  1. Last night, after at least 3 hours on the compumachine doing research, got tired, shut down the machine, walked thru the kitchen and picked up my cell phone. Time was 1:11. - - - - - For Moltar; comparing the '15 to the '19. :

  2. I don't understand why the Jeep truck and this are taking so long. I'd think they should have been out when the Ranger comes out. 2022? That just feels like an absurd amount of time.

  3. I remember Mailbox baseball and my dad fixed it by using a commercial I-beam in 4' deep cement along with welding a new mailbox out of 1" thick commercial sheet steel. The next time the kids tried, they ended up having damage to their car and and a we got a bat. I think the kid swung, hit an immovable object and the bat left the hands, hit the car and no more mailbox baseball attacks.

  4. In the most recent five-year plan for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ram Trucks revealed that it planned to have a new midsize truck by 2022. Thanks to a new report from Automotive News, we have some tantalizing details. According to supplier sources, the new Ram truck will be built at FCA's Toledo, Ohio plant - home to the Wrangler and upcoming Wrangler pickup. Half of the plant has been shutdown since April for retooling to make way for the Wrangler pickup. The line regularly built more than 230,000 JK Wranglers per year before undergoing the retooling process. FCA is not expecting the Wrangler truck to sell in high numbers, leaving a fair amount of capacity ready for another vehicle. Hence where the Ram midsize comes in. This also reveals that the midsize truck will be body-on frame. We've heard previously that Ram was considering unibody construction. The truck is expected to debut in 2020 as a 2021 model. 5. No need for Cadillac to have a diesel engine vehicle for the first time since the early 80s. A fully electric Cadillac XT5 would be really sweet these days.

  6. Ah yeah, the Fullback...I remember reading about that..it and the Mitsu compete w/ the Ranger, Hilux, Navara, Anorak, etc in Europe and Asia.... could give it a squared off Ram nose and badge it as the Ram 50.. ala 1980.

  7. Yes, a rebadged version of the Mitsubishi Triton/L200. I believe this new Ram truck will replace the Fullback.

  8. I think it was something offered in regular cab trucks, because you need to be able to turn off the passenger airbag if using a child safety seat. I recall reading something about that long ago.

  9. ^ With all that cladding- would make a fitting subaru truck.

  10. Hmmm....a switch to turn off airbags seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen...unless it can only be activated when in 4 wheel low and for low speeds...

  11. Yes, in Mexico, but IIRC it's based on old FWD Fiat car platform...doubt if it could be federalized or if it would sell well enough here...I saw a few of them in AZ and So Cal. Ram 700 https://jalopnik.com/the-tiny-ram-700-pickup-truck-can-carry-more-than-half-1652291667

  12. Yeah, my point was just that you're not going to get anything new for quite some time.

  13. I think FCA is just undercapitalized and understaffed so everything takes forever to get going...the Ranger was easy, since it was an existing product that they brought in to NA.

  14. Whatever, believe what you want. The steep windshields are for aerodynamics. Only 3.9% of American men are over 6'2", so automakers aren't focusing on NFL/NBA sized people but on the majority.

  15. Absurd supposition about Asian vehicles being made for small people only, considering the number of Asian brand vehicles that are specifically designed for the US market...like the Altima, Camry, Tundra, Pilot, etc..

  16. Although I usually prefer Cadillacs of the seventies, this unrestored 1965 Calais Coupe looks superb: http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item3f0e0ae7ff To think all this style and class was incorporated into the most "basic" Cadillac offered! This example features power windows (including vent windows), power door locks (with the button being the actual door lock lever high-up on the door), power seat and guide-matic headlamp control. It was in such gorgeous original shape I thought it was a great representation that even the "base" model featured great styling!

  17. The hell are you talking about DFelt. When the Tundra was new it had the largest cab sizes available in its class The Taco has only recently had competition. Honda Accord is supremely spacious. So is Camry. Literally every excuse of the American cars is that they’re too small. Way to go to pick on Mazda. The CX9 was not built for small people. It was built to kick every other 3 rows ass in style. And it does that in spades.

  18. Well, picked up a '19 Ram 1500 Big Horn this evening to replace the Traverse. Crew cab, Hemi, Diamond Back Crystal Pearl. Try again in 2 years, GM.

  19. Nope, CX9 sucks on space, people over 6' tall are cramped, lack of versatile seats was a big problem till this years version and still you hit your head getting into them due to their Komodo dragon style of extreme sloped windshield. Mazda Failure. Trucks, Tundra had the measurements, but not the real space same with the taco. Measurements but not real space for real large Americans. Your probably average, 5'8" to 5' 10" tall, try getting into them when your 6'6" tall and large frame. Asian built for small petite Asian size.
