  1. Speaking of GNs, a buddy of mine in high school had an '87 back then, got it brand new... unfortunately, he totalled it right before graduation. At the 20th reunion this past weekend, we got to talking, he owns an auto shop now, and recently bought an '87 GN to restore (being S. Florida, it has some rust issues apparently).
  2. I doubt if it will get IRS.. yes, this is a change similar to '99, but with interior changes as well.
  3. Lots of wierdness...the oversized grille-thing, the Aura decklid, the Accordish taillights....they couldn't even get the rear door upper frames to lineup with the chrome trim correctly (picture 5). Dissapointing.
  4. Yes, weighty cars can handle quite well... They can't handle as well as an all-out sports car like a Boxster or Elise, but for what they are, I would expect the Camaro and Challenger to handle very well.
  5. Not really...Motor Trend recently tested a Challenger on the best roads in the world and reported that it handled quite nicely..
  6. I wonder what Pontiac's consumer sales volume is relative to Saturn, though...once you factor out the fleet sales.
  7. The NG Mustang is just a refresh of the current model, so I wouldn't expect it to gain weight.
  8. Too bad the RS package doesn't have hidden headlights like the '67/68...that would look cool w/ the new car's grille, I think..
  9. I'm surprised Bush didn't upgrade to a Hummer based limo a few years back..would have been appropriate for the 'War President', and put sponsor decals on it like a NASCAR--decals for Halliburton, Blackwater, Exxon, etc. .
  10. Well, Buick is there now w/ 3 models.... I could see a 3 Pontiac line-- Solstice, G8, and G6 (keep the coupe and coupe/convertible, they are unique within the NA Epsys).
  11. Cool...didn't realize you had the '84 Merc...I love those SECs...my sister has an '84 500SEL w/ 180k miles...I drive it occasionally, along w/ her '91 300CE (only 110k miles on the coupe).
  12. I have a few, involving specific women, specific investments, and job choices..
  13. A V8 w/ manual convertible would be a nice 40th birthday gift to myself in June 2010..
  14. The thing is, Chevy has had a performance image for certain models for well over 40 years.... so I couldn't see them abandoning that..
  15. By the way, driving up US 1 going out of the Keys I was passed by a sweet dark gold w/ black top '72 Olds 98 4dr ht....thought of you.
  16. Had OJ, coffee, fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon and toast at a small local restaurant in Marathon, FL this morning. Normally, I eat cereal or a bagel at home during the week, but usually go out for a big breakfast on the weekends..
  17. Coming back from a too-short vacation in the Florida Keys, where I went to my 20th HS reunion in my old hometown of Marathon. Had a great time, fun to see how everyone is doing, where they are living, etc. Hot and humid, sunny...had a nice ocean view from my beachfront hotel. Had an '08 Sebring conv. rental, strange car. Odd proportions.. Huge decklid, tiny trunk (the convertible top takes up about 1/2 of the trunk). The operation of the top is slick, no manual handles to release on the windshield header, just one button to raise and lower the top and windows (a bit slow up and down, though). The glass rear window is nice. The plastics are a bit hard and have some wide gaps, but for a cheap car it's not bad. Drove w/ the top up, top down, and for a while, top up with the windows all down, felt like an old-time hardtop. Drove well enough, smooth and enough power to get around in. About a 4/12 hr flight (turned out closer to 5 hrs) from Fort Lauderdale to Phoenix here in an hr or so...laptop battery running low.. PS--after living for over 10 years in very dry places, the humidity of July in S. Florida about wore me out...but I took care of things w/ mojitos and beer. Had a good Cuban sandwich in Miami Beach Friday.) After 20 years, it's fun to see how people have changed...some I didn't recognize, like the 1988 vintage hotties that aren't so hot any more (though a couple are really good looking MILFs now..
  18. The interior looks good design wise... I would like to see it colors other than GM rental car gray, though...
  19. Bad link. Got a 'required files are missing' error
  20. I suspect in the new reality the Panthers (which will be gone by '10?) are the last 200+ inch RWD American cars we will see.
  21. My summer monthly electric bill w/ A/C is almost what my car payment was (electric was $425 this month, Jeep payment was $500/month in '00-05). My gas bill has been $75/week this month.
  22. Those were unibody, by the way (IIRC, the Imperial through '66 was the only BOF RWD Mopey after '59).
  23. Wow..that is too cool.
  24. happened to me a couple times today
  25. Well, the previous Cavi lasted 10 years, and the Cobalt is only in it's 4th now... if they can give the Cobalt an MCE around '10, I don't see why it and the Cruze can't coexist for a while.
