  1. High-risk, high reward. If it succeeds, it may help public perception, but if a Volt breaks down or has problems it will hurt the car in the eys of consumers. It would be a terrible idea for Dodge to do it with their upcoming EVs. The Jalopnik article says the EV has a range of 150-200 miles and takes 4 hours to recharge on 220, 8 hours on 110. Google Maps puts Detroit-Washington at 524 miles, having to stop 3 times for 4-8 hours will remind people of why pure electrics never caught on.
  2. Yup, its November 21st and I am done. We took the wagon out and picked up the last of the stuff we needed from Toys "R" Us, then went and got some other nifty stuff and now the closet is full of toys and other fine wares. The best part? Everything is paid for.
  3. How is a private jet not a perk? $224 to fly out of Michigan to D.C. today and back on Monday. Its a symbol of everything wrong with GM and many other, non-automotive businesses. They dont fully invest in what matters, the product and the consumer.
  4. The heads of companies that lose billions of dollars per quarter dont deserve perks.
  5. I've seen the Nissan Versa advertised for $9,990, I have a feeling the G3 will be dropped to about that by dealers.
  6. If you're in the mood for something sweet, Twix bars fall out of vending machines if you shake them enough. If you're in the mood for something salty, bags of microwave popcorn slide out with ease, usually a bump or two will do it.
  7. He also nailed that chick with the unibrow who did a painting of her own birth.
  8. Oh that thing is just cool!
  9. Homemade rotisserie that could probably have some wheels added.
  10. Get a Yugo or two.
  11. Winches with wireless remotes are the best thing ever, if you need to pull (or presumably life) something.
  12. I'd love to get a print of The Son of Man for my living room.
  13. $139.99 $169.99 If it wouldn't get me fired, I'd tell you how to get 40% off.
  14. Climb up on the beams? That goes back to my winch suggestion, I know some boat trailer winches have wireless remotes, if anchored properly, one of those should be able to lift the bed. The strongest one we have listed has 3500lbs of pulling power.
  15. A not so ideal solution: Go through the bed. How hard could it be to put a massive hole in the bed in order to get to the fuel pumps? Hell, if you had a 25 year old Toyota truck, it would already have holes in the bed. See, yet another reason Toyota rules!
  16. Does your Silverado have a winch? With a pulley and some chain, you can have that bed off in no time.
  17. How did the American public fail the GTO? It was a niche model to begin with, and for the first year it just looked like a Grand Prix coupe.
  18. Slime and a lack of caring about traction take care of that little problem.

    Crappy weather

I hate wind, its been gusting up to 30mph today and its stupid. I looked outside today and saw the sun, which was a pleasant surprise, them I went outside and nearly got knocked over by a gust of freezing cold wind.
  20. The electric power steering was atrocious, the automatic transmissions (5-speed Aisin and CVT) were problematic, the seats were terrible, the interior was Geo-level, the ION was a terrible effort from a company that could do better.
  21. The Aztek made the the Rendezvous possible, so it brought something to the table. The ION was a terrible small car, calling it half-assed would be too nice.
  22. Wouldn't it be quicker to name the sales successes GM has had in the last decade or so? Corvette GMT-800s ummm......... Impala (if you want to count fleet sales) ummmm...... A little help please
  23. Supply and demand plays a role in speculation.
  24. I love the idea of a maintenance-free bike.
