  1. Here's an example: Perhaps the most direct competitor to the Buick Lacrosse is either the Toyota Avalon or the Lexus ES. The Avalon comes standard with active cruise, lane departure, automatic high beams. You can bet the new ES will come with all of that standard as well. You can't get any of that until you option up to the very top non-Avenir package and then it is still an additional $1600 on top of that. To add insult to injury, the Corolla even comes standard with that tech now. Then, as @Paolino has pointed out, rain sensing wipers aren't even an option on the Lacrosse but are available in my Encore. I get that premium brands want to charge extra for things (Benz and BMW charge you extra for Apple Car Play when it is standard in just about every mainstream brand vehicle), but even just forcing people into top of the line trim before making a feature available isn't very good business.... especially safety features. It's not just Buick either. I've seen other GM brands doing this with the newer models also.

  2. One of my biggest gripes with Buick is it appears the competition (and often cheaper cars that don't compete) have a lot more content, and better packaging. I have to jump up 3 trim levels or even go to the top trim to get certain features that are standard on a Corolla. Sure, the LaCrosse is a much nicer, larger car, but I can't help but feel at this price and time, some things should just be standard like Blind-zone monitoring. Then there's the gripe that in order to add one feature you often have to add several other expensive packages. Anyone else get frustrated? I know I have another year before I need to get my next car, but I want to start looking now so I'm ready to go right before my lease is up.

  3. This house is about 10 mins from me. For about a year plus, I've been keeping an eye on it, have dubbed it 'The Mannikin House'. I scrolled side-to-side before I took this screenshot; there's 16 mannikins posed all around the house. Maybe there's more out back. Most I've ever counted is 17. They change frequently in number, position & dress. Sometimes during hard/long rainstorms, those staying outside cluster on the 2 porches. Recently my son was sitting in his car in front of the house, waiting for the light to change. The guy was getting out of his PT Cruiser. He saw my son looking at him, pulled his passenger mannikin out of the car and made it wave at my son. Between my wife & son, he's always seen wearing a 'Deny Reality' t-shirt (I've yet to see him). Don'tcha just love characters?

  4. Do you need the ceramic brakes? You will be tracking it... But...once a year? Are ceramics worth it for that once a year track thing? Is suede seats worth the 22 000 difference to you? If either of those is yes...then buy new... But...if I were you, Id buy the used one...and keep that 22 000 dollar difference and put it towards the new CT6 V Sport. I know you want that Caddy... Shyte...the new Vette and the used one really have no visual difference. You have to look very closely to see. So..im my opinion...22 000 dollars is best put towards the CT6 V-Sport. Awseome is what I need to say next!!!! Im sending you some love your way!!!

  5. Out running errands, saw a 90's full size 2 door ford bronco just like the one OJ Drove on 405 in the slow speed chase. I really wish they would bring back a full size like this with 2 doors. I just think there is a bigger group of customers being ignored by everything being 4 door SUV. At least build it with mini suicide doors for rear access but the over all size is still smaller than a 4 door expedition or tahoe.

  6. Another used vote. Yeah.. tracking one.. maybe twice per year.. if the time allows is a definite.. but not in the way the Ceramics would give me an edge. $8,000 option BTW. The Used one + a extended warranty free or otherwise seems more logical Also.. yeah the CT6 V-Sport in year two might be an a real thing.. but I say year two because the Escala has also been green-lit.. and hoping that JDN's leaving doesn't kill any future products. I love my CTS-V, but the VSport is a sure winner for me because of the extra space, luxury and lack of time to really utilize the CTS-V the way it could be. Thanks dfelt

  7. Feels like Spring today...sunny and 60s. Yesterday was cooler and overcast, but had some really interesting lighting around sunset...love that it's not getting dark until 8ish now..

  8. Buick lately is being packaged uncompetitively. I get that they're trying to be a premium brand, but many of the combinations don't make sense in light of what the competition is offering.

  9. Having been one to grow up and build racers and track, as I have gotten older, the few times I had access to either take my SS or borrow a V and go to the track, It never worked out and as such, I have to VOTE USED. I agree with @oldshurst442 to put the extra towards the CT6 V Sport or whatever surprise we get out of Cadillac in the next 24 months of Performance Pleasure. Maybe that V edition Escalade we keep hearing rumors about!

  10. And if I love Buick and want them to do better and succeed? I love the LaCrosse. I just wish I could get a LaCrosse how I want it. Well, it's kinda rude to be honest. You have NO clue what my situation is or what I've been through. I've been through a hell of a lot in my life, and as for "He has another year to go to get another car. He KNOWS he will get another car. He just does NOT know what he wants yet." You couldn't be more wrong. Having lost my job several times, still paying student loans, and dealing with a shitty past, I can safely say I do not know if I will get another car in a year. I do not know if I'll be working in a year. I've been through several transitions where I've had to borrow a car or get rides because as hard as I've worked, things haven't worked out. And even with all that... and perhaps it's foolish on my part, I give SO much of my own money to those who are less fortunate... all the time. Thousands each year.

  11. Of course you know I tend to look at this from the vintage perspective. Walk up to a given car and there's zero bundling- no way to expect Option B because it has option A. Much more configurable / individually custom. That's 'luxury' right there. Cadillac should move to ala cart options on upper tier models : CT6 / XT6 and above. Would blow the luxury consumer's mind.

  12. ^ Agreed. But along the same lines, they don't "have" to bundle a sunroof, heated steering wheel, power trunk & light up grille ornament together when they have nothing to do with each other.

  13. I certainly don't see or would classify what I said as "1st world problems". I would greatly prefer unbundled options, and further; the choice of choosing (or, as in my case; not) some 'safety' features in the same manner. Where can I buy that??

  14. You know what? Id still take the Eagle over the Mercedes... Its just a rendering though, so all this negative talk over the Mercedes is for nothing. All that I wanted to say is that what is old is new again...

  15. My 455 post-rebuild would be either a 462 or 470, so I get to claim 7.6 or 7.7L. Of course; 'liters' is for snooty European cars. And truthfully- what sounds better; '7.7' or '470'? 'Liters' or 'cubes'? Moltar, where are YOU on this one? :)
