Wish they would allow two Emoji on a post as my first was and the second was ? Totally agree with you, Escala with AWD Electric would rock! Talk about being the most quiet smooth ride around! Truly World Class Leading.2 points

Cause MT, C&D, Jalopnik, Truth About Cars.. etc will SCREAM IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS that GM is doing it. Now.. me personally.. I'm hoping that Cadillac is keeping the CT6 and just changing the name as I said before. Call it CT6=Escala. Change the back.. I would scoop this up in a NY sec2 points

Sad deal is, the Cruze now, apart from needing a little more go juice is a pretty good small car. And definitely better than a corolla. It’s irritating to see corolla get new duds and Cruze get hammered. If Chevy has out a sexy front end on the current Cruze I think it’s fortunes would be different. 30K sticker prices don’t help either. When the current Cruze is done and used ones with 20k miles are available for cheap, and gas goes to 5 bucks a gallon like IT WILL. That Cruze will be a good buy for your college kid or a second car for the household.2 points

The common thought today is that the sedan market in the U.S. is dying. If that's the case, the 2020 Toyota Corolla hasn't given any reasons that it should stick around. While styling could be considered bolder over the prior model, it is still bland in person. Front and rear facias nearly mirror each other in a Studebaker-like "is it coming or going?" way. The styling of the interior hasn't changed in any significant way though the materials are somewhat improved. Mediocre engine choices, unlike the 2020 Kia Soul, leave little to be excited over. The addition of a hybrid option is interesting, but only for people who think the Prius is too fugly to drive, otherwise, they would just buy the real thing. The Corolla is the best selling car nameplate in history, but this latest version leaves little reason for that record to continue. In a tough small sedan market, it is going to take more than just more of the same to move the needle. Dull, conventional, boring..... that's my opinion of the 2020 Corolla1 point

Let's go ask Germans if they had any issue buying an S-class built in South Carolina, USA.1 point

Like I said before.. zero reason why there shouldn't be one for Cadillac. Its a no brainer, if for no other reasons than Halo effect and plant utilization. Not to mention the FE Corvette will continue to be in production.. probably because this C8 is gonna cost north of $130K I bet. If its anything less.. it will be the bargain of a lifetime, and interesting enuff.. that's not good1 point

Escalade, CT4, CT5, XT6, XT5 (refresh).... not in that order XT6 will be in Detroit in January.1 point

Oh no doubt. In fact that would be perfect, and a splash that would send the brand on high. JESUS!!! Did U read what U wrote? That would be fantastic! AWD and Electric.. of course I would still have an optional 4.2L TTV8 for the hold outs.. which would be simply insane. so three? but a forth could also be in there as the words I read were always "THRU 2020." XT6 is one.. I wish that replacement vehicles were not included.1 point

Yet they import and sell all the S-Class from Germany, so why would the 1% care about where the auto is built?1 point

Problem is.. that only because its GM would anyone know. Seriously.. I've never seen a company that inspires so much press about what it does for Americans.. while at the same times have American openly say how much they hate GM..not even for the cars.. just because. Either way.. the average American.. if GM were to properly market the vehicle.. hell the way they are currently doing with the XT4.. they could sell 3X what they have been.. As Americans don't really care where the car comes from.. just look at Volvo. Sales numbers technically and surprisingly are a lot considering the segment. 808 per month as of Sept.. vs 681 per month for the 7 Series 741 for the Lexus LS 284 for the Audi A8 and A7 COMBINED.. (I said the Audi A8+A7 have only sold 2560 units this whole year combined and GM is king the CT6 for selling 7272?) BTW.. I never could figure out how they expected the CTS or the CT6 to truly show a real un-touched number with the vehicles being so closely aligned in either size or price. The XTS and the CTS we exactly the same price.. while the CT6 and XTS were damn near the same size.. visually the were exactly the same size.. and after the exterior redo of the XTS recently.. even I had to do a double take to tell the difference.1 point

