  1. Surprised they don't offer a Cruze Hybrid with this powertrain..
  2. They are building them in the old NUMMI plant, aren't they? Wonder what it's capacity is...wonder if he plans to outsource some assembly to a third party like Magna or Valmet.
  3. I wouldn't say they were common, but I saw Masers fairly frequently around the Phoenix area, esp. in Scottsdale. Usually QPs or GTs...
  4. The Dodge was silver green w/ a matching interior...bench seat w/ a cloth insert, 318 w/ automatic. The Ford was dark gray w/ a black interior. The Chevy was bright yellow, with Tweety Bird decals, tube grille, Cragar SS mags..kind of a 70s street machine look, low in the front, high in the rear. Since this was 30 years ago, I don't have any digital pics of them, but googled and found similar..the first green Dodge pic is the right color and the right wheels (my Dad put the white wagon spoke ones on his), the 2nd pic the right bodystyle and year (but a brighter green).
  5. Speaking of old pickup trucks, my only experience with full-size trucks were the ones my Dad and brother had, all 70s models..the 70s pickups had a lot of charm, clean simple styling. My Dad had a '79 Dodge Power Wagon 4x4, short bed. Very bouncy ride and numb steering, learned to drive in it and drove it a fair bit over a few years. In the late 80s my brother had a '74 Ford F100 longbed, 300 six and manual, and a '75 Chevy C10 short bed step side, 350...both 2wd...fun vehicles.. all very stripped by 2017 standards.
  6. Sounds like a lot of talk...blah blah blah EV blah blah blah 2022 blah blah..
  7. This is the Tesla store in the Scottsdale Fashion Square mall in downtown Scottsdale, across the street from my office.
  8. That's heresy for an M-B fan boy like you to call the B-class a 'bad car' isn't it? The B-class predates the EV version, it was available as a normal engined car before the EV version came along. As far as the unorthodox shape/styling of the Bolt and i3, my theory is it's part of the philosophy that alternative powertrain models by normal car companies have to be distinctive looking to sell--i.e. look at the Prius, Mirai, Leaf, i-Mev....all have unconventional styling. The i3 and Bolt follow that thinking, the Volt to a lesser extent. Very true...bigger people and people with more stuff...need space to haul stuff. Though nowadays most of my stuff arrives at the front door via UPS, USPS, FedEx, Amazon... I still do buy some stuff from physical locations. like to have room in my SUV to haul said stuff.
  9. That gas mileage is impressive for a midsize...
  10. ^ looks like a seat belt attachment point
  11. This is the Cleveland area Tesla store...
  12. Maybe for an A3/CLA competitor they can do a rebadge of the Cruze and use the retro name 'Cimarron'.
  13. If they had shortened the nose and pushed the cab forward it would have looked like a FWD econobox, though...
  14. The next Tesla will be the Model Y compact CUV, so they will have that base covered. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/jun/07/tesla-teases-new-model-y-car-cheaper-model-3-production-elon-musk
  15. Wouldn't the CT4 or whatever it is called be the A4/3-series/C-class competitor, while the CT5 would be the A6/5-series/E-class competitor? A3 is below that...
  16. Definitely going for a futuristic minimalist look inside.. that front end is really bland with no grille.
  17. I'm curious how the production interior actually looks..the only pics I've seen so far, it looks very minimalist.
  18. So to put it simply--the next gen ATS becomes the CT3 or CT4, the next gen CTS becomes the CT5, and the XTS goes away....just switching over to the new boring naming scheme...nothing to see here...
  19. It will be interesting to see if any Model 3s actually sell for $35k...the article I saw indicated the typical price with options will be more like $45k. And the 30 'delivered' yesterday were sold to Tesla employees, so not really out in the market yet with real people.
  20. Yeah, 3 sedan strategy....compact CT?, midsize CT5, and the full size CT6... and 3 crossovers-- XT3, XT5, XT7...
  21. A simplistic fixation on sales numbers with regard to luxury cars seems counter-intuitive...isn't luxury supposed to be about exclusivity, not sales volume?
  22. Yes...got to get some before winter for my Jeep....black carpeted mats aren't going to work in Ohio winters...
  23. That's what I did w my GC. 3 yr old CPO w 25k miles w extended warranty to 100k miles. Happy w my purchase 4 months and 5k miles later.
  24. It's hard to beat a comfortable ICE powered SUV for transcontinental drives...
