  1. My 77yr old uncle and his wife have a '14 MDX, rode in it last year in Ohio. It's a pleasant, comfortable midsize SUV, but I wouldn't take it over my Grand Cherokee...
  2. These photos were taken 3 days apart, in March 2016. My old Jeep sitting in the driveway, a Phoenix sunset looking down my street, and the 2nd pic an Ohio sunset taken on the family farm...
  3. oil stains on the driveway courtesy of my old Jeep, which had a leak or two for years...
  4. The adventure continues. Pods showed up today to pick up full Pod #2 to ship off to Ohio (will be there in about 10 days), and drop off empty Pod #3 (the final one--will be mostly furniture). Had to unload #3 to the street, move #2 out to the street, then move #3 into the driveway, then load up #2. And the garbage truck was doing it's rounds, so the street got crowded...
  5. 'Bosch' season 3 just came out on Netflix last Friday, I binge watched it over the weekend. I've long been a fan of Michael Connelly's LA-set police detective novels, the TV adaptation is excellent, has several actors from 'The Wire' in various roles. Titus Welliver is excellent as Det. Harry Bosch. Another show I've been enjoying on streaming is the British-Belgian crime drama 'The Missing' with Tcheky Karyo as a veteran French detective investigating disappearances over two seasons. 'Code of a Killer' is a British drama with John Simm set in the 80s about forensic DNA breakthroughs from the science and police angles involving a serial killer in the UK. Last year I watched the original 'The Bridge' (Bron)--excellent Swedish-Danish crime drama, and it's UK-French adaptation 'The Tunnel'. Both were excellent, though 'The Tunnel' was diminished IMO since it was so derivative of the original.
  6. Cool. Looking forward to seeing pics, I haven't seen one of the new Compasses in person yet.
  7. Maybe they will do NISMO versions of the NV vans.
  8. Yep. The driver uses a remote control that looks like an R/C plane controller w a joystick to move it. Pretty slick. Now if their customer service and website worked as well...
  9. Just over 2000 miles.
  10. Congrats. Love those cars.
  11. Going slower than planned, had some delays and changes in plans. Second Pod is leaving Phoenix this week, going back to Ohio for a week in early May to unpack it, then back to Phoenix to finish up. Should be driving to Ohio w the dogs in the new Jeep before Memorial Day.
  12. I found this list on Wikipedia, not sure how accurate or up to date it is, worldwide plants. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_General_Motors_factories
  13. So back on topic, what other manufacturing assets does GM still have in South America? Brazil I know, but not sure of other countries.
  14. A few pics I've taken over the last 3 weeks. Enjoying it quite a bit so far.
  15. Pizza is such a configurable product. So many topping options, some grouped in common option packages, some custom. Lots of choices...glad it's not a simple right/wrong binary choice but one of infinite configurability.
  16. I remember long ago kids would take old muscle cars and add big rear tires and air shocks so they would sit that way....I remember seeing examples of the genre when in high school 30 years ago...my older brother did it to various cars he had in the 70s.
  17. I assume the Expedition and Navigator will still have a rear legroom and cargo space advantage from a lower floor because of the IRS when compared to the GM full sizers...
  18. I'd love to try those Japanese pizzas. I love pizza, I love seafood, and enjoy Japanese and Asian cuisine in general (sushi, sashimi, tempura, teppanyaki, etc).
  19. Different brands, different grille styling cues...
  20. Driver's seat is positioned for someone 5' tall and thin, looks like...
  21. Some cool concepts..the Trailpass looks close to a production model...I see from the Jeep site there is a Trailhawk version of the new Compass.
  22. I like the look of the old ones, and esp. the interior....the dash on the current generation is so generic...bulgy vents, very little wood...the older plank of wood dashes looked better, IMO..
  23. I like the front and side profile, but the rear is so odd looking..something about the bumper and taillights just turns me off...
  24. Stock old musclecars aren't exactly pleasant to drive...horrific ergonomics (fixed steering wheels, seats that only go fore/aft, random control placement, etc), single outside mirrors, primitive brakes, AM radios, etc... I've had experience driving cars such as my brother's '68 Camaro SS 396 and my own '69 Mustang 351 I inherited; they are fun for the occasional spin, but far too crude and unrefined for frequent use...modern muscle cars are refined enough to use as a daily driver...
  25. Of course, the Shaker Challenger was parked next to a delicious brown w/ brown interior GC Summit, but that was $20k more than I wanted to spend for a daily driver...
