  1. I usually see them referred to as 'driving lights' more than 'fog lights'. I know w/ my Jeep I use them when driving at night when outside of a well-lit area as it is nice to be able to see the area 10-20 feet in front of the vehicle...most of my cars have had them (factory, not down w/ aftermarket lights) since 1987. Not sure if they really are effective in fog, I drive so very rarely in it.....probably 95% of my driving day or night is urban or suburban, but once in a while I'm out on the interstate at night away from the metro area and then usually use the driving lights..
  2. then
  3. Prius sells quite well..they are ubiquitous. Pure electrics are still in their early adopter phase, will be interesting to see how they do over time.
  4. I googled the van..found it..the '66 Electrovan, based on a Handivan. http://www.hydrogencarsnow.com/gm-electrovan.htm
  5. Interesting historical tidbit...don't think I'd heard of the electric Corvairs. Wasn't there an electric or fuel cell Chevy van in the mid '60s also?
  6. My normal daily commute round trip is maybe 25 miles, but I like the predictability of approx 350 mile range and an abundant # of gas stations around..
  7. Jimmie Johnson
  8. I didn't look closely at the wheels of the green one on display at B-J last month, but they were probably 15s. Saw a green one behind a Scion iQ in traffic last week.
  9. Chevy UK site lists them as 13s. Autoblog says the US version gets 15 inchers.
  10. The taller height gives plenty of headroom, who knows, maybe retro-hipsters will make the tophat cool again...
  11. Obesity is a national epidemic...the proliferation of fast food and poor diets are a major quality of life issue that needs to be addressed, but that's a topic for another forum...
  12. Looking forward to the eventual thrilling magazine comparison tests w/ the Focus Electric, i, and Leaf...
  13. The new dash seems to be an improvement over the current one with it's odd circular top to the center stack...
  14. acreage
  15. Yeah...I've heard that also..esp. with the younger crowd that don't know of the older cars..though the older ones have been featured in many movies over the years, so some have seen images of 'em..
  16. WoW. I've only seen one of these in person, they are pretty incredible... I'd love to see one of the '59 or '60s..
  17. Yeah, the ES has a geriatric image, but I do know two people that bought them--both were under 30...
  18. Blech...can't imagine paying 30s for a 4cyl FWD appliance..
  19. Probably will be priced closer to the Mitsubishi i than the Leaf..
  20. I've had the Drive soundtrack on constant play in the car this week....love the retro '80s synth pop sound of it...here's the first 3 tracks.. 'Nightcall' by Kavinsky 'Under Your Spell' by Desire http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTbs2TI-HaM 'A Real Hero' College feat Electric Youth
  21. I was thinking about that..the Portifino concept from the '80s...was pretty cool.
  22. Speaking of unusual doors, maybe if Lamborghini ever builds the Esotique or other 4dr model, maybe they will do 4 scissor doors, w/ the rear ones opening backward...
  23. Maybe something was lost in translation from kg to lbs.
  24. Maybe I'll get invited to a drive event for the ATS....I went to one in '07 for the '08 CTS and one for the Merc C-class...
