  1. That's a type of what's called a 'lowboy', I think. Maybe a big electrical transformer or some piece of construction equipment.
  2. That Dodd is a democrat from Ohio is just icing on the cake for me. Although to be fair, republican Voinovich is also for the bailout. Chris Isn't Dodd a Democrat from Connecticut?
  3. Rush- Power Windows
  4. I'd like to get an '05-06 or so Rubicon for a summer fun vehicle, to go off-roading in Colorado in the summers. I've taken my GC off road many times, but I'd like something smaller and more hard core so I can go on the more aggro trails. I've been a straight 6 fan for the last decade, w/ my '96 M3 and the '00 GC.
  5. Well, there is the LS460L which are LWB, 202.8 inches. They are a big car..
  6. A couple sources list the LaCrosse at 198.1, but that's immaterial..the W's have long overhangs. The '10 LaCrosse (on the Epsi-Dos platform) I assume will be closer to the Malibu dimensionally..
  7. Well, they would have to have distinct sheetmetal and interiors...like the Traverse and Enclave, Nox and Vue, Impala and LaCrosse, Malibu and '10 LaCrosse. Nothing wrong w/ platform sharing, with sufficient brand-specific differentiation.
  8. That is sweet...I plan to do my MCW resin 1:25th scale model similar to that when I get around to building it eventually... here's a pic of a built one:
  9. Agreed...too many people just can't see the big picture or think beyond themselves and their short-term personal interests. This really needs to be an issue about what is best for the US (and for Canada as well). We've already lost many, many other industries in NA...
  10. I like the Unlimited, though I think a fixed roof version could have done well also. I do wish they had updated and kept the straight 6, V6s are so pedestrian.
  11. Most people just don't care...after all, most all our other consumer products are imported---clothes, TVs, cell phones, etc. As long as people can buy a Honda, Toyota or other reliable appliance to get them to and fro work and to and from Wal-Mart/Target/Costco/Sams Club to stock up on cheap Chinese products, they are content. That's just the way it is in the US, circa 2008.
  12. BPG dealers demand them to compete with Chevy...and Pontiac Canada definitely likes 'em..
  13. I suppose the question is, how is Pontiac going to differentiate themselves from Chevy and Saturn in the subcompact/compact 4cyl space? Hard to do that with badge-engineered Chevy compacts and a Toyota that they have now.
  14. Drool...I love those wagons.
  15. Yes, like the G3--rebadged Chevywoo crap (though it doesn't have the 'fuel efficient' aspect).
  16. William Friedkin (his movie 'To Live and Die in LA' had a Wang Chung soundtrack...)
  17. Ya...for some reason, I've always liked the genre of '60s 2dr sedans with base trim, big engine, dog dish hubcaps on steel wheels..
  18. I do wonder if Pontiac built any '67 Catalina 2dr sedans w/ the 421, or a '68 w/ the 428. Kind of like the Chevy Biscayne 2dr sedans w/ the 427s.
  19. Lucas
  20. Ya, I think so..definitely not a '65-68 Chevy rear bumper shape, or '65-66 Pontiac rear bumper shape. I believe '67 was the last year for the Catalina 2dr sedan. I'm pretty Buick and Olds quit their B-body 2dr sedans after '61 or '62. I don't recall ever seeing a '67 Catalina 2dr sedan in real life or a magazine..pretty obscure body style.
  21. I think w/ the sedans, I think Buick could do well by using the Lincoln MKS and MKZ as targets, as far as market segment and content.
  22. That looks like a '67 Catalina rear bumper and quarter panel..definitely a '67 style 2dr sedan roofline. Interesting rust patterns.
  23. $30k for a POS like the Canyon? That is a joke..one of GM's weakest links are their compact trucks, IMHO.
  24. Well, Buick needed more modern powertrains 5-8 years ago..they still have 4spd automatics and dated pushrod V6s in their sedans. If GMC is low cost to keep around, they may as well keep it...
