Bravo! Next time be sure to use ‘impact’ font, though. No, you are correct. She is very beautiful and perfect in that way.3 points

I didn't have car in HS, where I grew up it is very expensive to own a car and driving starts at 18, so no cars in high school. When I started working in US I bought used 1996 Mazda MX-6 with almost 100k miles in mint condition. 2.5L V6 (!), 5-speed manual transmission. It was a great car, but unfortunately designed for people under 6 feet tall (I am being 6'1" was somewhat an issue). Loved that car and drove it till it had 200k miles, than got a better job and was getting married so needed something more sensible. Not exact picture of my car but it was just like this one.3 points

Once they satisfy the over paying baby boomers who want to live the experience, the rest of us will say PASS. The boat will then end up as a gambling boat in China or gutted and redone to modern day style as those cramped conditions in the lower tier cabins no one wants. Even today's modern boats are cramped. I just do not see what the big deal is about the boat or the movie which I honestly never saw. My daughter and wife went to see it multiple times and my daughter owns the sound track. She is banned from playing it at home any time I am home. I am so sick of the music and the whole jack crap story.3 points

LOL I shouldn't say this but although I gave my mother a down payment to lease a Kia Forte, she still mentions... every time I am with her on the road... the Kia Soul and the new... wait for it... Nissan "Chinx". I told her it is called Kicks, but she keeps forgetting. She likes weird cars, what can I say. Although the Kicks seems cheerful and kitted well for the price point.2 points

Whilst enjoying a bowl of pho for dinner I looked out the window of the restaurant and saw two dark compact crossovers parked nose to tail that I did not recognize. One looked kind of like the Trax or Encore in the rear quarter, the other had a slash rising through the doors into a short rear quarter w/ Volvo-like pointy taillights (from the side). I couldn't see the front or rear, only the side profiles and didn't see any badging. I wasn't sure what either was, but I assumed Japanese. Very disturbing to not recognize a new vehicle immediately; I'm usually better than that..I guess I haven't been paying as close attention as I did for the last 40+ years of new vehicle releases. I went out and walked around them after dinner, turned out they were the Nissan Kicks and Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. Interesting.. Then I went over to the Shell station to procure some petrol for my Jeep, and saw a new black Honda Civic Type R pull up. Everything black--windows, wheels, etc. Very sinister. What cracked me up was how the driver was dressed--young Asian guy in flip flops, shorts and a t-shirt. It's 45F outside...2 points

It looks tiny in photos because of the short rear, but it's a couple inches longer than the Escape, slightly smaller than the Equinox.2 points

the 2.0L thing is a strong vote.. and I still keep seeing things about it being coupled to a EV motor for more power and efficiency. They are apparently working on that for even the Camaro as well. To the $5 door handles.. whatever the situation was.. the door handles on the CTS, CT6, Escalade, XT5, XTS.. are fuckin sweet. The cool factor is evident every time I unlock my ride and people swoon around that basic shit like "How did they do that?" Too Bad I may be without a Cadillac for about a year.. as I see the intro of the CT5 as a reason why my CTS-V value will drop and I'm considering selling it within a few months. That being said.. my next Caddy will probably be the CT6-V around end of the summer of '19.. and when I hit 150K miles on the Yukon,.. the 2020 or 2021 Escalade2 points

Yeah, but they don't have any platforms for that, their lineup is just generic FWD/AWD appliances in Holden OZ now. End of the road for V8 performance in OZ, wonder what will become of HSV. I thought they were going to import the Camaro and Corvette, but that seems to have gone nowhere.2 points

OK- here's me & my first vehicle : '64 Grand Prix. I still own this car. I'm 20 in this pic ~ Being 20 tells the story- I didn't actually have a car in HS, but shortly after. My father wouldn't allow it then, tho I tried numerous times; the '64 Studebaker GT Hawk and the '59 Catalina come readily to mind.2 points

Isn't the 2.7 liter made for rear drive applications? My guess is they just dial up the boost on the 2.0 turbo, especially with the displacement tax in China over 2 liters. Some sort of electrification would be the way to go, but I feel like that will get killed buy the bean counters due to cost, even though it is freaking Cadillac and they shouldn't be worried about cost. These are the people that thought $5 for a CT6 door handle was too much cost. And they better bring more than 310 hp if they want to compete with the Germans, more like 400 hp. Nope.2 points

Cadillac dealer had a couple new XT4's! Couldn't drive, and the particular ones they had were more pricey. But I sat in the one and got some pics. I like that it has back some of the Art and Science Edginess and more youthful swagger to it. The cabin in the front row is a very nice width for a compact, the seats way very comfy, and the ergonomics of the screen, wheel, shifter, and especially the selector wheel for the screen were very well thought out. Rear leg room depends on how the front seat is set. For a 'compact' its adequate space. But the rear row has a short seat back, and if the front seat is back far, then leg room for taller folks is tight. Rear backrest i don't think reclines either. Overall i would say for driver and passenger there is not really space issues. Cargo hold is small, but your impression of the size of the cargo area is consistent with the published cargo area numbers. This is a nice size vehicle for a single person, empty nester, urbanites, people who don't need or want too huge a vehicle to park. I anticipate it will be a nice drive. Looking in and out the vehicle seems pretty nice. Kinda seems to make the XT5 feel moldy and crusty.1 point

