  1. Outrageous..those look like they would be the ideal commuter vehicles for dfelt. I like the ones w/ the Expedition body. I recall seeing a Chevy Kodak one years ago w/ a Suburban body..
  2. Interesting...one detail change I've seen on a few 5th gens is using chrome bow ties w/ a dark blue inset area, ala 1969 style.. I like that..haven't seen them done body color.
  3. A $50k-100k sports car shouldn't be sharing interior parts with $20k econoboxes. Typical GM cheapassing...
  4. GM is only going to do trim upgrades in the Camaro and the Vette with the major work already started on the C7 and 6th Gen. It would be a great waste of money to do a major overhaul on such short term cars. While the present interiors could be better they are so bad that they need major work. The improvment in the seats and steering will get them by till the new car is ready. Noe it is not that far off. 2012 is the 8th model year of the C6...they could have at least given the interior an MCE a few years ago..a car at this price point should at least have it's own steering wheel...
  5. Looking at the photos on Autoblog today, realized the rear 3/4 view (esp. the C-pillar and quarter window) of the hatchback reminds me of the Caliber, without the black plastic trim the Caliber has...
  6. One of the best ones I saw years ago due to name ownership moving around from M&As was an RC2/ERTL diecast Hudson Hornet, labeled on the packaging as a Chrysler Hornet...
  7. Haven't found the Ute either..didn't realize the CTS-V wagon had been out that long...will pick 'em up on eBay eventually if I can't find 'em locally..
  8. Happy Birthday!
  9. I found a bunch of new '11 issue Matchboxes, incl. the silver Caddy CTS coupe. Haven't found the red CTS-v wagon or blue early '70s Firebird Formula yet.
  10. Skylark and Skyhawk just sound so dated, not necessarly implying a bad vehicle... Maybe Verano Sport to link it to the Verano. Or GSC.
  11. When EVs have performance comparable to a normal car, can be driven at least 350 miles between charge ups, can be recharged in under 5 minutes (comparable to a gas tank fill up), when charging points are as ubiquitous as gas stations, and can be driven for under $50/week (a typical gas fill up for me), then I might have some interest...
  12. Won't go very far until it runs out of gas, though. Need something like Fred Flintstone's car..not dependent on electricity or fossil fuel..
  13. Because the J body was far worse the Odyessey or G20 (though the first gen of the G37 was really the G35, the FWD G20 is unrelated)....
  14. Interesting...first I've heard of Omega...maybe the successor to Zeta?
  15. Must keep it waxed and in the shade..doesn't have the usual AZ paint oxidation. I saw a black Maxima today that couldn't have been over 5 years old or so and the roof, hood, and decklid were mostly gray/white... Sits in the sun all day at work in the garage once home .... hummmm notice just one thing, it's not black, and I NEVER put wax on cars. I've seen oxidized white cars here also...

  17. Cool..that tray is very similar to the ice trays in my folks' '67 GE fridge, it lasted about 35 years...
  18. I can't imagine a scenario where I'd buy a subcompact, but I'd probably get a Mini over any of the more pedestrian models..at least it has style.
  19. Hmmmm...some sort of Frigidaire appliance?
  20. It just seems too young and sporty for Buick..doesn't fit w/ Buick's image of silver, comfort-oriented sedans w/ automatics. Could have made a nice little Pontiac.
  21. Though GM seems to have given up on 2- and 3-dr FWD models in NA, this car would be a nice addition to the Chevy line IMO...give it an identity distinct from the Cruze, maybe call it a Monza.
  22. Perhaps, but using which platform? Kappa was based on the Corvette's Y-body (at least conceptually) making it extremely inflexible. GM would require a) to develop or redevelop such a platform, or b) adapt the smaller RWD architecture (Alpha) for such a vehicle. I think that dynamically both solutions would work equally well, so the choice comes down to cost: where does GM get the biggest margin from? A small sporty coupe needs to be light, though...I doubt if Alpha (if it ever sees production) will be very light..(maybe at least 3500lbs?)
  23. I've only seen Jukes on the Nissan dealer lot...can't recall seeing one on the street yet.. Of course, GM once had a subcompact CUV--remember the Chevy Tracker? More conventional looking than the juke..
  24. Isn't it much smaller than the Rogue? More a subcompact CUV/WUV (wierd utility vehicle) while the Rogue is a compact CUV?
  25. Well, each his own. I would not abuse a $32K SUV any more than a $60K one. Well, I was living in Colorado..wanted to experience the offroading and trail roads..it's a lot of fun, and the Grand Cherokee is very capable. Part of having a Jeep in Colorado is hitting the back country. I didn't buy it to just drive to the mall like all the mainstream posers.
