  2. I took a tour of the Arizona Tallesin West some years ago and a few of his houses in Oak Park, Il. Still need to see Fallingwater, and another one near here. The horrific climate of Arizona is hard on buildings (TW has had a restoration or two). I like the lines and use of red in his houses, the wood and stone, along w the glass work. A lot of his custom designed furniture looks very uncomfortable and he designed doorways for short people. In So Cal, I love the mid-century Neutra, Eichler and A. Quincy Jones designed-homes..toured a few in Palm Springs a few years ago. Speaking of wood and stone and color in houses, went to this one open house today, was a spacious 70s ranch with a 2 car garage and detached 3 car garage and RV garage. Dark stone and dk brown trim outside, some interesting finishes inside but hideously remodeled bathrooms (weird ‘rustic’) and a dark, dour gray kitchen w black cabinets. Another Cape Cod style house right on the lake was charming on the outside, but so dull and sterile inside—-all white w light gray tile and painted white stone around the fireplace... Another place right on the lake that I liked had a 4 car garage but was 1300 sq ft w 2 bedrooms. But it had a boat house and a bit of beach.

  4. Wait - isn't a mere 500 units equal to "no one buys them" ??

  5. Just curious; how many do you think would sell, when you continually claim "no one" bought the ATS and CTS??

  7. Yeah, great voice...he was also in another band you may have heard of, 'Led Zeppelin'. A solo song of his I really like is 'Ship of Fools' from '88. The song 'Sea of Love' was also used in the film 'Sea of Love' IIRC...a murder mystery w/ Al Pacino and Ellen Barkin. I saw Robert Plant on a solo tour about 10 years ago, he's great live. And the Stray Cats guy later formed a band called 'The Brian Setzer Orchestra'.

  8. Last I heard this version of this song was when this song was a hit. Whenever that was. If memory serves me well, 1984. I just knew of this group as the Honeydrippers. This song was everywhere. It played non stop. It was a cool song. Great song! Great vocals! The Stray Cats were popular then too. I knew that Sea of Love was a cover back then, and I knew that Rock This Town was a tribute to 1950s Rock, and this tune made me think of Bill Haley...thanks in part to Happy Days. And then, well, both tunes faded into memory as the 1980s marched on with more awesome music. So...Im in my car today, and the Honeydrippers Sea of Love is playing on the radio. So I listen to it with nostalgia. But then, that voice. Oh sure...I remembered that voice from 1984: "Do you remember, when we met...I want to tell you, how much I love you...come with me, to the sea..." I remembered just how awesome those vocals are. But THIS time, Im also identifying that voice with other stuff...I cant put my finger on it....I am positive that I know that voice. It escapes me and then the song is over. Honeydrippers rushes to the front of my memory banks. So I google. ROBERT PLANT???!!! "Waaaaaay down inside...Woooman! Yoouuuu need! Loooooove!" MIND PHOQUING BLOWN!!!!

  11. ^ Fiscally-speaking, ocnblu is correct. They're brimming with 'gee-whiz' and 'feel good-i-ness', but that doesn't pay the electric bill. Just read a financial piece stating EVs wouldn't surpass IC vehicles in sales until 2038. And even then, their graph showed inexplicably-escalating future sales to get there. What happened to "2025" ???? I know; reality. Same article also stated passenger EV sales in the US were 6% last year. They weren't- they were 2%. Even on a reduced volume of 15,000,000, 6% would be 900,000 EVs. We're years away from even that level of sales.

  12. No way a company that loses $40 million a year with very small revenue can buy a factory that costs millions to run. GM has lost money in factories making 300k vehicles or more in a year, these big factories need to be up near capacity to cover all the overhead.