That would be an excellent approach- discontinue the XTS and pump the CT6 volume up. Put it in another US plant, because I'd never buy a Chinese-built version and I don't think it does Cadillac any favors to import it.1 point

In working on my Pontiac dealer code project, I have been neck-deep in Pontiacs of all stripes online. My amazement at the streak of top tier appeal they executed over decades has been renewed- the Division really did have a stellar, perhaps unmatched run of product that hobbyists/collectors continue to embraced with great enthusiasm. My son & a few buddies here have been on me to do something with my sleeping '64 GP- perhaps I have grown jaded toward it and they see it fresher than I do.1 point

Read between the lines.... the official line is that the CT6 is no longer going to be produced in North America. It will remain in production in other countries.1 point

The reduction in horsepower in favor of the twin-turbo setup still won't be enough for @smk4565... he'll find something wrong with the headliner or the insides of the glovebox.1 point

I do like the visual packaging on it...it does not need to be a sports car...just a performance vehicle. So let them loose him as a customer. Trying to be everything to everybody all of the time hasn't helped GM. They do not need a car for every buyer...just cars for people willing to pay a reasonable premium for. Economically it makes no sense to be bottom feeders in any market. But especially cars. I for one am curious what Cadillac has in store for us.1 point

and I love the sport back.. Hence.. DEATH!!! I maintain that when the Verano was selling it was actually more profitable.. Even worse is that the Cruze offers everything the Malibu and even Impala have.. 'cept its smaller and cheaper. Why??? Why can Toyota get away with offering a Corolla which is fundamentally the same car as it was 20 years ago??? Because it doesn't market it as anything other than BASIC. If GM had of marketed the Cruze as a basic car and not some mini Impala I think that they could have gotten away with lessening content, thus improving profits. Shoot.. I'd go so far as to say that U only have the newest workers assembling Cruzes just because U pay them less due to the UAW contract.1 point

...and the Corolla is perfect for him. I feel the same way about the demise for the most part of small sporty cars.1 point

In defense of the Corolla, they last forever. I know some folks who have gotten more than their money's worth. Now, a timing chain has replaced a timing belt. It's a boring car, indeed. However, I'd rather have a Corolla given to me as a mid-size when renting rather than getting a Camry as a full-size when renting. Of the Japanese full-sizes (in today's terms), the Camry has the vaguest road manners. The instrument panel on them is also too fussy for short-term "ownership." I'd much rather have a Chevy Cruze or a Ford Focus than a Corolla. The Cruze has kept getting better and better from its Cavalier and Cobalt heritage. I am very saddened by changing consumer preferences in automotive purchases. I like my coupes and sedans.1 point

Exactly....Although it would be an awesome powertrain Option. Kind of like the l79 66 Nova that was supposedly faster than some of the Vettes they offered that year... No sane person could look at the new Regal and say that Buicks are just for Old people. No sane person.1 point

i don't see the Cruze going away. GM needs it for CAFE. Regarding the CT6, no way they kill that car after just announcing the v8 for it. Plus, it delivers what real Cadillac fans want. Size. My bet is they move it to another plant, China, or change it to CT7 as suggested. If Cadillac fully kills that car, then fuck them. They deserve what they have coming to them. Will anyone give two shits about Cadillac if they don't offer a full sized sedan? (but will probably still have a CT3 or CT4). I saw an interior spy photo of the CT5 interior on Burlapp cars. That won't take any business away from the Germans for interior design and quality. It's a reconfigured XT4 interior. The other point about this being a pre-emptive strike in the labor war, that makes sense to me also. Sorry to throw this out there, but post 2009, Barra led GM is becoming a joke. Spend all the $$$ on chasing autonomous cars and complying with CAFE. Mistakes with Camaro. No impactful EV releases that would challenge Tesla. Looking to move all vehicle assembly out of the US, seemingly. No performance vehicles for the average Joe, that aren't a pony car.1 point
