  1. Cool..another diesel Merc... there are still quite a few of them running around here in AZ. It seems like any W123 (even the coupes) I see is a diesel..
  2. Yes..it's got the faux-rugged, tough look on generic FWD hardware. Nothing wrong with that...that's just what it is.
  3. Well, in Mexico, the drug cartels have guns also.., lots of American assault rifles If I moved out of the US, I'd like go to either Canada (BC), New Zealand, Australia, the UK, France, or Italy.
  4. The yellow phase on some lights here, esp. in Phoenix and Scottsdale, seem very short compared to what I'm used to in the Denver area. My # 1 intersection irritant in Phoenix are the intersections w/ turn lanes but no green arrows.
  5. I don't believe that.. Canada has good gun laws and much less violent crime than the US, even taking into account the huge population difference. I've never understood the gun 'culture' in the US...I just don't see any reason (for someone not in law enforcement or the military) to own a gun.
  6. I prefer the Acadia styling to the Terrain..the Acadia is clean and smooth, refined looking...the Terrain just looks faux-macho and goofy to me.
  7. Happy birthday guys! May all you cars grow B-pillars, 68...
  8. Yes, no doubt similar to Ohio... I've lived in metro NE Ohio (in a very liberal college town and the Cleveland area) and in rural E. Ohio, which seems as about as scary conservative to me as the Deep South/Bible Belt.
  9. Another sighting this morning was a white 5dr Chevrolet Chevy. (Mexico market model based on an old Opel Corsa).
  10. GM phased out Olds about the same time they brought in HUMMER..that's all, no correlation otherwise.
  11. Cool... that's different. Thought maybe you would go the 'Fast and Furious' route instead with a body kit, single yellow wiper, huge rear wing, fart muffler, and wide wheels/tires.
  12. Alas, all those qualities are negated by the FWD/transverse V6 platform. So it ends up a poser.
  13. Yes, but it's not the same... HUMMER is no substitute for Olds.
  14. Agreed..two different problems. Red light running is a much bigger problem...huge issue here in Phoenix, lots of red light cameras here.
  15. Yeah, it's a pretty fundamental GM brand. HUMMER, Saturn and SAAB can go, no big loss..but a GM without Buick would be like a GM without Cadillac or Oldsmobile..
  16. Add an orange lightning-bolt tail and some pink spots on the front, and it would kind look like Pikachu.
  17. Agreed... it has a lot going for it, infinitely preferable to Texas from my POV. Besides Colorado, Oregon, and Washington, California is one of the few states I could see myself living in...
  18. I wonder if any of the domestic makers will jump into this market...Ford has a ton of CUVs and SUVs now, maybe an Edge variant with a Mustang-like roofline.. Or some variant of the MKT..
  19. Good point..they usually are a blue state in the elections.
  20. I'm not Catholic or religious, but I've thought a Latin Mass would be an interesting thing to experience, ever since I went to St. Peters and the Vatican..fascinating place. (I've always found touring churches/duomos/cathedrals/abbeys in Europe to be a lot of fun, esp. for the historical and architectural aspects).
  21. Scream, the new Chris Cornell Timbaland-produced album...interesting stuff, hearing a hard rock voice w/ hip-hoppish electromodern pop beats...
  22. Rather surprising to see Iowa doing this...I guess they aren't as repressed and backward as Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas or other states in the middle of the country.
  23. It's purely a revenue generator..they try and sell the cameras as 'public safety', but it's all about the revenue... pretty controverial here currently.
  24. I'm sure this is a big problem here in AZ with the millions of illegal Spanish speakers...
  25. Dogs will get into anything, it seems. Last summer after the monsoon storms, parts of the back yard were muddy messes... so the Westies (which are usually clean and white), went out in the yard and came back in the house coated in mud..all over their paws, bellys, faces, etc. Fun, fun...
