I came into some money this week, so I decided to pay off my Pontiac Grand Prix GT & Chevy Equinox LT. Now I'm going to roll those payments into paying off my houses. I will be debt free in three years if I work hard at it.

Congrats, my friend. Good luck in keeping with your plan, I never seem to be able to reisist buying more toys.

Of course, having a wife and 2 kids keeps plenty of money going out of my hands as well.

About 4.5 more years of car loans (in the unlikely even I keep the Fusion) and since I've only made 3 payments on my mortgage, a lot longer than that to go on the house.

I haven't had a car payment in two years, and I'm not inclined to start having one again anytime soon. I have about 10 years left on my mortgage. I could probably pay it off in five years, but with an interest rate of only 4.75%, it's hardly worth it, though I don't like being in debt.

My house, one credit card, and my truck. And that's enough. It would be awesome to be debt-free, but my addiction to new vehicles every few years contradicts that.

An extra $50-$100 a month on a mortgage payment can knock 10 years or more off a mortgage....

That's fantastic! I wish I could be in that position...

I'm trying to fit something like that into the budget, but doing so would mean forgoing the pool that I really really really want to get.
