Rumorpile: Next Commodore To Become Front-Wheel Drive
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Heritage Marques
And that's the top ten vehicles, incl. trucks and CUVs/SUVs...in the cars only list, it's not there either..the Commodore is the only largish RWD model on the list--the rest are just FWD. One odd thing is I don't see any Honda or Nissan cars in the top 10. 1. Mazda3 - 44,128 2. Toyota Corolla - 38,799 3. Holden Commodore - 30,532 4. Holden Cruze - 29,161 5. Hyundai i30 - 28,348 6. Toyota Camry - 27,230 7. Toyota Yaris - 18,808 8. Ford Focus - 18,586 9. Mazda2 - 17,574 10. Volkswagen Golf - 17,289 Read more: http://www.smh.com.au/business/the-economy/4wds-lead-car-sales-to-record-highs-20130104-2c850.html#ixzz2njhjnXn2 -
Rumorpile: Next Commodore To Become Front-Wheel Drive

Australians have given up...the Commodore is only 4th in sales last year, they mostly buy FWD appliances like Americans do, and some Japanese trucks. 1. Mazda3 - 44,128 2. Toyota HiLux - 40,646 3. Toyota Corolla - 38,799 4. Holden Commodore - 30,532 5. Holden Cruze - 29,161 6. Hyundai i30 - 28,348 7. Toyota Camry - 27,230 8. Nissan Navara - 26,045 9. Toyota Yaris - 18,808 10. Ford Focus - 18,586 -

...that's it...and the Buick Encore is one size below this. -

I think M-B is adding a CUV based on the A-class...CLX or GLX or similar? That might be in this segment... -
I haven't noticed any around town, but I did see one out on I-10 in the Mohave a couple months ago.

Rumorpile: Next Commodore To Become Front-Wheel Drive

I haven't looked at the sales numbers, but I rarely ever see a Regal on the road, which is unfortunate...one of GM's best looking cars IMO...love the shape. -

'all new' is just such an overused marketing BS term...rarely are cars truly 'all new'... -

Really? I wouldn't consider the recent exterior changes to the Regal, LaCrosse and Malibu to be 'all new'...just minor changes to the fascias, grilles, light clusters. -

Hmmm...isn't the LaCrosse the oldest LWB Epsilon II..and the Insignia/Regal is the oldest SWB Epsilon II. (not considering recent trivial MCEs, the current generation of LaCrosse dates to '10 and the Insignia/Regal '08 IIRC). -

Epsilon III, then.... -

Epsilon II, I would assume... -
'Devo' sounds like it would be a more fitting name, as is it devolving into a lesser form.

Yes, an Australian Terrier and 3 Yorkies--all 5-7 years old and in good health. The pack that likes to follow me around the house, around the yard..

We had to put our elderly Westie to sleep today, 14 yrs old. She was a great companion. Lost 4 dogs in 2 years due to old age and health issues.

From a couple sources I've read the Avenger replacement could be a RWD model, but I can't see that happening...to achieve mass market midsize mediocrity in NA it has to be FWD.

The 200 shouldn't be a sales leader. I'm guessing (and hoping) that Chrysler is not aiming for Camry or even Fusion like sales volumes for this car... that is Dodge's job. Let it be the smaller, posher, mid-size car that sells on content rather than cheap subsidized leasing. They'll sell fewer of them, but at a higher transaction price and a higher margin. With the Avenger being a dead end fleet model as it is now, they are going to have to do a lot of work at Dodge if they hope to compete with the midsize Big 3 (Altima, Accord, Camry) and Ford..

No. I've lived in 2 plate states, lived in 1 plate states..doesn't mean anything to me. The big issues for me are quality of life, career opportunities, climate, etc in choosing a state/city to live in..

I do wonder how it compares to the Dart and current 200 in size. The current 200 is towards the small end of the mid size segment, I think?

Rumorpile: Holden To Transition Into Chevrolet After 2017

Could have been gray market or from Ireland. Hard times still for GM. It's going to be hard for their regional niche brands to survive.. -

Saw a blurb somewhere today that Vauxhall could go also. Didn't realize Opel was in the UK, I knew it was in Ireland so they already have RHD Opel badged models... -
Looks good..big improvement over the current model, IMO. Greenhouse reminds me of the Verano.

Stopped and got gas on the way to work...only 400 more miles to accumulate before the Jeep hits the big 150k milestone...went through the car wash last weekend, probably going to take it in for an oil change and service soon, go get the interior detailed. Taking the last two weeks of the year off, catch up on sleep and car/house tasks...
