Cheers or Jeers: 10,000 Mile 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger

Was the purpose of slanting the 6 just to accommodate a lower hood height? -
Their 4 cylinder already makes 180 horsepower... which is more than their V6 could produce as recently as 10 years ago and I imagine more and more Camry buyers are turning away from the V6 when the 180 hp 4-cylinder is sufficient for most buyers.... so I highly doubt that this plant capacity doubling has anything to do with Camry. If anything, the doubling of capacity has more to do with the coming Tundra redesign. The Tundra is currently in its 5th year and the 235hp 4.0 looks rather weak sauce when the Camry V6 sitting next to it has 268hp. You know what would be really funny? Toyota using this plant capacity to make a Turbo-V6 to put in the Tundra to compete with F-150 Ecoboost.

Tronado?

No matter what happens, the first word most will say will be "Civic". In reality, size and stature aside, they are 2 completely different cars and in person do not appear related. Size yes, but drive and look, no. Glad our first is black. The wheels look great and so does black. Next up another graphite one and a Hybrid. I've seen it in person.

I still see way too much Civic in these....

CNG, What would it take to convert you and the rest of America?
Drew Dowdell replied to G. David Felt's topic in The Lounge
Yes that is one of the things I am working on building is ROI for the various cars with the various Fueling Stations and estimated electrical cost. This way people can compare. With the US having such large reserves, if we could only get people to move over to CNG we could truly stop the outflow of money for oil to terrorist counteries. I'm not sure our Canadian members would appreciate you calling them terrorists.... -
Lexus News: Lexus Changes Their Hybrid Philosophy

No... don't you remember the Acura RLX concept that was supposed to be a hybrid with 370hp? I'm suggesting that Acura might be headed the wrong direction with this hybrid idea. -

Yeah, I don't doubt it would be cheap. Even just charging a Volt every day for a full charge won't increase your electric bill more than $50 a month. I was just curious... it does need to be factored into the costs. -

CNG, What would it take to convert you and the rest of America?
Drew Dowdell replied to G. David Felt's topic in The Lounge
I don't think we were really talking about over the road trucking at all.... but more like the possibility of a CNG passenger vehicle like a Civic or Camry. -
Because it is a minor chance of possible injustice in face of the actual occurring injustice we have on going today. Can I get some examples please of what you consider occuring injustices? The forced tracking via a black box is a MAJORE INJUSTICE to our way of life, freedom of choice, etc. The TSA.... all of it... as ineffectual as it is intrusive. The fact that there have been zero bankers sent to jail for their grand theft while millions sit in jail for possession of small amounts of pot acquired through mutually agreeable transactions. Gitmo. The black box that is called your cell phone.... it reveals far more about you and your movements than any car black box could.... in fact, just having your cell phone on in the car is twice the black box that GM could ever equip your car with.

Why so much longer service lives on CNG in an otherwise identical engine? BTW, I may turn this whole thread into an article from the information you all have provided. -

Well what is the mpg penalty? I ask because it looks like the assumptions above use the gasoline mpgs... -

Do you get the same mpg on CNG as you would on gasoline? -
