  1. You did mean it!
  2. I'd like to see rail traffic increase in the passenger side. But at the same time, the cost effectiveness isn't there with today's market. Everyone wants to fly, or drive, which both are a PITA at certain times. I know I'd sure like to catch an American bullet train here in Montgomery and head up to TN to see family, or to SC for the same reasons.
  3. That worked like a fart in a diving helmet Smooth move, Ex-lax You big dummy!
  4. Someone remind me to shoot people that do that....please?
  5. I won't, but seriously, I wanna see that hit a pothole at speed and watch the horrible aftermath....
  6. warm-fuzzy
  7. No, it doesn't take much at all. Really just a little bit of thinking, and some general knowledge of some of GM's finest automobiles (the MC has always had a soft spot for me, too bad I probably can't ever find one worth a flip to restore around here)
  8. Well, it could just be that the pigtail (socket and wiring right there at the foglamp) could need to be replaced, instead of doing a major rewire. I'd check around at your local auto parts stores and see if they have a pigtail for the foglamp assembly and go from there.
  9. That was pretty doggone cool. I like the animation sequence, although they skipped my bodystyle truck.
  10. I wouldn't say a bad thing about the GM trucks. And they are underrated for towing capability simply becuase to tow much over about 16,000-lbs, you need a CDL, so if Ford boasts that you can buy a truck that tows 24,000 some odd pounds, then let it, and when Joe Blow that doesn't have a CDL comes in to buy one to tow his stuff, is Ford going to pay for his extra license requirement? No. As far as SFA, there's no point in it, IFS systems have gotten too good to want to go back 20 years to an SFA arrangement. I don't have a duramax powered truck, but I've driven several, and I can't complain about anything that they can do. I however, CAN complain about Ford and Dodge. The Ford (especially with the 6.0L PowerJoke) is a POS and the transmission seems to always want to search when towing. Dodge, the transmission is better, but still, I don't like its ride too much, seems a little too stiff, too harsh. I know that's kinda picking nits, but that's basically what the auto rags are having to do anyway when they get these trucks from the manufacturers, they're typically that damned good.
  11. or notice that your foot is on fire.
  12. I dunno, I'd rather a crew cab, Chevy 3500 duallie with the duramax and allison to that monster. Or hell, just give me a Peterbuilt with a Cat engine and I'd be just as happy (in fact, probably more happy)
  13. Yeah, I dare anyone to run over a pothole with THAT one.
  14. falling star
  15. I'm with Balth on this one. I've got 3.42 rear gears in my '76 Chevy and haven't had problem one out of it that wasn't my own fault. Like running it low on gear oil and burning up the bearings in the original. But I replaced the differential with an identical one and I can still tow, haul, carry, or tote any load that I'm required to.
  16. I have absolutely no clue.
  17. You know, I heard of a similar problem once before with a friend of a friend's Silverado. It had the speed-to-volume proportional stereo and a component went bad in the radio, which caused the speedometer to konk out. Because apparently the input signal from the Vehice Speed Sensor (VSS), comes through the radio first, then goes to the IP.
  18. in-car fires definitely aren't bright spots for anyone!
  19. That sucks. Sounds like a shoddy relay design.
  20. Hmm, I haven't heard about this one, but it wouldn't surprise me too much. The land that the plant is on is having an ASSload of groundwork being done to it.
  21. And it could be. The OBD-I computer system on your car could only see problems that directly interfered with vehicle performance. It was unable to evaluate the performance of different parts (OBD-II can). So in fact, it could be confused. For a shot of the part, go here :https://www.mycarquesthomepage.com:8443/acl/?mfgName=CARQUEST/STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS&partNumber=AC5 That should give you a good picture of the part.
  22. Wow, I currently have the lead, that's kinda scary since i don't know a whole heck of a lot about the Monte.
  23. High torque, low rpm operating engines. International has some Ginormous ones too.
  24. USS Enterprise (sorry, immediately thought of the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, and the DCX car)
  25. Y'all can call me crazy, but the moment I heard rotary engine, I immediately thought Pratt & Whitney Double Wasp, don't ask me why, but I did.
