2008 Buick Lucerne Super in person

I really like the exterior of this car. I also like the fact that it's offered in so many colors. I'm liking the Sagemist especially. What I don't care for is the interior of Buick cars (Enclace excluded) in general, with the plastic looking buttons that light up in blue on the door. To the center stack that holds the radio to even the design of the dashboard itself. Also is it real wood on the dash or plood (plastic wood)?

I checked the pics that we took this past weekend... I'm not too thrilled about the pics of the Lucerne Super (specifically the angles.) The LaCrosse Super pics turned out somewhat better.

The cars just don't seem to photograph well. I'll try to work on the pics and get some up before the weekend is out...

I still think they'll look better (and more expensive) on the road than the current models.

Thanks Ven. The Super grille is a tad too deep IMO (maybe bring the bottom dip up 2 inches), but that aside, I like it. Constantly we read that GM does not go far enough, here's a face that goes beyond the ubitquitous in-line-with-the-headlights grille of most every current car, and everyone gripes. The fact that most people "hate" it actually makes me like it even more.

I hate it because I feel it doesn't fit the car at all. It looks just "stuck on" there. The lines of the Lucerne, albeit more edgy than the LaCrosse, are just not that sharp. I think the LaCrosse grille would look better on here... soften that point a bit.

I'm waiting for a few clear real life pictures before I judge the grille. I'll agree- the grille looks extremely awkward in the professional pictures, bu the professional pictures always make the car look horrible, this has been a C&G fact for a while.

However I suspect in real life they will look more real and purposeful, I mean these grainy pics above really aren't helping much.

My real life pics won't help either unfortunately... :banghead:

I recommend waiting till you see it in person. The "visual effect" is the equivalent to the 2003 refresh on the Park Avenue Ultra compared to the base Park Avenue. The grille is bold and catches the eye, but doesn't overpower the car.

I believe, these pictures so far just leave me wondering how the grille was even designed to fit in the front because it just doesn't make sense to me. It's like looking at one of those paintings where you only walk up stairs and end up in the same spot...

I do believe that in person or even your pictures (though you say differently) will help clear this up a little for me.

Well, I think part of the problem is the headlights and grille come off two dimensional in pics (almost like the headlights and grille are vinyl appliqués on a flat characterless surface) when they actually have shape, depth, and style that create a distinctive appearance. I hope it works for you when you see the Lucerne Super on the road or up close in person.

What really upsets me is I can honestly say I doubt that'll happen.
