  1. They just don't care...most people are content in their little Toyota shaped world where nothing bad ever happens and their cars run forever..
  2. Yes, quite the bargain..not to mention you would have something special and relatively rare in the G8, as opposed to yet another pedestrian FWD family sedan.
  3. It would be more accurate to say 'everyone else uses OHC'. Not much pushrod anything left outside of GM and Chrysler V8s.
  4. The bearded guy (Hugo) lives in Colorado now, in construction in one of the ski towns, IIRC. The chick in red is his wife, don't recall her name, and the other woman is a classmate I vaguely remember (looks good for 38). Interestingly, out of a class of 64 from S. Florida, 1/2 dozen incl. myself live in Colorado now. And 1/2 dozen are deceased.
  5. It is lame... I've heard the Escalade referred to as a 'Slade. Crown Victorias as 'Vics or Vickys. Though amongst people that know me or other Jeep owners, I've been known to refer to my Jeep as a GC or JGC. Or my Mercedes as a Merc. One woman Camry owner I know referred to her car as a 'Cammie'... go figure.
  6. And the masses do love their Toyotas... Toyota ownership seems to be a cult-like thing. Everyone I know that owns one always has good things to say about 'em, glowing about their generic FWD boxes.
  7. Not a bad price, competitive w/ the Charger SRT8. Alas, in these economic times, they probably will sell only 50 or so.
  8. I need to get some pics of myself and my Yorkie and my Aussie...they are always glued to me at home, along w/ my sister's 2 Westies and Silky that I'm taking care of.
  9. They need the money... better than crushing them (which the bean counters probably reccomended). Maybe GM needs to hold bake sales or something at their dealers nationwide to raise capital.. I'll take plenty of pics if these cars are at BJ in Jan.
  10. Wild Pontiac prototype pic in yer sig...looks like what a '69 Grand Prix could have looked like had it stayed a B-body.
  11. A guy I used to work with owns a comic book store on the side and goes to Comic-Con every year says he knows a guy who's a big Star Trek fan and named his kids Spock and James Tiberius.
  12. This is the most recent pic I could find of myself..I'm on the right...from my high school reunion last July in Florida.
  13. Love (as in California Love, the song)
  14. Cadillac needs it if they are going to have a 3-series and C-class size and price competitor. But I fear that given GM's current situation, it will get canned and they put a small FWD sedan at Cadillac instead The future for RWD looks bleak at GM, IMHO.
  15. Well, the XLR is hardly a rebadge..it shares some hidden dirty bits w/ the Corvette, little else..even the wheelbase is different. The Cimarron was a Cavalier with a different grille and taillights and other trivial trim differences.
  16. That could work.. I think the problem is with the dealers...why else would Pontiac have the G3, G5 and Torrent? Pontiac dealers wanted them so they can compete with Chevy dealers. And Saturn has models that compete with Chevy and Pontiac/GMC...
  17. These are surreal times. Interesting that with the exception of Toyota in California with NUMMI, none of these transplants are in the West.
  18. Wow..I was planning on going this year, definitely have to go to see these. Had a great time last year.
  19. Yes, and why did the ignorant f*ckers pick the '95 Explorer? The Explorer came out in '91. The 4dr SUV popularity was really launched by the Cherokee in the '80s anyway...
  20. On the '69-71 fuselage cars, the 2dr rooflines always looked too small for the body, esp. on the Chryslers and Imperials. Massive hoods and decklids, relatively tiny roof. The Dodge Polara/Monaco was the best looking of the big coupes, IMHO, the Plymouths looked dowdy with their low rear wheel well cutline and slab sides, IMHO. I esp. like the '70 Monaco 2dr ht...too bad Dodge didn't have an R/T version (Plymouth did have a Sport Fury GT those years).
  21. Gibraltar
  22. I recall being in a Whole Foods a couple years ago and this yuppified couple was calling their approx. 10 yr old daughter 'Schumacher'...odd name for a kid.
  23. I've lived in downtown cores and in outer burbs, I like the burbs more, but often go downtown for dining, sports, culture, etc. When I was in Denver, I lived downtown (LoDo) for 3 years in a loft, enjoyed it quite a bit, but then moved out to Greenwood Village, a suburb right on the light rail...took the rail downtown whenever I wanted to go to attractions downtown. And after I moved, my job moved to within a mile of me, walked to work for a while. Most of my friends are out in the burbs. I love being close to the suburban things like Target, etc..and in some of the burbs, there are great dining choices. If I move back to Denver, I'll eventually move further out in the burbs, but stay close to the light rail, and no more than 30 min from the airport, but have more square footage (my condo downtown was 1000 sq ft, mine in the burbs is 1250 sq ft, I want my next purchase to be a house in the 3000-3500sq ft range w/ a 3 car garage and basement)... On the other hand, here in Phoenix I'm in a nice older neighborhood in the city about 7 miles north of downtown. I work downtown, so it's an easy drive on surface streets down there. I don't go out in the burbs much, too dull, and everything I need is here in the city (Targets, PetSmart, Borders, lots of restuarants).
  24. Nope, thankfully, I've never had to smell baby poop. (I don't remember smelling my own as a baby). Puppy poop seems to have no smell (and the poo that comes out of my 3lb Yorkie puppy is pretty tiny). But cat poop, that's another story...(like the time years ago I accidentally stepped in the litter box in the laundry room barefoot)..
  25. End of the year...slow news time...time for pointless lists over and over again, year after year
