  1. Ideal for a Pontiac fan w/ a big family that doesn't want a 16 passenger van...
  2. Radical...the front end looks like it's been bent inward..
  3. Well, as has been said countless times, the vast majority of consumers are ignorant of the RWD aspect or don't care, so for those superficial consumers that only want the brand, this and the FWD 1-series will be their entry ticket to the big leagues.
  4. The interior looks nice, at least from the pics...not the usual gray pit of despair most FWD compacts have...
  5. Ahhh...I remember that name from a Road & Track article from probably 30 years ago or more..
  6. Not sure, but a prototype was at the NY Auto Show last year...the crossover variation most likely will. With the 2015 EPA regs coming, I would expect BMW and M-B to bulk up their entry level lines in the US... True, I keep forgetting or ignoring not sure which about the stupid reg that will force everyone to beef up gas milage. Guess you can have the Econo Section of a BMW and MB lot, but I do think this will be allot harder to them to pull off compared to Chevy and Cadillac. Different niche...this is for the subcompact/compact premium niche...above Mini, where the Audi A3, BMW 1-series, Lexus CT currently are...and a likely future Cadillac subcompact will be. I understand what you are saying, but none of those would I ever consider due to how big I am and I have never liked the way a front wheel drives. I wouldn't consider them either, but you aren't the target consumer, neither am I...there are plenty of buyers out there that would consider such cars, esp. women and younger buyers that want a premium brand, premium content and refinement without a premium price or size...

  9. Interesting..did Chris Bangle join M-B? Looks like some Bangled surfacing on the doors....I assume they will have a trunked version for hatchback-avoiding Americans...
  10. All I know about St Cloud is that St Cloud State U is there, where a buddy of mine in Colorado went to school...he was always talking about abelskivers and the Abelskiver Days festival in his hometown of Tyler, Mn.
  11. Hmmm.....the orange and 'mileage' hint makes me think of that strange trapazoid shaped electric city car from the late '70s, don't know the company name or where it was built, though... Edit: it was the Citicar I was thinking of, but apparently those were built in Florida...
  12. Cross Coupe looks interesting... like the grille and the C-pillar--nice to see a solid C-pillar on a CUV/SUV instead of a predictable quarter window. So isn't the Golf cabrio redundant w/ the Eos?
  13. This morning saw a silver Volt in a parking lot in downtown Tempe plugged in at a charging station..first I've seen in the wild like that. Also saw a sharp red G8 on the freeway w/ black wheels and Holden Commodore badging. Also saw an early Plymouth Horizon TC3 in faded orange in traffic..
  14. Went to a NASCAR race today...was fun but exhausting..on the way out, saw a clean bronze '78-79 Caddy pickup...think it was a Mirage-style conversion and not a flower car (didn't have the weird stainless steel raised bed). Saw a big McMansion out in a farm area amidst shacks that had a CTS-v coupe, CTS sedan, Escalade, and XLR-v parked in the garage w/ the garage doors open..
  15. On this morning's Starbucks run saw a new Lexus GS in black, not bad, but the rear reminds me of several other cars..also a red '62 Corvette in clean shape.
  16. Unfortunately, it's a C4...never cared for that generation.
  17. definitely a Maverick. if you look closely, it says FORD across the rear valence. The Comet was a Mercury; and if I remember correctly, they had quite a schnoz. Yes, and with the split grille, it's a '76-77. Here's the Comet of the same years..Comet had 2 taillights per side (which appear tvery similar to '70-71 Cyclone which had 3 per side)
  18. Saw a variety of interesting stuff on the commute home tonite: Not 1, but 4 '70s Rancheros---very clean dark blue '74-76, a solid white '70-71, a well-worn white and primer '72, and a solid white '77-79. Great convertible weather---saw a red w/ white coves '58-60 Corvette, top down, a clean pale green '69-70 deVille convertible, and a stereotypical red w/ tan interior '70s 450SL roadster. A well worn but still running white w/ yellow roof '65 Caddy 4dr ht A clean black '46-48 Ford coupe
  19. Camaro limo, eh? Sounds horrific. Did a google and found this gem: As far as the thread goes, the only interesting things I've seen today are the olive '71 Road Runner in my office parking garage again and a clean red mid '80s 911 w/ turbo look...
  20. Makes sense..if you grew up w/ minivans and FWD appliances, I could see not being a car nut/gearhead...most vehicles today are just disposable appliances, nothing to get attached to. Besides the Mustangs and Cougars, my folks had Town Cars and T-Birds....I still have a soft spot for Lincolns.
  21. Hmmm... Maybe it's time Fiat does some product placement on Jersey Shore...get Snooki and The Situation 500s....would help them w/ the youth demographic maybe... Chrysler has been doing product placement on other TV shows (Challenger, Chargers and 300s in Southland, for example), couldn't hurt..
