  1. Is that realistic, though? How many people are that tall and haul around other people that tall? Basketball teams, maybe, but not the general public..
  2. At least it adds a bit of color to an otherwise depressing gray interior. One thing I've not liked about the V-series models so far are the grim interiors. They need some color..Cadillac should offer the regular CTS interior color and trim choices (tan leather, wood, etc) as options in the CTS-v.
  3. It's um....different. The last 25 years of FWD full size Cadillacs (deVille, DTS) didn't have such odd proportions. The nose is so short. The short front wheel well to door distance screams FWD genericism. The greenhouse looks like the current Malibu stretched out. Oh well. The interior is nice, though. 2nd thought..maybe GM with this (and the LaCrosse) is doing their spin on cab forward, maximizing the cabin space w/ minimal front and rear.
  4. Another car I like so far is the VW 'compact coupe concept'..i.e. NG Jetta coupe. Kind of resembles a scaled down A5. Great interior. Will be interesting to see what tommorow brings.
  5. Delta
  6. I've been happy w/ my Western Digital 250GB Passport drive. Amazon has the 500GB ones for $99 currently. I also use the Mozy service to back up to the cloud.
  7. How about vandalism? I've been tempted to seriously door ding assclowns that park too close to me--so close I can't even get in on the left side.
  8. Another car choice I like as a city car is a Crown Vic PI, in dark brown, gray or black, w/ a few scratches and dents. Tinted windows, black steel wheels, push bars on the front bumper. Perfect for driving around a city, wouldn't worry about door dings.
  9. I drove a Sebring convertible in '08 as a rental. Drove decently enough, but the interior was painfully cheap in terms of materials, fit and finish, the driver's seat adjustment lever came off in my hand, the trunk was ridiculously tiny considering how huge the decklid was, etc. I can't imagine the consumer-grade trim levels would be any better.
  10. And so the drama continues. Stay tuned next week... will whitenight get his T/A in 2010? Or will it take a few more years? Stay tuned.. j/k
  11. Well, a production version would give GM something to play in the xB/XD/Cube/Soul funkybox segment.
  12. 2012 Focus looks great from the pics I've seen today...has a mix of Fiesta and Mondeo styling cues.
  13. Looks really good..looking at the pics, hard to believe it has that many miles. Friends of mine used to have a very clean '90 in a light blue-green, had only about 140k when they traded it for a Volvo 850 estate...
  14. Interesting... one thing I wonder--how far north are there palm trees growing in the US? I've been to Sacramento a couple times, IIRC there are palm trees there also. The palm trees, orange trees, grapefruit trees, bouganvillea and green lawns are one of the things I do like about my n. central Phoenix neighborhood..doesn't look deserty..not a cactus or sand in sight. 15. Heavy load in the trunk?
  16. Great photos. SF is so photogenic. I've long had an interest w/ the area...been drawn there several times in my career...for conferences at Moscone Center a few times and for 4 job offers in SF and the Silicon Valley (San Jose, Sunnyvale), all of which I ultimately turned down because of the obscene cost of living relative to Denver and other places I like...
  17. City car: Jeep Grand Cherokee Suburbia car: Jeep Grand Cherokee Country car: Jeep Grand Cherokee In my experience, they work well in any of these environs. It's been my ideal daily driver in any environment this past decade. My M3 worked great in all 3 also, esp. rural winding, twisty roads. I wouldn't necessarily take in on dirt roads, though. I did drive my Mustang to the top of Pike's Peak, though.
  18. Only a couple inches longer, according to the preliminary specs posted on Allpar..about 189 inches. Nice tidy size. Allpar has the best pics..these are from the time of the '09 NYIAS unveiling...love the interior and exterior (esp. the pics of the gray one in Moab. Allpar '11 GC
  19. Saw a couple nice GM oldies today...a very clean, unrestored-looking '83-84 Monte Carlo SS in white w/ dk blue interior and a silver '71-72 Ventura II in silver w/ large Pro Touring/G-Machine style wheels (aluminum rims, black spokes). Very sharp.
  20. Speaking of iPods, for my iPod classic I got a Marware ruggedized shell. I've dropped my iPod many times w/ no problems, the screen is still in perfect shape after 4 years in this protector, and the shell has held up very well. Looking at their site, it looks like they have several items for the iPhone.
  21. Also, the Auction Block gold/white one is a '70 (different grille). Here's a pic of the club issue camper..

  23. Congrats... I was confused at first, thinking Dan Savage was Michael Savage, the deranged radio talker..
