Sales: Sales Figure Ticker: August 2017
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Sales Figure Ticker
I don't do public transit currently, but have in the past when in cities where they are viable. I liked and used the light rail often in the Denver area. Never used it in Phoenix, as it was impractical to use relative to where I lived and worked. I like my suburb here in the Cleveland area--very wooded and very quiet, great parks and a National Park 5 min away, but 15-20 min from downtown Cleveland and beaches. I enjoy going into the city for the arts, dining, sports (going to the Browns-Steelers game on Sunday), etc.- 17 replies

My GC has decent side and rear visibility, but I definitely have noticed how much smaller the side and rear windows are compared to my old GC...definitely a noticeable change after 2 generations. The A-pillars are definitely thicker, realized they block the view of traffic coming from the right at intersections when viewed from some angles.

Industry News: Analysts See A Quick Rebound In Car Sales
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
Which are handled differently in each state, I've read some states are pretty lax WRT to such titles. -
I've ridden in the front and back of a current Murano many times, found it had plenty of headroom (I'm normal sized at 6'0", though). Side and rear visibility isn't the best, though (the backup camera and side parking sensors seem necessary).

Took a drive along the Lake Erie coastline through various small towns out to the Marblehead Peninsula to see the lighthouse...stormy weather, 60 degrees but looked more like a November storm at sea. Didn't see too many interesting cars, but one that I noticed in particular was a '71 Chevelle--pale yellow w/ a black vinyl top--was going slowly on a street in Sandusky and making horrible grinding sounds like the driver was struggling to get it in gear.

I like the rear and profile more than the front. The hood looks lower and longer than the previous generations, those looked a bit thick and stubby up front. And the uniqueness of being a hardtop is a big plus...

Audi News: Audi Sport's CEO Wants A Hypercar, But Not Anytime Soon
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Audi
Lol... I once had a German girlfriend and later a Brazilian girlfriend..the German could make discussing distributed database caching algorithms very sexy (she was a computer engineering PhD candidate). The Brazilian was passionate, but bipolar and emotional. Both of them went on to get their PhDs, I dropped out and went Dilbert...good times...- 16 replies

The German supercars/hypercars are less likely to spontaneously combust like the Italians..and usually have better fit and finish.- 16 replies

Definitely evolutionary on the outside from the previous model..I see they have ditched the dual area dash theme inside, going with a more generic approach. I assume it is still a hardtop. Makes me think it would be great to see a big luxury 2dr hardtop from Cadillac again, though it's never going to happen...

To celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Wagoneer, Jeep will be celebrating it with the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Grand Wagoneer. In the spirit of the classic 1984-1991 Grand Wagoneer, the Grand Cherokee Grand Wagoneer will come standard with vinyl wood grain appliqué on the sides and tailgate in a variety of wood styles, with corresponding surround trim. A modern 20-inch version of the classic Grand Wagoneer multi-spoke wheels on 20 inch white wall tires are standard. Interior trim will be based on the Grand Cherokee Summit, but with additional Grand Wagoneer badging, additional woodgrain trim, and retro column gear shift lever and cassette deck in addition to the standard 8.4 UConnect system. Pricing to be announced.

Item: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4
Robert Hall replied to Robert Hall's topic in Member's Rides Showcase
After almost 4 months, the Jeep has been great..really enjoying it...need to work on finishing unpacking from the move so I can use the garage, though. Still parking outside. Since I'm working from home, I've only put about 4000 miles on it.. 2099 of it on the drive back here. Going to get some Weathertech mats and new tires for winter, carpeted mats and the original Goodyear Forteras aren't up to an Ohio winter... -
Heh-heh...Turbos were cool in the big 80s when I was teenager...Buick T-Types, Grand Nationals, Saab 900 Turbo, 300ZX Turbo, etc...though Ford 5.0s were my thing then.

Don't believe the marketing hype, GMC is a GM brand...not a 'truck company'..that's just marketing BS...we all know that GMC products are by and large Chevy products with fancier toppings over the same mechanicals...'professional grade' is just a marketing tagline to justify higher prices over the Chevy trucks and SUVs at the Chevy dealer across the street. As far as Hummer vehicles as GMC vehicles, Hummer is history now, that ship has sunk. GMC's 'fancy Chevy' approach works...
