  1. A buddy of mine in Denver has a neat late '60s window van..he's been restoring/upgrading it for several years..has an '80s vintage 911 flat 6 mounted in it...
  2. The color and emblems? Other than that, it looks the same to me as the SS, though it is RHD.
  3. The front lower fascias definitely seem inspired by recent F1 front wing design and/or the hideous i8. Other than overly busy front and rear fascias, they look quite good IMO..nice to see them back to straight 6s.
  4. It would be easy enough to make a trunked version of the CT200H and go head to head..
  5. You still probably aren't going to see an El Camino revival, so you may as well give up.
  6. It will be interesting to see what GM does with Alpha going forward, outside of Cadillac. I assume the next Camaro. I do wonder if there is room in Chevy's lineup of vanilla FWD appliances for a RWD sports sedan, though. Could be a Buick RWD coupe as well, I'd expect it to wear the Riviera badge. It would be a nice high end companion to a Verano convertible, Opel Cascada, that is highly likely coming here. The SS, if it survives, would likely be rebuilt on Alfa. As the middle east really likes the RWD Caprice/Lumina and they sell the Caprice PPV here, I put the chance of the SS surviving at about 50%. An NA built Caprice PPV would probably sell a lot better than the imported one also...

  8. Haven't seen one yet..looking forward to seeing one in person.
  9. Sad. But other than the Commodore and it's variations, Holden today is just peddling the same generic FWD appliances that GM is peddling elsewhere. The Commodore and it's variations are their only unique models.
  10. The G35 has been gone for 5 years or so..replaced by the G37. The Q50 is replacing the G37 (new naming scheme), but they are keeping the G37 around for a while also.
  11. Crank windows..wow..I didn't know there were still cars made with them. I remember those from long ago.
  12. Meh..just another FWD appliance best forgotten.
  13. Happy Birthday!
  14. A consumption based tax still makes more sense than a mileage based, IMO.
  15. Definitely should be one or the other, but a consumption tax like we have now seems the most viable...the mileage one, esp. if it requires special hardware, seems too costly to implement.
  16. I was thinking about this over lunch and feel that I have to amend this comment. The exception to this rule is Ford. Europeans, and Germans in particular, tend to see Ford of Germany vehicles more as European cars rather than American cars. That is because for 100 years or so European Fords have been built in Europe and were usually distinct from US models. Ford in Europe has long been as European as Opel.
  17. Same old, same old bumbling...I thought Chevrolet was going to be the international brand, sold everywhere ala Ford, Toyota, Honda, etc..
  18. No surprise, they put so little effort into it. it was a half-hearted, afterthought effort..they didn't even put any effort into naming. Chevy in the US is focused on volume FWD appliances and trucks, not sports sedans.
  19. So the strategery sounds like local brands (Opel, Vauxhall) for the FWD volume cars and CUVs and keep Chevrolet and Cadillac for the niche good stuff ('icons').
  20. Ok....hmmm...reversal from the effort to sell the Spark, Sonic, Cruze, etc in Europe..I guess they aren't selling that well there..
  21. Cool...my pool skimmer is a Barracuda brand..thought about putting a Hemi badge on it.
  22. Ya, the R/T.. https://autos.aol.com/article/2011-dodge-grand-caravan-rt/
  23. Why not? True, but you just cannot make it a true sports vehicle. It is a people mover after all. Yeah, but they did have R/T packages on the Caravan before. Could have a sporty appearance package. Matte black paint w/ matte black wheels, would stand out from all the other boring people movers...
  24. Why not?