The bad news keeps hitting Faraday Future. Earlier this month, we reported on the fight between the automaker and its latest backer, Evergrande Health Industry Group. Faraday claims that Evergrande failed to provide additional funds as part of an investment deal. Evergrande has denied this claim and has brought in lawyers to fight this charge. But this row has caused the electric car start-up to make some difficult decisions. The Verge obtained an email sent to Faraday Future staff on Sunday night, announcing that staff salaries would be cut by 20 percent, and laying off some workers. The email also states that FF CEO Jia Yueting has decreased his annual salary to $1.00. The austerity measures will begin next week. “The company is committed to monitoring its finances and will reevaluate this decision with the goal of restoring salaries once funding is available,” the email states. It's unclear how many people will be laid off. A representative for FF did not respond to The Verge when asked for a comment. Source: Bloomberg, The Verge View full article1 point

It does come across as very driver focussed and used friendly. Also...you have to love c and g. GM drops half a billion dollars to develop a new product and one page in we have lost interest in the vehicle and are talking about not women. Granted the women in question look better from behind than the caddy...1 point

Given how slowly the Camaro is selling here sending them to another continent seems rational. Meanwhile GM does well in the Chinese market while Ford Falters. I will happily allow the blue oval boys to dominate the tiny Australian pony car market while GM goes nuts in a market with a billion people.1 point

Still...domestics need to do better...as do the Europeans1 point

They've watered the brand down similar to how Ford has watered the Titanium trim level. At one point if you got a Titanium it was loaded or there was 1 or 2 options. Now you still have a choice in engines on top of all the other boxes you can tick, including front or AWD. At first, it was big engine, AWD, and most every option included. You can get a 2WD, 5.3L "Denali". Yeah yeah yeah... "BUT WHAT IF I WANT BETTER FUEL MILEAGE AND DONT NEED A 6.2 AND 4WD???" You're spending 60k on a truck... don't act like 2mpg will hurt you now.1 point

To be fair; I'm NOT knocking the XT4 woman, she's very attractive. WRT Levieva ('The Deuce' woman above,) I see she's actually 38, but yes- she looks notably younger. Helps she was a competitive gymnast prior to; she's in great shape (and doesn't have mom thighs ). Boils down to genes tho; Maggie Gyllenhaal (same show) is 40 but could be 50 by looks; they're only 2 years apart.1 point

I'm not a fan of many retro things, including car rehashes and movie reboots. The whole thing today for ocean liners and cruise ships in order to be successful is the maximization of outside cabins, either with large picture windows or balconies. Even the big ships released in the 1960s (the QE2 and the France) would fall short on that criteria. I am not looking forward to seeing this. I know that it will have to be a certain length to get through the Panama Canal. At 963 feet, the QE2 could get through the canal and was able to visit L.A. or S.F. annually on her World Cruise because of that. At between 1,100 and 1,200 feet in length, the new QM2, Cunard's current flagship, cannot use the Panama Canal and has to go around South America. That's why L.A. and S.F. have only seen her a time or two. After going around South America, she heads to East Asia, Polynesia, and Australia during the winter and then runs transatlantic service during the summer. I'm guessing the (new) Titanic was and is going to be shorter than the QE2, making a Panama Canal crossing feasible.1 point

I'm sure that's part of it, but we also need to take into consideration the growing demand for crossovers and utes in the country as well. Here's a chart from CarAdvice breaking down segment sales in September1 point

That’s pretty much it. Their rebadge of the Insignia as a frickin’ Commodore was perhaps the stupidest thing they could have done. They would have even preserved the name of the Commodore if they had just let the model die out peacefully instead of this horrible nameplate transfer.1 point

Used current body CTS are out there for good prices. The XT5 feels a bit old timer to me. I bet the 19 CT6 with the revised shifter and CUE knob, and v8 option motor would be truly badass.1 point

Can’t overstate the great ergonomics of the wheel, gauges, screen and shifter etc. the rotary switch for cue falls right to hand and makes screen selections easy Peazy. Screen operates lightning fast. Particularly when using the rotary wheel. GM is definitely on to something with dropping the gauges and screen lower and tilted a bit towards horizontal. And closer to the driver.1 point

At least other interior colors are fairly available The sense of black wasn’t overly overwhelming So many cars are all black inside these days (that was why I was so glad to take another regal sportback test drive with the tan interior yesterday!) the black inside the XT4 is more like a ‘really dark gray’ the rear seat with the front in ghetto style for large me, was tight in the back. When I readjusted the front seat for a normal person or a chica I had pretty good knee clearance for fat ass me. Its larger than an encore in the back. Larger than an ATS. Maybe even comparable to the CTS. Tighter for leg room and a more upright backrest than a Terrain. Width wise I think it feels wider than an Equinox. I think the CGI’s and legroom numbers may be a bit misleading. It’s probably more comfy than an Escape in the back. Not sure about how it compares to say, a Jeep Compass. This would be a cool ocnblu ride though. Lots of swagger.1 point
