb movements).
  9. You changed your handle on here, I see..
  10. There are many conversations.
  11. It’s so you.
  12. Yeah, I could see EVs being commodity appliances. But are enough people willing to drop $40k or more on an unknown brand appliance? Maybe if they are made available as monthly subscriptions/leases... I could see someone 'subscribing' to an EV online, have it delivered to their house, then use it for a period of time (24 months?), subscription is up, it gets picked up and disposed of, a new, improved one is dropped off....just like a phone... strange new world..
  13. That's just marketing... it's on the consumer to determine if they want to pay that price. I understand, though..third party products are often shit. I stick with authentic Apple products (esp. charging cables and power cords) though I know they cost more than some 3rd party shit product. As an aside, one third party product I've bought lately that I've been satisfied with are Anker wireless earbuds..better than the hard plastic ones that came w/ my latest iPhone.
  14. Exactly. Thus they don't have the need for Bentley pickups or vans. Like with Cadillac, there is Chevy and GMC for the commercial vehicles. Different approach. Mercedes has long had the duality in their reality--luxury sedans, coupes, sporty models with a long history of commercial vehicles.
  15. Bentley and Porsche are part of VWAG, they have VW Commercial for the vans.
  16. If I were to trade my Jeep on something late model from another car maker right now, I'm not sure what I'd go for..got to think about it.
  17. Love the dash on the Rivian...kind of almost Volvoish...I like the light colors and the light wood. And I do like that green exterior color you posted a while back.
  18. I like the Model S styling, but the other models don't appeal to me at all. And I really don't like having all the controls on a touch screen. I like the tactile feel of conventional controls. My Jeep has a lot of controls in the touch screen, but mostly they aren't the most essential features.
  19. I get that Tesla has great technology...being in tech and all I should be a customer of theirs, but their products just don't really appeal to me..I may eventually have an EV...let's see what the market is like in 10 years.
  20. I like Tesla, but I do think they cut corners quite a bit on some aspects of their products..by and large, I find their interiors disappointing. For luxury priced vehicles, they don't seem very luxury inside...
  21. case
  22. The C8, Camaro, CT5-V, the late CT6, Escalade, Mustang, Aviator, Navigator and upcoming Bronco are all interesting, as far as buying, .I can see myself getting another Grand Cherokee and a Challenger R/T down the road, maybe another Mustang GT.... not anything new, but a CPO to avoid the depreciation. Beyond those, there is so little left for me to get excited about w/ American vehicles...just a bunch of forgettable appliances and ugly trucks...not that different than the appliances churned out by the Korean and Japanese brands. Boring. Though there are a few Japanese and European cars I like a lot. I guess just don't care enough anymore to get too 'emotionally charged'..
  23. Though FCA is a foreign-owned company, they are pretty much the only 'American' car maker I can see myself buying products from in the near future..not really much at Ford or GM I find that interesting.
  24. I can't imagine why any Western company continues to do business with China. Their government is getting more and more powerful and authoritarian...it's time for Western companies to leave, IMO. Nothing of value left of Buick at this point, just a bunch of platform shared FWD generics...same appliances sold as Chevy and GMC with different styling.
  25. I could see them pulling out of China..no future there.
