  1. Yeah, I read it (online) occasionally, but the San Jose Mercury News (online) is the better paper IMHO, and has a strong focus on the tech industry in the Silicon Valley, which is why I read some articles on it pretty much daily.
  2. While driving home tonite, I saw a car in my rearview mirror that I realized resembles the Terrain--except for the grille detail, the front end shape--lighting, fascia, etc of the Mercury Mariner is quite similar, albeit 'softer' and probably smaller.
  3. Those are hiliarious!!
  4. Speaking of Packards, I saw this one up close yesterday at the Copperstate 1000 kickoff...beautiful car.
  5. The SMART is RWD, and rear engined! Just like a 911! Sort of.
  6. There is a significant difference between being patriotic and ranting like a delusional paranoid or a late night talk radio loony.
  7. I'd recommend a HAZMAT suit..
  8. Maybe..here is the Pininfarina BO, the 'Bluecar' electric car he was rhapsodizing about toward the end of the article: Bluecar
  9. I read it yesterday...he probably worships the Prius.
  10. As far as styling goes, I think my favorite current GMC SUV/CUV is the Acadia--I like the headlights and smallish grille, and the profile and detailing.
  11. This was one of the points addressed on the video..designer said the wheels/tires are 'tucked in' for aerodynamics..i.e. fuel efficiency.
  12. I stick w/ Chevron and Shell...because they are the closest to home and the office.
  13. The area around the foglights remind me of an exaggerated version of the foglight area on the GLK that I find so strange...reminds me of the tinfoil helmet of Professor Chaos on 'South Park'...
  14. One of the guys in the video said something about the interior being 'mostly unique'. This grille shape reminds me of the Audi shield grille shape. I think one aspect of the front I really don't like, more than the grille, is how tall and blunt it is--the height of the front end from the base of the airdam to the hood seems very tall and flat. Without measuring with a tape measure, the front vertically seems about 50% taller than some older SUVs of a similar size.
  15. 68 needs this: AFDB!
  16. I don't fear robots like Bender. It's the robots from Cyberdyne.Skynet and those darn T-800s, T-1000s...those robots, I worry about. Google is the realization of Cyberdyne; they are going to build Skynet in the 'cloud'.
  17. I think it's the grille I don't care for, and the general blockyness in profile, the disjointed greenhouse (the rear quarter windows seem to be an afterthought) it's not a very cohesive design, IMHO. As far as the Yukon goes, it's not so much the grille, but the vertical headlights..the headlight treatment makes it look tall and narrow, IMHO. The Tahoe lighting treatment is much more pleasing, IMHO. (The Tahoe and 'Burban are the best looking big SUVs IMHO).
  18. I grew up with German Shepherds...mine that I got as a puppy at age 6 lived to 15, I was away in college when she passed...that hit me hard..the same with the other two Shepherds my folks got when I was in 10 and 15, respectively. I'm now a confirmed terrier fanatic, with my Aussie and my Yorkie.. Nauti, aka 'Bitey': Ginger:
  19. Or 3) get killed..the ones in Detroit are probably full of rabid dogs, crackheads, homeless people...
  20. I seem some Battlestar Galactica/sci fi styling cues as far the front end and dash.. An example of a polarizing GM design is the Aztek--people found either it bland or disgusting.
  21. Been there, and understand... I'm very sorry to hear that. Over the last year, my blended family of dogs (my 2 + my sister's 3 that I care for when she's working out of town) have become a very important part of my life...I love coming home from work and having terriers jump in my lap and slurp my face, fall asleep on the couch beside me, etc. Except for the puppy and one other, all are 10-11 years old and two are rescue dogs, so who knows how old they will live to be..one of my sister's Westies has had two ACL surgeries in the last 3 years. My Mom had to put down one of her German Shepherds last month, she was 15 with spreading cancer.
  22. With this design theme, I think they need a new slogan for GMC---Maybe something bold like 'GMC iz truk!' (with that spelling).
  23. Maybe they will give the Acadia an MCE with a huge grille like the Terrain..
  24. I have plenty of my own...probably use the words 'generic', 'complexity', 'synergy' and 'context' too often. And 'plorchers!' as a word of surprise (like 'strewth!' or 'wow!'). Also, sh*tastic, asshat, touron (Tourist+moron), Ameritard, Generica, Genericans are all words I use online and in 1:1. I have some good nicknames for my dogs--for my Aussie Terrier Nauti I call her 'Bitey', 'Bitey Beast', and 'Ms. Jeckyll' (her AKC show name is Naughty and Nice, which accurately describes the duality of her persona; my Yorkie puppie Ginger is also 'GinjaB', 'BLB' (Baby Love Beast--the 'Baby Love' part inspired by the Diana Ross song), and 'Baby Beast'.
  25. Definitely.. looking to see where they go with the 4th gen.
