  1. Today was the first day it really felt hot. Car thermometer said 130 when I started, but after a few min w/ the A/C on, it settled down to 100. Though one TV news channel says it was only 98. Well, 6 months of heat begins. Looking forward to getting in pool soon. Supposed to be 102 tomorrow, then cool down to the 90s for a few days.
  2. The pics on the Pontiac Mexico website shows the rear, doesn't have ribbed lights...besides, Pontiac hasn't used that design cue in years....
  3. Yeah, those Daewoo Matizes lack the Excitement!!! of the Pontiac Matiz G2..
  4. Clever.... a few months ago, my blue (recyclables) rolly bin cracked, had to call for a new one...then more recently, I backed over the green bin... has a couple cracks now, duct taped over..
  5. Well, the tallness of the front is probably for meeting ped safety regs. The Enclave is pretty tall in the front also. It's a decent looking minivan/MPV/whatever.
  6. In Phoenix, I have two big rolly bins that I roll out to the street on Tues (blue bin for recyclables--paper, glass, etc) and Friday (green bin for trash and yard clippings that the yard guys put in on Monday).
  7. Yeah, It would make a great April 1 or Onion article, but is apparently real. I can see it now, greenie ultrathin vegans screaming at obese people---'You are destroying the environment! Get thin or die!!"
  8. This just in: fat is not green. Lose weight to help save the planet. Stop global warming by getting thin. Fun for all. Obesity causes Climate Change
  9. Fonts are cool. I enjoyed the Helvetica documentary. I like Arial.
  10. I'd like to see how it works on dog urine... since I'm always cleaning that up off the tile and hardwood floors. Or oil off of the driveway, from my sister's old Merc that can piss a quart in 15 minutes. (I use kitty litter under that car).
  11. I know people that have put 150-200k on Jettas of that vintage.
  12. Easy. Stutz Bearcat. Stutz Bearcat
  13. Plorchers!
  14. The real question, though, does anyone here have experience w/ ShamWow or Zorbeez? Seems like they would be great if they actually work..
  15. Whenever I hear of Billy, I think of the retired baseball player.
  16. Cash in the Trash.
  17. Maybe they could get MC Hawking to do a voice over..he's totally badazz.. MC Hawking's Crib
  18. Partially obscured by the snow, probably GTED...
  19. Ahhhh....I finally see why people are saying it's a truck... the left side of the pic is the rear of a truck. I've been thinking it's the front of a mid '50s GM--Oldsmobile, maybe (big chrome bumper w/ inset grille, rounded roof, etc)
  20. I don't remember either generation having an MCE beyond wheel changes..must have been subtle. Now the '89-96 gen had a few changes over it's run.
  21. I've always been a map fan...loved studying the Rand McNally when my folks were planning vacations. I've long been interested in maps, globes, atlases and cartography in general..things like the path of rivers, state and country borders, etc. I took geography in high school, one of my electives. In the modern era, I love studying Google Maps and Google Earth.
  22. Yeah, it's probably a truck..the pic is pretty fuzzy..something about it reminds me of the shape and front bumper of a mid '50s GM.
  23. Found this on the Denver Post website..had a big snowstorm back home on Friday...in the foreground is an SRX, but in the background? Looks like something from the '50s.
