I think I posted a pic before, but this is Bro's 'bird:

  • IMO, the Virgil Exner-overseen design of the '56 DeSoto face is comparable to ANY 'best' design out there of ANY era (especially the modern one) - it is so utterly tailored & refined but still has

Look at the bumper fitment & contours vs. Ford's. Plus you have the trick invisible taillights. ;)

Β

RE the Galaxie's tail end, I'd have to endorse the '61-63 Thunderbird's take over the Galaxie's.

All of these are some somewhat old to recent sedans that I think look really clean and have aged or I think will age really well in terms of styling. The Accord, Malibu and Fusion especially still look good for humble family sedans.

Accord does not fit in with that group, Good Lord no...

We were on paper-thin ice with the 73 A-body cars as it was, now the thread is officially done with post #40's contributions. Accord? Taurus? Wut?

Would you all like it if I changed the thread title from "Beautiful Cars Appreciation" thread to "Beautiful Vintage Car Appreciation thread"? I can do right away to clarify the real topic of this thread.Β

Β

You're all a picky lot. Get used to other people's opinions. If you want a forum for 3 people, you can try a petition and see how well it would succeed. I think the Accord was a beautiful car for its segment of shapeless blobs.

Β

The original Taurus is the most storied midsize sedan ever. And the last generations of the Malibu and Fusion were some of the best looking American sedans to lead a resurgence of American sedans. And the Impala. Well, I guess everyone can agree on that one.

I get your stance, Suav, but 'beautiful shapeless blob' and 'most storied' (??) still seem to miss the mark of simply 'beautiful cars'. My opinion; carry on. :)

I guess when a limited scope of experience comes into play, the original Taurus is "storied" however, mention the word "Chevelle" and you will see entire encyclopedias written.

I happily would kick out all Italian brands from my Garage. :D

Β

I would love some SUV's Baby! :D

Just a little defiance because Italian cars are sensual and very easy on the eyes...especially the "vintage" ones from the same years that we ogle cars from Mopar and the General.
