Proposed bill would state authorities to quarantine people during pandemic

Recommended Posts

BOSTON -- A new proposed bill designed to combat the threat of the H1N1 virus would allow the state to forcefully quarantine people in the event of a pandemic.

Anyone who refuses to comply with the quarantine order could face jail time or a $1000 per day fine.

The "Pandemic Response Bill" would also force health providers to vaccinate people, authorize forcible entry into private homes, and impose fines or prison sentences on anyone not complying with isolation or quarantine orders.

Federal health officials are also warning of a possible new outbreak of the H1N1 virus, commonly known as the "swine flu."

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said people should expect "a big influx" of cases and brace for it as best they can.

Napolitano said many cases are likely to surface before a vaccine becomes available in mid-October.

Already, cases are showing up on college campuses. Fifty students at Emory College and 100 students at wake forest are sick with the flu.

A high school in Nebraska reported 191 students out this week with flu symptoms. Only 13 of those cases were confirmed to be swine flu, but more are expected.

New York City school officials are offering free vaccinations to their million-plus public school students. The city wants to avoid being the epicenter of another outbreak like last spring, when hundreds of students came down with the illness.

The "Pandemic Response Bill" was passed by the Massachusetts State Senate on April 28. The bill is now awaiting approval in the house.

Scare tactic much? It's the flu...the same thing we've been dealing with since forever. It's just a different strain. It treatable like the normal flu and there will be a vaccine for it it. It's no more deadly and oh yeah, less people get this than the normal strain.

 i could see a lot of pranks going wrong, terribly terribly wrong. could get rid of a neighbor that way too. be like the salem witch trials or the mcarthy trials hehe

that's what it's been from the beginning. that's how millions of our dollars went to pharma companies, or mainly one, to make a vaccine... the first death in the USA was a very young child, no?

OMG!!!!! Run from anyone with flu like symptoms, it's the new plague!!!!!

Exactly... and they already say that 10% of the NYC population has already had it back in the spring... 800,000 people.

hehe if you talk to some of our older members, they will tell you get the disease instead of the vaccine instead. back in the 70's when it hit everyone remembered the 1918 outbreak and a vaccine was conjured up. a preservative or somethin in the vaccine had more detrimental effects/fatalities than the virus itself.

Some believe H1N1 was manufactured and spread intentionally by Big Pharma companies so they can make a killing on selling vaccinations, and that VeriChip is involved as well. I wouldn't put it past corrupt corporations to do something like this.

Anyone who didn't see something of this magnitude rumbling down the social engineering highway hasn't been paying attention. That a climate exists that an ideal like this can even be proposed seriously, is a travesty. Without a doubt; more to follow.

this bill is bull$h! anyway. we have the martial law system that we can deploy if need be and that at least is controlled by the city not to some federal agency that can do it when ever
