I don't fear robots like Bender. It's the robots from Cyberdyne.Skynet and those darn T-800s, T-1000s...those robots, I worry about. Google is the realization of Cyberdyne; they are going to build Skynet in the 'cloud'.

I think it's the grille I don't care for, and the general blockyness in profile,the disjointed greenhouse (the rear quarter windows seem to be an afterthought) it's not a very cohesive design, IMHO. As far as the Yukon goes, it's not so much the grille, but the vertical headlights..the headlight treatment makes it look tall and narrow, IMHO. The Tahoe lighting treatment is much more pleasing, IMHO. (The Tahoe and 'Burban are the best looking big SUVs IMHO).

I grew up with German Shepherds...mine that I got as a puppy at age 6 lived to 15, I was away in college when she passed...that hit me hard..the same with the other two Shepherds my folks got when I was in 10 and 15, respectively. I seem some Battlestar Galactica/sci fi styling cues as far the front end and dash.. An example of a polarizing GM design is the Aztek--people found either it bland or disgusting.

Been there, and understand... I'm very sorry to hear that. Over the last year, my blended family of dogs (my 2 + my sister's 3 that I care for when she's working out of town) have become a very important part of my life...I love coming home from work and having terriers jump in my lap and slurp my face, fall asleep on the couch beside me, etc. Except for the puppy and one other, all are 10-11 years old and two are rescue dogs, so who knows how old they will live to be..one of my sister's Westies has had two ACL surgeries in the last 3 years. My Mom had to put down one of her German Shepherds last month, she was 15 with spreading cancer.

With this design theme, I think they need a new slogan for GMC---Maybe something bold like 'GMC iz truk!' (with that spelling).

Maybe they will give the Acadia an MCE with a huge grille like the Terrain..

I have plenty of my own...probably use the words 'generic', 'complexity', 'synergy' and 'context' too often. And 'plorchers!' as a word of surprise (like 'strewth!' or 'wow!'). Also, sh*tastic, asshat, touron (Tourist+moron), Ameritard, Generica, Genericans are all words I use online and in 1:1. I have some good nicknames for my dogs--for my Aussie Terrier Nauti I call her 'Bitey', 'Bitey Beast', and 'Ms. Jeckyll' (her AKC show name is Naughty and Nice, which accurately describes the duality of her persona; my Yorkie puppie Ginger is also 'GinjaB', 'BLB' (Baby Love Beast--the 'Baby Love' part inspired by the Diana Ross song), and 'Baby Beast'.

Definitely.. looking to see where they go with the 4th gen.

The Journey is not bad...much nicer than the ugly Nitro..

My favorite in the midsizers (though it's more of an SUV than a CUV) is the Grand Cherokee, it's the only one I would seriously consider...and Jeep has an authenticity that the others can't claim, and RWD.

I wonder when the midsize CUV market is going to die down. The compact CUV market seems like it was booming in the last couple of years, though GMNA of course has nothing in that segment (the Vue is too big and heavy, more of a midsizer).

Jack from the Jack in the Box chain. It was an interesting variety of cars... saw some that I didn't know existed, like a '65 Lamborghini Zagato and a mid '30s Auburn 812 Town Sedan.

I went to see the cars lined up at the start of the Copperstate 1000 Road Rally today...neat variety of classics... here's some pics of some of the cars. I hear you...beautiful spring day here, 75 and sunny. I went to the Copperstate 1000 classic car road rally kickoff this morning---saw a bunch of beautiful classic cars on a baseball diamond (where the Los Angeles Angels do their spring training), then drove in the desert to the east to Apache Junction..great weather to drive along w/ the windows down and watch the cars in the rally drive by me... drove around some looking at the spring flora and flauna in the desert. Been a good weekend...went to a Bruce Springsteen concert Friday night, was about 3hrs, great show, stayed up late.

Went to the starting event for the Copperstate 1000 road rally today, held at a baseball park in Tempe. Was a lot of fun, saw a nice variety of vintage Ferraris, Aston Martins, Rolls Royces, a 1928 Bentley, a 4dr Auburn 812 (didn't know Auburn had other bodystyles than the boattail speedster in the mid '30s), a few Mercedes, as well as some '60s Corvettes, Shelbys, and a couple Pro-Touring style musclecars ('69 Camaro, '66 GTO). Nah, this was something else...I thought you posted it...it was primered gray w/ aftermarket slotted mags, had a formal C-pillar very similar to a '67-68 Caprice, with a similar arc to the quarter panel...thought it might be a Laurel or Cedric, but I couldn't find any other pics that looked quite the same.. I'll search for the thread..

Ya...they definitely had some interesting designs...one that sticks in my head was a car that 68 or someone posted last year that I'm not sure was identified, but it was a Datsun (I think) that had a roofline and rear quarter like a scaled down '68 Caprice coupe.

Eagles were cool...ahead of their time...had the whole crossover thing (esp. Outback/Allroad style) down 30 years ago... For an older AMC, I wouldn't mind having a later Grand Wagoneer.

Kinda cool..the first one reminds me of a '64-65 Falcon, vaguely..maybe it's the roof. I've got a Tomica 1:64th scale diecast of the 2nd one.

Ah..interesting. Never heard it. I like 'reality context', of which my location is a part of..

It's got to be difficult for GM to attract top talent...how are they going to get the best and the brightest to move there?
