  1. Wow...that's a lot of miles in just 4 years. It took me under 10 years to get my '00 Jeep to 100k, and since then almost 4 more to get to 150k. It's the only vehicle I've ever taken past 100k...
  2. It is just flaky from the driver side controls? Basically, if you sit in the front passenger seat and operate the window and locks, do they operate reliably? It could just be the driver door switch panel going bad. $45 for a reman on Ebay. I think that is what it is... the door lock button on the driver side controls seems to work intermittently as does the power window switches there...but I have tested from the back seat and passenger seat and they work..
  3. The door speakers are ok, it's one of the top of the dash ones that's bad..
  4. Getting close to 150k miles (should be there by next weekend). Been having some old-car gremlins lately...the door locks and power windows work intermittently. The air bag light comes on then goes off after 30 sec or so randomly.
  5. Hmmm...I've had a similar nightmare involving a Prius.
  6. I really doubt if many of these will be raced..they will end up in collector's garages or totalled by incompetent drivers.. As far as race cars, this is an actual Camaro race car:
  7. More like nearly a $40k markup over an SS2 (which starts at $37350). Pretty pricey. I know these kind of massive markups and pricey options are SOP with BMW and Porsche, it's just strange to see Chevy trying to play in that arena w the Camaro..
  8. Monte Carlo
  9. It always seems that after seeing a new car for the first time, a few days later they are everywhere. I saw a new Cherokee for the first time on NYE, and then over the last couple days have seen 4 more...white, silver, black, and a dark red w/ black wheels and graphics (Trail Hawk?).
  10. 84k sold for 2012. Probably most were V6s.
  11. It's probably intentionally priced high to keep volume as low as possible--maybe production volume is limited for this particular engine (how many Z06s did they build) or to avoid issues w/ CAFE? I thought when they announced the Z/28 revival it was going to be Chevy's equivalent of the '12-13 Mustang Boss 302 which is priced between the GT and GT500..i.e. I assumed it would be between the SS and the ZL1 (which I assumed to the top end model).. I guess they only want to sell a couple 100 of these instead.
  12. Same engine as the Z06. I would have thought it would have been priced below the ZL1--which starts around $56k, or at most comparable to the Shelby GT500 in price--- $65k or so. With dealer markup it will probably be pushing $100k...absurd.
  13. Saw a new Cherokee in the Safeway parking lot this afternoon...silver w/ dark gray lower trim. Didn't see the front, only saw the left side and rear..quite nice, though it doesn't look Jeepish to me--looks like a nice Fiat or Alfa CUV until you see the grille. Also saw a black '14 Corvette w/ a red interior and the targa top off and a silver '14 Camaro SS convertible top down in traffic..
  14. More green and pointy..
  15. And of course, for greens, it's hard to beat Pontiac's Verdoro Green..love this color.. And Chevy had Frost Green that I love..
  16. ...and yet sixties Pontiacs looked fantastic in yellow....Yes.. Yes.
  17. I really like that '60s pale yellow used on C2 Corvettes...looks good on big cars of the era like Buicks also, IMO...
  18. It's funny, I remember where I was when I saw it..was in winter in Colorado at sunrise in a restaurant parking lot, the morning sun was on it and the color was incredible.
  19. I like that color...there was a green metallic about 10 years ago that I saw once on an Avalanche that I really liked, never seen it again. It may be this color--Medium Sage Metallic...the 5th gen Camaro would look great in this green, IMO..
  20. The CLK Black Series also added 25 hp..the fender flares made room for wider wheels and tires for better grip, i would assume. I recall on Top Gear the CLK Black Series being described as terrifying...I've seen one in person--in a Dennys parking lot-- interesting car..really looked like a street version of a DTM race car. But back to Cadillac, the V-series is pretty impressive as it is, but I'm sure there is room for more excess... A V series coupe w/o the backseat, carbon fiber roof, etc.
  21. Probably further development of e-tron and other technologies. Maybe get into the ecoperformance niche as BMW is doing w/ the i8...
  22. It depends on the model...the CLK AMG got fender flares w/ wider tires, racing seats, the rear seat removed, carbon fiber roof, etc. The SL AMG pretty much had a custom body w fixed hardtop, flared fenders, wider tires, lots of carbon fiber parts, etc. Audi does their enhanced performance performance models with their R line on top of the S line models (like the RS5 or RS6), BMW has had special edition models on the Ms.. there is always room for more performance.
  23. Maybe inspired by Gundam robots At least they are dramatic and not the usual safe vanilla that other carmakers are doing.
  24. Seems Honda is following Mazda's lead in using more surface development in compact CUV designs instead of the usual bland.
