Are you interested in picking up a 2016 Nissan Titan XD? Then you'll be happy to know today Nissan has announced pricing for the Titan XD. The base S Crew Cab with two-wheel drive and the 5.0L Cummins Turbodiesel V8 will set you back $41,485 and that includes a $1,195 destination charge. Here is the pricing for all Titan XD models with the Turbodiesel V8.

We don't how much the Titan XD with the Endurance 5.0L V8 will cost till that is launched in April. The Titan XD arrives at dealers tomorrow.

Nissan Announces U.S. Pricing for 2016 TITAN XD

 

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Just in time for last-minute holiday adventures, the all-new 2016 Nissan TITAN XD Crew Cab goes on sale tomorrow at Nissan dealers nationwide. Available in five grade levels and a choice of 4x4 and 4x2 drivetrains, the Cummins® 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel-equipped TITAN XD has a starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price* (MSRP) of $40,290 for the S 4x2. The top-of-the-line Platinum Reserve 4x4 grade has an MSRP of $60,520.

Following the launch of the 2016 TITAN XD Crew Cab, the new TITAN lineup will be offered in three cab configurations, two frame sizes, three powertrain offerings and five grade levels. More information on the full lineup will be available at a later date.

Curious what that base 2WD truck weighs and if it's as freakin' slow as the loaded up one that was tested recently.

Failure from the start, I will be surprised if they sell 50K units for 2016.

Well they have sold about 50k of the old breed.

 

I can imagine this product getting the same amount next year.

 

Or even getting a solid 100k units next year. This truck is heavy, no doubt, but every test of this truck has its towing confidence compared to the big rigs. So it's performance of intended function, in one aspect is actually quite spectacular.

 

Being devil's advocate as per usual, of course.

There'll be enough people looking to buy the Cummins to make it a bigger seller than its predecessor. But aside from the engine there isn't a whole lot about the truck that's noteworthy.

I wanted to like the truck but I just don't see where it gains over other offerings.  It hyped up as a heavy half.  But I don't see what is so impressive about being on par with what is already being done.  The towing and payload is on par with other 1/2 ton trucks.  So no substantial benefit there.  Then there is the diesel that is getting about the same MPG's as other 1/2 ton trucks with gas power plants, but with the extra cost of opting for diesel.  So no substantial benefit there.  I think Nissan missed the mark on this one.  They have a truck that is a smudge over a 1/2 ton in some areas,, but nothing noteworthy.  Also well below the capability of 3/4 ton but with a price tag approaching a heavy duty. I have read that it is overbuilt.  So maybe this is the first step for Nissan in getting a true HD offering.  If that's the case then just make an HD and be done with it.  There is no real point in this XD truck other than saying it has a Cummins.  One that does not outperform its gas competition in any meaningful way.
