  1. Checked AutoTrader locally (Phoenix area): 77k miles, $6999 105k miles, $5100 120k, $3988
  2. Edmunds isn't what I'd exactly call the best pricing source out there. Here are some Auto Trader listings that I searched for within a 300 mile radius of my zip code. I searched for a Chevrolet Cobalt with over 100,000 miles and brought up the highest mileage cars first. Here's what a few dealers are demanding for their high-mileage Cobalts. 2005 Cobalt Sedan, no options, 186,211 miles, $4,500 wig-wams, location: Michigan 2005 Cobalt Sedan, no options, 194,971 miles, $4,988 bucks, location: Kentucky 2005 Cobalt Sedan, no options, 149,518 miles, $9,995 big fat, filthy dollars, location: South Carolina Madness....all are very high mileage for a 7yr old car and outrageous pricing...
  3. Depends if it's miles or KM, but 175k miles is a lot for an '05....Edmunds estimates shows trade in value as US $994, private party price of about $1800, dealer price of about $2700 in 85014. In Canada the numbers would differ, no doubt, eh.
  4. Was sitting at a light and glanced to my right and spotted a dark red Jensen Interceptor coupe and a white British convertible of some sort in a fenced in lot behind a strip joint...
  5. Noticed the front row at the local Chevy store this morning--2 '13 Malibus--one white and one dark red (like the magazine road test cars), a bright red Camaro LS, a black Camaro SS convertible, and a black Volt...
  6. I think they can do it..the current CTS is fundamentally a very good product, and I expect the next one will be also..
  7. I suppose GM just couldn't use the LaCrosse to compete w/ the MKS and ES, which is a more natural competitor for those models than something from Cadillac... True- look at the 'Steering Wheel to A-Pillar Base' of each. The old cab-forward idea which hasn't gone away..unfortunately, with that stubby, sloping hood and lights coming half way up the fender, the XTS nose in profile looks like it was inspired by the Yaris..it needs at least an extra 6 inches of wheelbase, with at least 4 of it ahead of the firewall...111.7 is way too short for a fullsize.
  8. I like these Cruze paint schemes better...it's pretty cool that a Cruze has won the WTCC the last 3 years...
  9. Sure...those have been one of my favorite rentals over the years, always enjoy floating around in them...
  10. The A4/5/6/7 have better proportions than the A8, but the A8 isn't bad...doesn't look like a typical weak FWD profile.
  11. Vile. Front end-ick. Chopped top-ick. The rear pan/taillight thingy is kind of neat, though.
  12. Hmmm...with Plymouth gone, how would it be branded? As a Chrysler?
  13. Audis are AWD in the US. And except for the A3, they don't have transverse engines and thus don't suffer from the weak too-short front wheel-to-door distance that transverse FWD models suffer from..their proportions are closer to RWD..
  14. Definitely makes me think of a a NASCAR paint scheme...if it were on an Impala, could slap on a bunch of sponsor stickies for more of a race-inspired look..
  15. Here's how it turned out..
  16. Seems like a reasonable price for the low mileage and good condition. Hondas and Acuras of that era had clean, crisp styling...I like the large glass area and nicely proportioned hood and decklid length, and the headlight/grille treatment is still probably the best of the Accords, IMO.
  17. Anyway, enough of my tangent. Back to the thread topic, it's going to be interesting to see what they do w/ the next CTS...can't tell much from the spy pics but it looks evolutionary from the current model...maybe it will have some rounded edges like the ATS...
  18. Don't forget the single yellow wiper..
  19. I don't think the ES has been a 250 in over 10 years...it's the 350 currently..and GM has Buick to sell such models..and again, BMW and M-B don't have such things in their lineups...3,5,6,7....C-,E-,CLS-, S-class...all RWD goodness w/ no mainstream FWD in sight.
  20. WIth BMW and M-B, though, the vast majority of their cars are proper RWD luxury cars, not FWD appliances. That is the difference, and it makes all the difference in the world... I couldn't imagine paying $60k let alone $30k for a FWD appliance. FWD is fine for cheap appliances, but not for anything serious...maybe it's a generational thing and all the younger buyers have grown up w/ FWD and don't know any better...
  21. The great majority of consumers are sheep that only believe what is written in Consumer Reports. Cadillac is supposed to be above that... a luxury brand, not pushing common, mainstream FWD appliances..Cadillac should .leave the appliances to Chevy and Buick and focus on serious, RWD luxury cars.
  22. Saw not 1 but two very clean and sharp late '80s Camaro convertibles today, tops down. A white RS and a black Z-28, both w/ aftermarket 18 inch or so IROC-style wheels.
  23. Macan, eh? Better than Cajun, I guess....
  24. That's kind of a low blow and not relevant to the topic at hand.
