  1. Wow...I was skeptical that GM would do a 3dr Buick hatch, but this is quite promising...and the CC would be a great addition to the line.
  2. I'm very excited for September to arrive!! Cool...I wonder if the Star Wars Holiday Special will be included in the extras..I don't think it's ever been released...saw it as a kid in 1978.
  3. I think it is for a different reason: GM has stated so many times that Cadillac is supposed to be going after MB and BMW, that people have expected the brand not to go after the Lexus RX instead of the X3 and X5... IMHO, that's what the complaints are about. Cadillac does deserve the credit of SRX sales voume being very interesting. Yes, they aimed for the lowest common denominator (RX) to get sales volume..they got volume, but no luxury credibility when compared w/ the more serious X5, ML, LR2 and RR Sport..
  4. The NV200, by the way, is a minivan smaller than the Quest and has been out in Europe and Asia since 2009.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_NV200 (trivia--it's predecessor in Europe was the Kubistar (cool name) that was based on the Renault Kangoo).
  5. Is this 'LFX' real or just more speculation? (the acronym sounds like a plausable name for a Lexus Cayenne competitor..., LF-X).
  6. Cadillac doesn't make a single taxi cab or garbage truck. Apples and oranges...GM has Chevy for the trucks and taxis...M-B is a full line brand, and has a long history of trucks..(though Daimler has many other truck brands incl. Freightliner).
  7. Exactly..the S-class is a worthy purchase..it's the best overall of its niche--a big, serious solid luxury sedan, w/ proper RWD and V8 (and V12) configurations..quiet, smooth and fast w/ lots of technology, great build quality and materials, clean, understated design.. The XTS will be fine for the DTS intenders and Avis.
  8. They do when it's the Mercedes S-class. Problem is Cadillac needs credibility, which could be gained with a successful flagship, however, the flagship probably won't sell because of their brand image. They are sort of in a lose-lose. The S-class pays the bills by being a Taxi, Rental car fleet, and business airport car fleet whore..... the same way the Towncar does. It pays the bills, and it is a better status symbol than any car BMW, Audi, Jaguar, Lexus or Cadillac has. All those brands wish they had the S-class, it's image, it's history, and it's revenue. as long as I can get mine with a meter and a card swipe. Can't do that in the US...I bet 99% of US S-class buyers are unaware of their use in Germany (considering Americans have so few passport holders).
  9. I want to install a 5.0 V8 into a Town Car or the LS sedan.. a sleeper Its a crime against nature, but I'd rather see a LSA or 392 Hemi installed in a Town Car/LS sedan than the 5.0. I'm just not into the 5.0, or Fords modular V8s for that matter. Aggghhh...so wrong on so many levels...like trying to breed a dog w/ a cat.. I really like Ford's new 5.0 from what I've read...
  10. This afternoon: a bright red '11 Camaro convertible, top up a red-orange '75-77 Camaro Type LT in solid shape a black '06 Monte Carlo SS (the only year w/ the V8?) a black and silver early '00s Monte Carlo Dale Earnhardt Edition
  11. Too bad they don't offer a final edition of the Town Car w/ the new 5.0 engine. Or w/ the GT500's 5.4 engine. And suspension and brake improvements. That would be a Hot Rod Lincoln I'd want to own.. It's just hard for me to take the FWD models seriously.
  12. Saw a '67 Chevy Impala 2dr ht, pale yellow w/ white vinyl top, in worn but solid condition in traffic whilst driving into Scottsdale this morning...
  13. Yes, that's what it reminds me the most of, or the Audi model (A4,A5,A6). M-B has abandoned that approach since they now have the C-class coupe and convertible and E-class coupe and convertible.
  14. Someone on CNN said burial at sea..
  15. I think on that era Corvette, there was little plastic body work. In that if they were wrecked they totaled them? or other cars weren't fiberglass? because from the beginning vettes have been fiberglass fiberglass != plastic
  16. Looking forward to it...preordered it for my Kindle.
  17. I saw 1/2 dozen of those at a car show a few years ago, mostly convertibles..interesting body kit..called a C53 Commemorative Edition. http://images.loqu.com/photos/829/288/corvette-c53-commemorative-edition.jpg
  18. To deter his stalkers..
  19. Outrageous..those look like they would be the ideal commuter vehicles for dfelt. I like the ones w/ the Expedition body. I recall seeing a Chevy Kodak one years ago w/ a Suburban body..
  20. Interesting...one detail change I've seen on a few 5th gens is using chrome bow ties w/ a dark blue inset area, ala 1969 style.. I like that..haven't seen them done body color.
  21. A $50k-100k sports car shouldn't be sharing interior parts with $20k econoboxes. Typical GM cheapassing...
  22. GM is only going to do trim upgrades in the Camaro and the Vette with the major work already started on the C7 and 6th Gen. It would be a great waste of money to do a major overhaul on such short term cars. While the present interiors could be better they are so bad that they need major work. The improvment in the seats and steering will get them by till the new car is ready. Noe it is not that far off. 2012 is the 8th model year of the C6...they could have at least given the interior an MCE a few years ago..a car at this price point should at least have it's own steering wheel...
  23. Looking at the photos on Autoblog today, realized the rear 3/4 view (esp. the C-pillar and quarter window) of the hatchback reminds me of the Caliber, without the black plastic trim the Caliber has...
  24. One of the best ones I saw years ago due to name ownership moving around from M&As was an RC2/ERTL diecast Hudson Hornet, labeled on the packaging as a Chrysler Hornet...
  25. Haven't found the Ute either..didn't realize the CTS-V wagon had been out that long...will pick 'em up on eBay eventually if I can't find 'em locally..
