  1. Ah... not sure if I like them that far forward. Cups would block the tiny buttons on the center stack behind them.
  2. I don't even see cup holders..disturbing...did they forget them, or they hidden and power operated? It's a nice interior, with that flat windshield and angle, big square side windows, it kind of reminds me of how a luxury Wrangler Unlimited interior could look..
  3. Just saw a really cheesy car ad on a local channel..it was a Kia dealer, the ad had a Star Wars theme (salespeople dressed as Luke, Leia, Han and Chewie) and was hawking new Kia Fortes for $59/month or two Fortes for $100/month.
  4. If the Stinger is successful, maybe they will do a higher power version down the road..Stinger Wasp or something like that... the Stinger sounds like a fun car, some spicy kimchi. Looking forward to seeing one in person.
  5. Are you also getting emails for threads you have read but not commented in or followed? I'm finding for every thread I read or react to (like, etc) I'm getting an email... I guess auto-follow for any action is the default since the upgrade. I'm looking at the notification settings to adjust mine... check here. But I don't see anything for what I'm seeing. https://www.cheersandgears.com/notifications/options/
  6. A sub 13 sec quarter mile and a sub 5 sec 0-60 time...hard to imagine those numbers and Kia in the same sentence..fascinating times we live in..
  7. Kind of a body style that was an anachronism by the mid 50s--was something seen on luxury cars of the pre-WWII era. Kind of the reverse of a laundaulet body style (convertible top over the rear seat only).
  8. That was called a Town Car bodystyle. Found it..this car has been restored, it is the 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham Town Car Motorama concept car. https://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z11289/Cadillac-Eldorado-Brougham-Concept.aspx
  9. The C-HR kinds of looks like a Velocter with an extra door and angry styling..
  10. I think is a vintage GM show car of sort...maybe this is a Warhoops Salvage yard photo? Something that Joe Bortz saved or hasn't?
  11. I can see it now...Flagstaff Nissan in Flagstaff AZ can advertise it with the slogan 'Get Your Kicks on Route 66'. (The dealership is off Historic Route 66).
  12. It takes up more width than a straight vertical bar, though. Space is at a premium on the face of a mirror.
  13. Why? An arrow would have wasted space because of the shape..this suffices because it is on the left mirror, so the function is obvious.
  14. I sat in a 5th gen Camaro last year at a car show..ridiculous tiny side windows, tiny mirrors, blind spots everywhere. Needs Silverado-size outside mirrors and a back up camera. And maybe a periscope.
  15. Autocorrrect in the Safari browser changed 'gundam' to 'fundamentalists'...pretty funny...
  16. They need to do an AWD Lexus version of the CH-R with violent predator gundam styling, below the NX.
  17. Ok, I'm definitely getting auto-follow if I like/react to a post in a thread. Like the GM carbon fiber bed thread in General Motors News forum. It doesn't show I'm following, but I'm getting email updates. I'm also getting auto-follow if I just read the posts in a thread without liking/reacting. For example, the 'lack of AWD hurting CH-R sales' thread. It doesn't show I'm following, but I'm getting email updates. No a big deal, just a quirk of the software, apparently.
  18. I'll try that.
  19. Looks good..I am seeing the comment in reply/comment follow emails, as it should be. Still getting the mysterious auto-follow behavior when I only read a post and it's comments (without commenting or following), may be a setting I'm not familiar with.
  20. I like the Boxster, have ridden in a few and driven a couple. But I definitely wouldn't want a 20 yr old one...too much that can go wrong, and go German wrong ($$$$). No more money pits. I want peace of mind and fun, not a nightmare.
  21. For me, I won't spend money on a 20 yr old car...I want a new or CPO car with new car reliability and a warranty..don't want to f*ck around the old car problems of a 20 yr old car...been there, done that.
  22. Fascinating...I never knew about the Turbo diesel Ranger..was apparently a Mitsubishi 2.3 engine. I knew about the Rangers with the Mazda diesel (a Mazda-Perkins engine according to Wikipedia). But I can't imagine discussing modern turbo engine longevity by citing examples from 30 years ago...
  23. @dfelt I assume you can understand that not everyone has the same tastes in cars, different cars appeal to different people for different reasons. I'm not built like an NFL linebacker or NBA player and already have an SUV, so I'm don't need much in terms of storage space in a fun car. I don't need luxury in a sports car either. Another pure sports car that appeals to me is the Boxster, but the Miata would be a much better deal on price and reliability. I like sports coupes like the Mustang, Challenger, ATS, etc but those are a different genre.
  24. Apples and oranges, the ATS is a luxury sports coupe like the BMW 4-series, etc. Something about a minimalist ragtop like the Miata appeals to me..like the old British sports cars but with reliability and quality. Maybe I'm also thinking about something fun for my 50th in a few years. I love my Jeep for daily use, but want something fun and pure also... I think @A Horse With No Name would understand. It's one of those things you either 'get' or don't..I'm starting to 'get' it. As far as the Detroit sports coupes go, I have old Mustangs, kind of like the new Mustang, but find the Challenger far more appealing (want one also). The Camaro just doesn't appeal to me at all.
  25. I wouldn't mind having a Miata at some point..it seems like it (and this variation) is the only affordable pure sports car on the market...seems like it would be a lot of fun. Cars like this are all about handling and the joy of driving, not about how fast they can go around a race course or down a drag strip. Seems like it would be great for 3 season weekend drives on the winding, hilly backroads of Ohio...
