  1. All the years I worked at GM dealers I never got one concrete idea of WTF was coming down the pipe unless it was already in a C&D or MT issue.
  2. Satty: What the hell is it with you and 3rd gen. F-bodys... you seem to despise them more than I do Hondas. I mean c'mon, you mean to tell me that a 3rd gen. Camaro with an exhaust leak bothers you more than the 10,000 Hondas with Fart Cans that drive up and down every damn street in the USA these days? I'll take exhaust leak on a V6 or V8 ANY DAY over rice rocket queefs.
  3. You know just use the small one and center it on your desktop... that way your icons are not scattered all over half the photo and it takes up less memory.
  4. I'm goign to try to jump start this thread... 1901 Waltham Orient Buckboard
  5. I'm going to call XP RIGHT NOW...
  6. My mind's been drifting on TIIIIME PASSAGESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! -Al Stewart (probably the most horrible song ever recorded, in the history of the universe... EVER)
  7. Back in the day I had many a fun roadtrip in my friend Mike's '79 Citation. I remember one particular day we drove around in over a foot of snow & beat the piss out of that car, just to get nakpinks with "Happy New Year" printed on them for his parent's party. Skyline R34s are ledgends in their own time, I have a feeling they will always will be the coolest japanese car ever made. When I learned of the Skyline's existance it as probably about 1993 and I read up on them with great enthusiasm, kids in my high school, even many of the Honda/Toyota driving rice boys had no idea what the hell a Skyline was. Before the internet if you wanted to leanr about something like a japanese only Nissan you had to get your hands on one of those crazy magazines from the UK or Australia, there was no Google. The 1970s Skylines are cool if only for their hardtop greenhouses, once again a case of plagirism by the Japanese if I ever saw it. Oh and the Starion/Conquest... don't get em started on those, I've got a bit of an obsession with those cars too, but I try to remind myself they do not exist with low miles and for a reasonable price. I came close once to buying a White Starion from a real shady car dealer that I'm pretty sure was a front for a drug smuggling opperation and another time a bronze Plymouth Conquest was snatched up before I got to it. $2500 and it was beat... needed a new turbo and the interior was rough, 160k miles. Variance: Sorry to hear about your Avalon affliction.
  8. 1 4 2 No. 1 looks like a damn sexy haerdtop!!!
  9. KICK-@$$!!! congrats. Is it 350 powered or 305? Have you seen it in person? Can't go wrong for $800. One of the few Chevrolets with stacked headlights. And yes I also say 502 this thing and call it a day. I'm with XP on the patina but I understand where you're coming from Camino.
  10. Maybe for ONCE Honda will stop being lame and make a true pilllarless hardtop. Someone at that company at least had an apppreciation for pillarless doors, or so you would think by observing past product.
  11. What happened to JamesB? He's a smart dude, respectful and knowledgable. I miss LordStafford and although he drives me f**king nuts at times with his love of FWD & Jaguars I miss RazorEdge. He's a little bit of a pessimist but I have no animosity towards him.
  12. True, the Outlook and Enclave are surprizingly good looking and yet there's not much MINIVAN-ISH or soccer mom like about them.
  13. Dodgefan: 300ZX: Great car but V6s are not nearly as cool as Inline-Sixes, therefore I'd rather have a 1970 240z G35: see above, although the coupe is damn sexy Lancer Evo8: MitsuBitchy is probably trying to snuf out a pending lawsuit related to ANOTHER million lemons... plus AWD should ALWAYS be REAR-biased. Just my humble opinion. Balthazar: I love most classic Porsches, and many modern ones (esp. air cooled 911 turbos) excluding the Cayenne of course. So that's not a GUILTY pleasure for me... just one of the few imports that I actaully care to own someday, if it is financially feasable.
  14. I was not thining in terms of immediate future.
  15. Sales are sales... why is such a big deal made of retail versus fleet sales thing. A sale is a sale, maybe they make a little less money on fleet but in the end it all balances out. I think you guys underestimate the value of fleet sales.
  16. Soooo... in some cases BOF, RWD conservative sedans DO sell better than modern FWD/AWD unibody ones. Is it still unrealistic to expect that a fully hydroformed, thoroughly modern (& 30 years newer than Panther cars') BOF sedan from GM could not be a viable and profitable venture??? I expect a full apology for all the anti-BOF & anti-RWD posts I've had to read pver the past 2 years on this forum.
  17. oh and O'Shea: your 32 valve Cobra 5-speed was a MILLION times cooler than any FWD car this side of 1969.... your Cobra will be on the block at Barrett Jackson when that turbo Dodge is just another old cheesy 80s car.
  18. Are you kidding Turbo? I'm being 100% honest when I say that is IMO one of the femenine crossover-SUVs I've ever seen in my life. And that's saying a LOT, I think 95% of todays unibody SUVs look more "college girl cute" than a MINI Cooper. If I got this for a company car I would just tell them to keep the effin thing and I'd buy a hot pink Geo Tracker so I could retain SOME of my dignity.
  19. EXACTLY.... it's a wicked cool car all things considered. But it's still a freekin' T6Y6T6! I'm 5' 9" with winter socks on so I my Datsun is PERFECT for me... the IS might be a tiny bit cramped but I'd be willing to deal with it, it's a sport sedan after all, not my Super 88.
  20. If I looked up "UGLY" in a dictionary and there was a photo of this POS there my only response to it would be that it is a GROSS understatement. Ffffugly!
  21. I think of the 3000+ people on this forum, and the 100 or so who post here on a weekly basis I am one of the most out-spoken and transparent ones. 99% of the time I do NOT let my oppinion go unregistered if it is a topic I feel strongly about. But here's something I do not confess very often. It is a dark secret of sorts, a true paradox along the lines of the last temptation of Christ. I'm in love with a Japanese car and it's NOT a Datsun... hell it's not even the usual 1970s hardtop 2dr that looks like a Japanime version of a late 60s GM A-body or early 70s Mopar. This car is, for all intents & puropses the ONLY car that (mechanically) resembles my old 1984 Datsun Maxima. After all you guys know that after the V16 and V8 my third favorite engine layout is the inline six. Not too many compact cars offer RWD these days, even fewer still offer a manual trans. mated to an inline-six. If by now you do not know what this modern She-Devil is scroll down. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . That's right. Every so often I lust for an Toyota Altezza, or as we call them, Lexus IS300. It's no '59 Buick interior but it's better than most cars from the early 2000s. This thing makes the BMW 1-series look like a KIA Sephia. So what is your GUILTY pleasure, your lure to the dark side...?
  22. When I was a kid I assumed that the rims from my mom's Achieva would swap out with the steelies w/hubcaps on my Cutlass Cierra. NOT the case. Both cars came with 3.1 liter V6s, both had five lugs etc... but that's got nothing to do with the lug pattern as I quickly found out. Try finding rims that fit my Datsun. I got a full size spare off an old Datsun from the junkyard but it's not the generic bolt patern that fits Corollas & escorts.
  23. Dude, you're preaching to the choir. I not only think Cadillac should have a Kappa roadster but they should have a car very much along the lines of the last gen. IS300. A Small RWD sports sedan with great proportions, an I6 & a 6-spd manual.
  24. and Toyotas are well made and durrable? .....Dodges are reliable and have good resale??? Are you kidding?
  25. The headlights were tweeked too....
