  1. Those were in the Denver area...the Burbans here in Phoenix are almost all 2wd. A search in PHX turned up an '94 w/ 201k, 4x2 for $3500.
  2. $250? Seriously, though, I checked the cars.com, and in my area a '94 4x4 Burban, rust free, 170k is listed at $4500. Other '93-96s are anywhere from $3500-4999, all with over 150k and rust free. there is a vast amount of used SUVs on the market in Colorado, and the Denver area has the highest % of SUVs registered of any metro area, IIRC.
  3. I've always liked the 300, the Charger less so (just don't care for the styling). Both cars offer a nice alternative to the deadly dull V6 FWD appliances that the mainstream loves.
  4. Does Audi even sell 2wd models in the US anymore? Everything seems to be AWD...
  5. Well, Lincoln has always been their main competitor...aiming at the import players is a recent thing, with the CTS, etc.
  6. I don't think they are aiming at BMW and MB with this product...they are aiming at the at the FWD/AWD, V6 Lexus RX and Acura MDX, which are big sellers at the low end of the luxury CUV/SUV market, and also the Lincoln MKX..it's only domestic competitor.
  7. My favorite movie Firebird had to be the green '73 Formula that was in the John Wayne action flick 'Mc Q'...
  8. Yeah, but didn't the sequels have later cars? Haven't seen them in a long time.
  9. The 360s were a decent size, a bit bigger than I'd want and too truckish... the Grand Cherokee is still the best package for me.
  10. Wierd...it was a thread on CBs.. and GM did the same thing..didn't they call theirs 'Collonade hardtops'? (Ford had theirs from '72-79, GM '73-77). They weren't a regular 4dr sedan because of the frameless door glass. I started a thread on this topic a few weeks ago (Subaru trivia)..
  11. According to the caption, these two are '70 Sport Fury GTs w/ the 440 6 bbl option. Both need a bit of touch up.
  12. 1. Pontiac Firebird Trans Am (Smokey in the Bandit, Hooper) 2. John Voight, father of Angelina Jolie.
  13. A favorite Plymouth style is this '65 Satellite. The '64 Fury and Belvedere had the same hardtop roofline, as did the '64 Dodge Polara and '65 Dodge Coronet. I'm a big fan of the '70-74 Cudas, '68-72 Road Runners and GTXes, and the '69-71 Sport Fury. Here's a sweet '71 Road Runner: Here's a sweet '71 Sport Fury GT:
  14. IIRC, it was an option with just about everybody from around '76-80. IIRC, my folks had one as an option in their '79 Lincoln and my Dad put one in our '78 Southwind and '82 Pace Arrow motorhomes. I remember as a kid listening to it in the motorhome and my Dad playing around on it to get traffic info on cross-country vacations.
  15. Fun....for 5 years in Denver I celebrated Festivus with a party at a friend's house...lots of drunken Canadians, feats of strength (drunken guys pushing a Jeep down the street), and at midnight capped by the throwing of a fully decorated tree off of 2nd floor balcony. Fun times. Enjoying a quiet Xmas with family in Ohio now..30 degrees and sunny today. Will be flying back to Phoenix Sunday..
  16. Wikipedia article on Lima beans I like green beans, white beans, beans with chili...but I can't eat black beans or the bean mud w/ Mexican food..they mess up my stomach.
  17. Well, Chrysler was of Daimler's US brands..
  18. I suspect with the previous gen ones people have imported them to the US as parts (ute bodyshell, etc) and assembled them here using GTO front clips, interior parts, drivetrain and titled them as GTOs, like this one.. Expensive to build, no doubt. I'm sure if the ST doesn't happen, people will build 'em from G8s eventually..
  19. The winters are great..... the summers horrific. The area is kind of dull, at least compared to Denver..
  20. Mag chloride in the Denver area, IIRC. Nothing in Phoenix...
  21. Probably since the Volt is sharing a platform with the Cruze, etc they have to deal with shared production hard points, pedestrian law hood heights, bumper and light height laws, etc..so the car is going to have generic FWD proportions...and I'm sure the Volt is quite aerodynamic as it is.
  22. Extensive time in the wind tunnel, I assume. The '84 Corvette was quite aerodynamic for the time also..
  23. I've always liked this generation Quattroporte...I'd never confuse one with a FWD Buick..has great RWD proportions, long hood, nice rear quarter curves..they look much better in person than in pics, IMHO..
  24. Yes.. a 3rd gen w/ a 4th gen engine would rock. A dark blue '87 IROC-Z would be nice to go with my red '87 Mustang GT. Several buddies in high school had '86-88 Z/28s/IROC-Zs/Trans Ams/GTAs....alas, at our 20th reunion this summer, I don't think any of them still have those cars...most are mainstreamed into Camrys/minivans/SUVs etc now it seems. Myself and one other guy (who has a '75 Duster) still have our HS rides....
  25. I'm taking off until Jan 5... went into work yesterday and today, didn't have much of anything to do, but I had two meetings and 16 billable hours. Looking forward to some time off, will be busy, not looking forward to the cold weather--will be flying to Pittsburgh tomorrow to visit family in Ohio, then to Denver for New Years..
