  1. I'm glad that I have a thick skin, being that I am from the deep south.....
  2. Yeah, that Optimus would earn a spot right next to my Generation 1 and Generation 2 Optimi, so does BumbleBee!
  3. the past
  4. What NOS said.
  5. I guess I'm still chivalrous (sp?). I'm the kind of person that will stand up for anyone that's getting someting undeserved. And as far as 4 to 1 odds are concerned, the four guys were all probably 5'5"-6'2" and maybe 150lbs soaking wet with change in their pockets. Meanwhile I'm 5'10" and about 380lbs.....(hell basically I AM four of those guys)
  6. Camaro 'vert. Or a Silverado 2500 HD with the Duramax/Alison combination, crew cab, 4 wheel drive, long bed, duallie (prefered).
  7. wire the motor directly to the battery and see if you can get it to run for a good while that way, then you're taking the blower motor relay or blower motor resistor out of the picture.
  8. I'd toss in a set of plugs and wires and call it a day. Sounds like it didn't do anything serious. On the note of killing the engine while filling, I'll do it no matter what, now I do admit that I live in the south, therefore it doesn't get as cold as the midwest, but still, I do anyway just to be safe.
  9. what in Hell's Bells is that thing?!
  10. Welcome Pontiac, may you have many more happy posts
  11. Well, I don't have a pistol permit, so I couldn't of exactly shot them. I could have probably poked a few holes in them with one of my two pocket knives, but I didn't think much about that one. Glad to hear that everyone thinks I did the right thing. Stace, you're right, I seriously would have wanted someone to step in if my wife was in such a situation.
  12. I'm none too worried about that part of it since well...I've got the busted lip and the contact information of the corporal if it happens....the ear trick is something my brother in law taught me (he's USMC)
  13. I'm not worried about the presentation. I'm wondering if you guys think it was a little much to have removed a guy's ear with my bare hand. Now admittedly it only takes about 45-lbs of force to do so, but still. I ripped the guy's ear off and threw it at him.
  14. All right y'all. I've gotta lay something out here. I was out and about tonight without the wife or the little girl (they were at wife' dance practice). I'm cruising around in the Impala, watching it storm (tornado warning, golf ball sized hail, etc), and thinking of dinner. I get to a local chinese restaurant and there are four guys standing around in the parking lot, I pay them no huge amount of attention, go in, eat and come out. Get back to my car, they come over and start giving me the evil eye. I'm normally not one to have a horribly short temper, but today wasn't a good day at work, so I wasn't in the best of moods. Anyway, back to the subject at hand, as they're walking past me, a woman in an Army uniform gets out of her car. The guys start cat calling her, crap which I dont' exactly agree with, but I will admit, the woman was attractive. I start to get in my car when I hear struggling. Here's the kicker, the four guys, have swarmed the woman, and they're verbally bashing her, calling her names because she's in the military. I catch ear of it, which drives me over the edge (one because I support and respect anyone in the United States military currently or in the past). I get out of my car, walk up to the nearest target and ask "Is there a problem here?" From that point on all I remember is a fist coming to kiss me in the bottom lip. I remember grabbing one of the guys by the ear and pulling, pulling really hard. Awww hell, I ripped the guy's f@#king ear off, lemme just be straight. After that, no one wanted to fight and I made sure the woman Corporal was all right. She was, a little surprised, and a little freaked out that I'd done what I did. I haven't really thought of it anymore till right now. The question is, should I have really jumped into that fight, or not?
  15. Its ugly....demon fits. And you're right WMJ, if I had a F3H chasing me I'd run like hell!
  16. now THAT is funny. I was actually thinking of doing something similar when my yota dealership gets one down here. And I'd come in driving my truck in shorts and a t-shirt just for the ocassion.
  17. Just a question, what the hell is that conglomeration?
  18. I know what I would have done, and have done once before. Someone once blocked me in on the illegal parking spot thing while I was in the truck, meanwhile I already was in drive and started to pull forward through the area when idiot A (we'll leave it at that) pulled into the area one ear attached to cell phone, cell phone attached to shoulder, one hand sipping StarBucks, other hand doing God know's what. I tossed the truck into park, gave the person a dirty look, laid on the air horns. No response... so I place the truck BACK into drive, rev the engine twice, then begin to inch forward until my front bumper was just, ever so gently, touching the other car. When idiot a tried to open the door, I let 'em smack my bumper them made a scene out of it. After thoroughly making them feel like a horses ass and move out of the spot, I went about my business.
  19. 97, would you be too upset if I said that I DO drive a truck and live in Alabama....because, I do. BTW, the links no longer work due to Copyright infringment with BBC.
  20. Exactly FOG, now where exactly are you from, you say you're from the southeast, but where sir?
  21. HOw about no cover. How about just let us see the freaking engine. Leave the damn plastic, pain in the ass covers out of the picture. Think of how much in savings GM could have if it DIDN'T produce an engine cover for all the engines it builds? What purpose does it serve other than making yoru engine bay look like an endless sea of plsatic?
  22. Running the water pump directly off the cam has been done, or even gear driving it. The DuraMax's water pump is gear driven directly off the timing system. And the LT-1 engine from the mid-90s had the water pump driven directly off the cam. AS far as the timing set up being a gear drive the main complaint is noise levels. Sure you'll sound like you have a 6-71 blower strapped to it, but most people don't necessarily want that. I think that I'm going to actually gear drive my old 350 in my truck in its next life. As far as the LS-2, it'll still be around in most of the trucks. The LS3 is going to be used mostly as a hi-output engine for special puposes.
  23. You are more or less correct balth. With an LSD you're able to have one wheel spin at a different speed than the opposite wheel. If you had a posi-trac rear, you'd be wearing one tire out more around the turns. That's why most vehicles don't have a posi-trac rear anymore.
  24. I'd say either bad wiring, or crapped out blower motor.
  25. I agree with you AAS, I'm waiting patiently to see all of this in the showroom.
