  1. I think it really is used though. No reason they can't sell a used cop car.
  2. Among the other coupes in the class of course...
  3. You mean the ones that are no longer made? The Cobalt and HHR?
  4. I don't think they should bother for now. Only BMW has a model in that class that is RWD. Let Buick take on the A1 and A3, and whatever MB front drivers come over.
  5. The ATS is the next class size up from the 1-series. It isn't a direct comparison.
  6. Well... yes it's news. I can't imagine a GS coupe being very interesting though.
  7. The newest Haldex AWD can be whatever bias you want it to be. Left rear tire biased? Just program the computer for it.
  8. Both the 3400 and 3900 are smoother engines than the 3.6 when driven in a normal fashion despite what the buff rags will tell you about pushrods and the like. It is only when you crest 5,500 rpm or so does the DOHC make any difference on smoothness.
  9. Fiat 500 Abarth Mini-Cooper S Ford Focus ST Chevrolet.... well... we just won't go there.
  10. The rear quarters of the coupe are about as cramped as a Camaro.... why bother with a Sedan? Make it a quad-coupe or something.
  11. oh geeze, mine will never be that neat.
  12. Or, it can simply be that GM does not have a suitable Hybrid drive train for the XTS. The Volt's is too underpowered and not particularly adaptable use the 3.6 V6 as the ICE. A BAS-II system ala Buick LaCrosse does not do enough to be worth marketing. An all new system for the XTS does not not have enough volume to make a reasonable business case on its own. That, plus the low take rate of GM's Hybrid offerings, led to a decision to keep it simple and focus on the tradiational merits of a large luxury sedan -- isolation, comfort, room, refinement and, yes, amenities galore. What about the 2-mode?
  13. Happy Birthday!
  14. I may have some garage space in the fall if things go as hoped
  15. Not entirely true about hydrogen anymore. There are now bio-electronic ways to produce hydrogen where the energy output in hydrogen far exceeds the energy input in electricity.
  16. A Fisker Karma.
  17. I've heard from Cort. He is safe, but asks me not to expand further.
  18. There was/is a special German love for the 300 design. It was the Adenauer Benz.... basically Germany's "Limo 1" for the first post war Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, who was extremely popular with the German people at the time.... and a symbol that Germany would rebuild.
  19. sweet, one of the few cars that gets posted here that I could beat in a race!
  20. The Altima isn't as dramatic as the Fusion, but it is light weight, airy feeling inside, and even in pre-production form, seems to have all the basics covered in a really attractive package.
  21. Yes
  22. I've wondered for years why manufacturers insisted on driving the water pump from a belt/pulley instead of driving off the front of the camshaft like GM did with the LT-1. It always seemed to be one of the easiest points of failure to eliminate. Now, I guess they're all electric today....
