    FCA has the mainstream 3 row market covered with the Durango, always wonder why didn't do a lux Jeep version 5 years ago...a Durango reskinned w/ GC styling and interior could have been an easy path to a Grand Wagoneer. (have 2 and 3 row models just like M-B w/ the M-class/GLE and GL-class/GLS). However, it sounds like their plan is build a Jeep Escalade---i.e. a SWB Wagoneer and a LWB Grand Wagoneer on the NG Ram truck platform...will be interesting to see what they come up with.

    Aftermarket crap like that probably would void the warranty also...my view is if it isn't a factory stock part, it's shit...

    Looks good...definitely more SUVish looking than the previous generation, which had a strong minivan vibe to the rear quarters, IMO..8.3 inch longer wheelbase than the Acacia, same wheelbase as the new Enclave... looks like they maximized the rear door opening....wheelbase is 4 inches longer than the Tahoe. Since both the Arcadia and XT5 have the shorter wheelbase (112.5), I assume Cadillac will do an XT7 or with the longer wheelbase.. As an aside, I always seem to get the name of the GMC crossover wrong...because there are 4 similar words-- Acacia--a shrubbery Arcacia--a tree Arcadia--a Phoenix neighborhood Acadia--a National Park in Maine

    If gas prices shot up maybe the Sonic would get a reprieve, but subcompact hatches just aren't selling right now.... sadly, neither are full size cars.

    Because it is so unlikely that Honda buyers or intenders would ever consider a domestic RWD model.... I just couldn't see that working. Totally different models, different market niche, different buyers.

    Yeah, the Sprinter pickup is pretty cool... never seen one in the US, though..don't think they are sold here. Single and double cab versions. But they are serious, practical work trucks, not 'premium lifestyle' luxury pickups.

    This is badged as a Mercedes-Benz...isn't M-B supposed to be higher level than a common Asian appliance? You are trying to compare apples to oranges..

    The front has Mazda vibes, the greenhouse Audi-ish (A7) and the tail looks very BMWish (the taillights, and vertical part of the deck)...but the styling works overall, IMO...

    I suppose that is true that it is 'The World's first true premium pickup' if you consider the world outside of North America..compact/midsize pickups outside NA tend to be more functional than 'premium' or 'luxury'....

    This isn't a luxury truck, though...just a regular truck for markets outside the US, it sounds like...something to compete w/ the Nissan Navara (which it's based on), Mitsubishi, Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Chevy/Isuzu Colorado, VW Anorak, etc...

    Someone in my neighborhood has a silver TrailBlazer SS...seen it a couple of times, pretty heavy rust on the doors and rear hatch, and the front and rear bumpers are cracked with chunks missing...

    Whatever, dude...diffrent strokes for different folks... I like the ground clearance (don't have to worry about hitting curbs with a low air dam), 4x4 traction for snow, ease of getting in and out of (high seat H-point)....never once did I care about gas mileage...16-25mpg is plenty enough, and I have room for the dogs and to haul cargo without trying to squeeze something in a trunk with a tiny opening. SUVs suit me.. since 90% of my driving is real-world---i.e. city, suburbs, freeways, the lack of sports sedan/sports car handling doesn't bother me..

    Doubt if that will happen, they talked about the Mazda 6 diesel coming for years, never happened.

    Interesting...so is going to be the only compact diesel CUV on the US market currently? Can't think of any others..

    Luxury segment coupes still sell, albeit in smaller numbers than sedans....Audi has one, BMW has 3, Lexus has 2, MB has several...got to have some if they are serious at luxury, along with convertibles eventually...

    After 17 years of JGCs and 23 years of an SUV daily driver, I foresee always having one as my main vehicle...just so practical.

    'rationalized' and 'standardized' work also...basically adopting a common component across multiple brands.

    Not sure what you mean by 'homologated' in this context, maybe 'homogenized'? Homologation is a racing term, i.e. a certain # of a street car or engine built to quality it for a racing series. I can't really understand why there were lawsuits--- a case of ignorant buyers? There were certain GM models that used Chevy engines since the early 70s... All the X-bodies in the 70s used Chevy 6s, the Pontiac Le Mans used a Chevy 6 from '70 onward, didn't some of the '60s Cutlasses also use a Chevy 6? The whole separate engines for each brand idea seems insanely expensive...Chrysler abandoned that idea in the late 50s/early 60s, Ford did at some point in the 60s...

    Well, it is an FCA product..recalls are to be expected...just heard about a new one pertaining to my Jeep that's coming..something to do with the alternator and fires.
