  1. Interesting that they didn't want to keep him around longer after such an amazing streak of growth.... but maybe he didn't want to stick around either.
  2. Maybe Subaru can follow up with a BRZ Outback.
  3. Because they've been testing them in the area. The GMCs have been down here in the city regularly. Hyundai has been testing here too.
  4. A little blurry, but I'm sure one of you Pontiac guys can identify it. I'm guessing a 71 or 72?
  5. I've really come around on these also.
  6. In some parts of Michigan, that'll buy you 10 houses... with money left over to fix them up.
  7. When I actually went to perform these moves, I changed my mind on some things. I'm not combining Chevy and GMC trucks just yet. I did combine Holden/Opel/Vauxhall. Merchandise lookout and Powertrain were moved and renamed as planned Additionally: Autoshow Coverage, Sales Figure Ticker, Industry News, Motorsports, and Editorials (basically everything in News & Views) have all been combined under C&G Features which is now the new News & Views section. C&G Social Central, C&G Tech Corner have dropped the C&G at the front of their names, this was a name change only. Some of these moves may not make sense at the moment, but they are in preparation for the site upgrade on Jan 5th. I'm using the new software now and it is really starting to come together.
  8. Yes? No? Maybe? Objections? Comments?
  9. This was all part of the economics of the Chevy pullout in the first place. Australia isn't going to pick up the sales slack.
  10. I'd like to make the following forum consolidations: GMC Truck + Chevrolet Truck -> Chevrolet/GMC Trucks Holden + Opel/Vauxhaull -> Holden/Opel/Vauxhaull GM Merchandise Lookout -> Renamed to Merchandise Lookout and moved under C&G Social Central GM Powertrain -> Renamed Powertrain Talk and moved under C&G Tech Corner
  11. It's just suspicious to me that the death of Zeta, the birth of Omega, the first big refresh of Alpha, and the end of the current Epsilon II cars all happens right around the same time. The long and short of it is that GM can go in either direction for any car on the current platforms and not really screw up the timeline.
  12. I saw it. I didn't post it on the front page because I didn't find that Easter egg particularly newsworthy for a front page article because we don't actually see much of anything. You call it "behind", I call it "editor's prerogative". You still seem to miss the point of a community site.
  13. Those cant be dot legal!
  14. I like them, but they could end up basket cases..
  15. GM has also engineered much of the lag out. There is still some, but we're not talking 80s Saab here.
  16. Sounds like a mid-lux Park Ave then, Park Ave Ultra would have the SC3800, so I would equate that to the Northstar.
  17. And selling nearly as many Commodores as Toyota sells Corollas, with the substantial difference in price, pulls in quite a bit of money. I wouldn't be surprised if Holden made more revenue on Commodore than Toyota did on Corolla even though Corolla sold more.
  18. Really depends on the trim.
  19. eh, he just made the same guess that you did..... it's a reasonable guess, but that is no official announcement from GM there..
  20. Some additional updates to this. As I work towards getting our new look installed before the Detroit show, some changes to format might be made that don't look right in their current setting. It might be something little like a graphic that no longer lines up right. This is okay. I'm aware of these issues. The changes in format are being made for the new theme that I have installed on the site but that is not yet visible to you. As of now, we are on course for a Jan 5 release of the new site.
  21. It needs to come sooner rather than later.
  22. Ridgeline... best value for a truck? What's the value of a truck that can't haul anything?
  23. It's a reasonable guess. Additionally, since the XTS is rumored to be a One and Done car, the only other car it shares with is the current Impala. So, if Cadillac goes with Omega first then Chevrolet follows a year later with an Impala on the same platform, it would mimic the release schedule of the two current cars. Both the Cadillac XTS and Impala should have no problems running right up to 2017 or 2018... which is a familiar date
