  1. Any experienced opinions, as an owner or long term driver? +/- ?
  2. It's a minor inconvenience, but annoying when it's sleeting outside..
  3. Come down to Scottsdale....luxury convertibles are a daily sight...esp. now in winter when it's cool enough to drive top down. Luxury convertibles sell well in So Cal, AZ, Florida...it's inexplicable for Cadillac to be in the luxury market without one...even in the Cleveland area, I've seen 3 BMW 4 series convertibles and a 6 series convertible driving around this week in the sleet and snow..
  4. I'm 6'0", plenty of room for me...as far as the back floor, there is enough room for my backpack there...haven't sat there. Plenty of leg room up front, head room, good outward visibility.. One thing that annoys me is the inconsistency in the trunk release buttons..the one on the driver's door pops open the trunk, whilst the one on the remote simply unlocks the trunk, doesn't open it. Still have to reach down and futz w/ a hidden release on the decklid to open it. I'm used to other rental cars I've driven having the remote open the trunk.
  5. Picked up a white Passat early Sunday morning at the Cleveland, OH airport. I've got it through Feb 4th, so I'll have 2 weeks of experience. So far, pleasantly bland inside and out. Good, clear gauges. HVAC controls took a bit of time to figure out (humidity!! windows fogging up! Don't have that in AZ). Mirror adjustment controls were hard to get to work, thought the knob was going to break off. Driving--good steering feel, reasonable power and reasonably quiet (lots of tire thump noise on Ohio's broken up freeways and streets). Mostly surface roads and streets so far. Will update over the next week.
  6. Been living and working out of a hotel in Independence, Oh (Cleveland suburb) since Sunday--closed on my house and got my keys yesterday. Busy, busy. Some sunny days, some rainy days..snow coming. Haven't seen too many interesting cars, except for a black w/ red stripes 6th gen Camaro SS w/ the top up in the rain, and a sharp silver CTS-v coupe in my new neighborhood, parked in a driveway w/ a black '15+ Escalade...
  7. Auction week is here, saw some oldies that may or may not be related to that...yesterday, I saw a clean yellow '65 Coronet ht in a motel parking lot in downtown Scottsdale, a black late 50s Rolls Royce Phantom, and a yellow early (chrome bumper) Pantera... today I saw a gorgeous red w/ gold rockers and gold wheels Lamborghini Miura SV in traffic...first I've ever seen that I can recall...what a sound.
  8. I looked at Edit Profile and can't find a way to edit my post signature (message that appears at the bottom of posts).
  9. Drove by a house this morning with 3 2nd gen Taurus SHOs...two white, one silver.
  10. Which is consistent with 21st century Cadillac model cycles..the 1st gen CTS lasted 5 model years, the 2nd gen 7 model years, the 3rd gen Escalade 8 model years, etc with no meaningful MCEs...
  11. Another CUV w/ the blackout C-pillar trim like the Murano, RX, etc..isn't that played out yet? Kind of a 2015 thing... Definite family resemblance to the Acadia in the front...
  12. Interesting choice in the name...it makes me think of late 60s-early 70s Mopar names... (Super Bee, Dart GT, Dart Swinger, etc)...
  13. The F150 seems to be another example of a truck getting an MCE that looks worse than it's predecessor..like the Ram's recent grille change, or the last update to the Silverado...the predecessors looked better, IMO. 'worse' in the sense of busier, more cluttered front end trims...
  14. Side window treatment looks like the previous gen Optima...
  15. I've seen plenty of that here in Phoenix also...the drivers usually are too focused on their phones or tablets to notice...(can see the glowing screens).
  16. I've seen so many people with DRLs/DSLs forget to turn on their lights after dark...driving around w/ them on but no taillights on..
  17. My Jeep has an old school fender antenna, I always remove it before going through the carwash (unscrews at the base, hand tighten/loosen)..they should have done that..if Ford's antenna doesn't remove easily, that's absurd...an expensive truck shouldn't have an old time antenna, that's just stupidity and cheapassery...
  18. Whatever happened to power antennas? Fixed mast antennas are so old school...
  19. Yesterday---saw a new Audi R8 in bright orange, a new NSX in a bright blue, an early '00s NSX-T in a metallic orange w/ the targa top off, a white Aventador, and a red F488 spyder... I guess some supercar owners in Scottsdale decided to drive them on a sunny Friday after a rainy week.. today, I saw a new LaCrosse in a medium red, first of the new ones I've seen...looks great in person.
  20. White '69 Ford Mustang sports roof. 351W, 4bbl, automatic. My Dad bought it new the year before I was born, and willed it to me. It's stored on the family farm in Ohio along w/ my '87 Mustang GT. Looking forward to driving both this summer.
  21. A black '63 Coupe de Ville appeared yesterday a block over from me parked in front of a house, still there today....I strolled by, metal looked straight, paint somewhat oxidized. Good chrome.
  22. Seems like the car spotting threads have died off... saw a couple neat oldies today---a very clean black w/ red interior '56/57 Corvette at the gas station, and a two tone lt gold/dark gold '60 Olds 88 4dr sedan.
  23. Both songs are fun...I've enjoyed a lot the 80s style retro synth from artists such as Kavinsky, Rosso Corsa artists such as Miami Nights 1984, Mitch Murder, Perturbator, Lazerhawk and others.. One favorite collection is the 'Drive' movie soundtrack which includes tracks by Kavinsky and College.
  24. I did a lot of trail biking around the Colorado Springs area from '97-02 on my late 90s Specialized. Still have the bike, but haven't ridden in years...but with the extensive trails in and around the Cleveland Metroparks, I plan to get back into it..need the exercise.
