Chrysler News: SRT Limiting The Number Of Dealers Selling The Viper
Drew Dowdell replied to William Maley's topic in Chrysler
Doesn't Chevy do this for the high end Vette's also? -
As I was leaving the Oldsmobile club meeting, I spotted a beige VW Type 3 Combi in perfect shape.

Cadillac News: Cadillac Planning a 2.0 Turbo XTS
Drew Dowdell replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac

"The naturally aspirated four-cylinder idles smoothly enough, though that's thanks largely to some cleverness in the engine mounts." no... it totally has nothing to do the fact that it is a brand new engine that was designed with NHV control in mind... "We fully expected the turbo four-cylinder to be the sweet spot in the ATS line, and while it feels properly quick, the engine still lacks the buttery refinement of offerings from Audi" ... uh... has the dude actually driven a 2.0T Audi? Fun engines, sure, but I don't dare call them "buttery" "On the street, Sport Mode simply devolves into a button to make the transmission worse. The overly sensitive programming will kick down a gear and hold it on mild freeway onramps, sticking the transmission in third or fourth gear and keeping it there long enough for us to wonder if we've broken something. In the end, it does exactly what shift logic shouldn't do: make the driver aware of the transmission." .... you mean that when you drive normally in sport mode, you don't like the way the car is performing? My CTS had this sport mode... it was meant solely for hard driving situations. Put it in sport mode and drive it like you stole it, otherwise, let the transmission stay in normal mode.

July 23, 2012 Drew Dowdell - Managing Editor CheersandGears.com Cadillac is readying a 2.0 turbo version of their full size XTS sedan model according to a diagram obtained by a CheersandGears.com reader. The diagram, sourced from a U.S. Cadillac dealership parts catalog, shows the 2.0T badging along with the FlexFuel badge we are familiar with from other GM vehicles. When we first saw the diagram, we thought we were looking at evidence of a US bound livery model of the XTS similar to Lincoln’s MKT 2.0 Ecoboost. However, a source inside of GM informed us this was not the case, so do not expect to see the 2.0T version on the road if you live in the U.S. This version of XTS will be for sale only in China and likely be an eventual replacement for the Chinese only Cadillac SLS 2.0T. Being a cousin of the now departed Saab 9-5, we can expect the XTS 2.0T to have no less than 220 horsepower and 258 ft-lb of torque at 2000 rpm. The possibility exists for more performance as GM has been actively improving their 2.0T, so any engine spec between those above and the 270 horsepower 295 ft-lb of torque available in the Buick Regal GS is possible. All-Wheel-Drive is not expected to be offered. In other XTS news, we have confirmed that there are no plans to sell the XTS in Europe contrary to what had been previously reported by other outlets, making the XTS limited to the North American and Asian markets. Buick News: 2013 Buick Verano Turbo Drops With 250 HP
Drew Dowdell replied to William Maley's topic in Buick
Cadillac still needed something for showrooms. They couldn't survive another 6 years (from 2008) on just CTS-SRX-Escalade. The Omega platform wasn't approved until well after BK. -
You talking about the car or the guy handling the car?
-
The IS had all that but one key ingredient missing..... passion. Say what you will about the ATS, it's not generic and there is no mistaking who makes it.

Doood... you got passed by a VW bus... ... edit... why's it sounds all like a diesel?

Nissan Leaf owners in hot climates experiencing battery problems

It doesn't have a battery cooling system.... what did Nissan expect? -
There are new engines coming to replace the series-0 engines in the Sonic and Cruze. I would think you'll see the performance improvements when those arrive.

Smk, you don't know how much in agreement we are right now, but you will on Wednesday.

Cadillac News: XTS Hybrid? Don't Count On It

I've hidden some posts in this thread for story reasons and will reactivate them after the story is published. -
Well... equinox or traverse...

As diesels continue to become more prevalent, the jugs of diesel engine exhaust fluid (asI've already seen them marketed) will be as common as bottles of washer fluid.
-
You say that now, but when you're 70 with grandkids...

I tend to like well styled cars that are different in their class from the mainstream somehow. There isn't a lot you can do with a minivan to make it look different and special, but I think Nissan hits closest to that mark here.

Map lights - check auto headlamps - check foglamps - at least optional auto dimming mirror - check temp/compass - not in mirror, but yes they are there 6 disc - changers are being phased out across all manufacturers, sorry cloth - probably leather or leatherette standard sunroof - will be your choice

I'm a fan of the exterior look. I think it looks much more upscale than its competitors. I haven't spent any time inside one to know much about the interior.

VW News: 2014 Volkswagen Jetta To Drop 2.5 For 1.8T
Drew Dowdell replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
Agreed. I think the torque will hit low and be very usable. 158 hp is 12 less than the current car though, would have been nice if this new engine was more like 170 hp and 185 lb-ft. They won't even notice the HP loss if the torque comes on strong enough down low. In fact, it might even end up feeling faster.- 16 replies
