  1. Yeah... it's not a car for long road trips, after all. (where would you recharge one other than at home?)
  2. Monza was a good name, but it was associated with sporty models, not sure how well that would fly on a generic.
  3. Chevy will probably call the Brazilian Chevy Montana 'El Camino' if they bring it here like PCS has been hinting at...
  4. Yes, not to mention the Vectra has a wagon version, and presumably the Insignia will also...
  5. The Corvette was probably seized from a habitutal DUI or other bad driver.... in Denver last year, they seized and crushed a worn-out '80s Chevy pickup from someone that had caused a ton of accidents (running red lights, running over pedestrians, etc).
  6. Cruze? Lame...but better than Chevy Lacetti....not better than Chevy Cobalt. I still like Chevy Generica, but that wouldn't play outside NA probably.
  7. Hmmm...went out for Chinese Friday night and lettuce wraps were about $8...dinner for 2 w/ wine was about $40...(but this was a good local place, not a chain).
  8. I wonder how bad the side visibility will be with the thick pillars and tiny windows, though...
  9. Hmm...the Chevy Montana from Brasil looks like it's based off of the previous gen Corsa, not the new one. Yawn.
  10. I wonder what the fleet percentage is for the G6, though...Avis and Alamo seem to love 'em..
  11. Yes, lots of delusional people in the world. I have no idea how much of an effect humans have on the climate, but I'm sure there is some measurable impact that the billions of people and manufacturing, transportation, etc have had on the climate since the beginning of the industrial age...
  12. They were great...my first car was an '84 Escort diesel...got great mileage, over 50 on the highway....between myself and my folks, we put over 140k miles on it in about 15 years w/ no problems..it was a solid and reliable little car, and got me through the lousy Ohio winters....much better car than the FWD junk GM built at the time.
  13. Yes, looking at it logically and rationally, I spent an average of $45/week last year at this time (just had to check my Quicken records from then), vs. $75/week average now. Not a big deal---$30, the cost of a dinner or two. I think far too many people spend beyond their means and don't do the proper daily financial monitoring, tracking of income, expenditures, budgeting, etc... MS Money or Quicken are great tools to track your financials with.
  14. Sweet..I found the Camaro last weekend, haven't seen the others...that GTO looks sharp.
  15. Yes, gearing and weight are going to be key factors.... I can see a 1.4L moving around a 2500lb car decently, but a 3500lb car?
  16. In my reality, with freeway construction and traffic congestion, I rarely get above 60 mph in the day to day drive...most of it is 45 or 55, with one brief stretch 65. With metered ramps to get on the freeway, acceleration is important, but my 4.0L Jeep (which is probably in the 9-10 sec range for 0-60) is fine.. 20 years ago, I drove a 2.0L 52hp Escort diesel, and it was probably 15-20 sec to 60, with a manual trans. Wouldn't want to drive it now (too basic) but the 50+ mpg highway would be nice. Even my 5.0L 225hp Mustang got over 25 mpg highway back then..
  17. I've been getting this error message intermittently the last few days.. wtf? This Account Has Exceeded Its CPU Quota Please contact this site's webmaster. Wait a few minutes and use your browser's "Back" button or click here to try again. If you are the webmaster, your account may have gotten this error for one or more of the following reasons: * Your account has used more than its share of the cpu in the past 60 second sliding window. * Your account has too many concurrent processes running simultanously. * Your account has consumed too much memory. * Your site was recently very busy trying to run inefficient scripts. The solution would be to optimize your applications to use less CPU. Adding appropriate indeces to your SQL tables can often help reduce CPU. Using static .html documents instead of painful .php scripts will practically eliminate CPU usage.
  18. Someone in my 'hood has an early '80s MC with them, and cheesy chrome bling wheels.
  19. Yes, the 350Z looks so much better without the tacked on blorch. I read the article, the 135 was absurdly over-the-top overpriced, IMHO, though, at $41k..
  20. Going to take it easy today...hang out at the pool, do some grilling, maybe head downtown to watch the fireworks tonite..
  21. That's cool...looks pretty well done. I'm sure someone has done a Chevy El Camino from a Caprice wagon of that generation.
  22. Hmm... A Pontiac Beat would fit in nicely with the Vibe, naming-wise.
  23. I haven't even seen one of the '08s yet, except at a car show in March.
  24. Looks good...no more Bangle butt...
