We are. One person gets offended and that gets the ball rolling. Then, statues have to come down and streets need to be renamed. It sucks. And the thin skinned a-holes suck, too. Life was better before the New Millennium ... in my mind.3 points

You just like to pick on FCA. They sell more Jeeps than Volkswagen and Audi combined. They sell more than all of Hyundai. They sell more than all of Kia. They're moving a lot of metal. Jeep alone sells about 50% of the entire Toyota brand.3 points

Are we tailoring the world exclusively to 'younger people'?? Seems weird if so, especially in connection with motor vehicles since they don't buy any. Bit I read said there was a dealership employee that made an inappropriate comment to a female customer, and that was part of the reason it was removed. A lot of people petitioned to keep it, but you know how the world is today- one person is offended (or thinks another one person may be offended), and the thing in question is stricken from sight. Apparently the Chief was in deteriorated condition, but is getting restored and installed at the Pontiac Museum (I disremember where that is, but it may well be in Pontiac MI). - - - - - A Green Slick Deal For Ocn ~2 points

GM does do way too many gray interiors. They could learn a think or two from Kia and Hyundai interiors at this point.2 points

The grant was for $2.4 million which is chump change compared to companies like Amazon who had to be enticed with more than $2 Billion just to move to overpriced New York City. Some more details on this deal. https://www.crainsdetroit.com/manufacturing/battery-maker-akasol-plans-40-million-plant-hazel-park-raceway-site1 point

Fair questions, but Detroit really needs those jobs, especially with the 21st Century (not the 1950s) in mind. I do hope that solid state batteries will be made here, if only to future-proof the plant and the jobs brought here.1 point

If your entire auto fleet lacks BOF (and V8 engines), then 36 MPG by 2025 is not only possible, it is likely to happen. Those who rely on BOF (and V8 engines) for maximum profits will have serious issues meeting that standard. Just sayin'.1 point

Proposing to freeze emissions standards at a future level (2021) is not "relaxing" anything and frankly, achieving 36 composite fleet MPG by 2025 isn't tenable, esp with EVs parked at 2% of the market. That future standard was written when people were still envisioning a tsunami of EV sales; reality is settling in vs. science fiction. In other words; 2025 is too soon for 36 MPG fleet.1 point

Yep, Silverado would be a distant 3rd place to the F150 and Ram. I'd really have to drive and fiddle around with the Ram and F150 to decide which I'd buy(assuming both are optioned and priced the sam, which is pretty difficult in itself to find).1 point

@dfelt Thank you ... thank you. I love it. So, then, Snohomish and Pierce Counties are in on the deal. Good to see it might eventually reach Everett and Tacoma, respectively. I'm having trouble envisioning light rail to Issaquah, to the base of the "Issaquah Alps." You'd think NIMBY. I remember misty, foggy mornings having breakfast when there were empty fields near the Bob's Big Boy that was once there. It was amazing to ride it from Downtown (Westlake station) to the new University of Washington station in all of about 6 minutes. In gridlock, driving that can take 36 ... or 46 minutes. Also, Fife is a great name for a dog!1 point

@trinacriabob The tunnel become functional and in use this past January 2019. Demolition of the Viaduct began in May. All next week they will destroy the section next to my work at First and King Street. The Lite Rail planners wanted to increase use by the Rainer Beach area, but sadly it was clearly a mistake as the folks living there do not use it as much as expected and so it increased the cost and time to get from the airport to Downtown seattle. Lite Rail from Seattle to the East side along with to the north end being Lynnwood will go live in 2024.1 point

I like the CTS coupe a lot..it grew on me...it's a very distinctive design and I like the sharp angles. The ATS coupe is nice, but it just looks like a 2dr version of a 4dr...not as distinctive.1 point

Model 3 is doing decent, but Model S is only averaging 1200/mn, Model X 1500/mn. The pace is 160K/yr, but they were supposed to be at 500K/yr this year.1 point

So two days after having to PTS Penny, I'm at the vet for routine vaccinations and the vet discovers a heart murmur in Zo, our 13yr old Yorkie boy. Had him 7 years on July 1st. After an x-ray, the doctor believes he has an enlarged heart and early signs of congenital heart disease...managable w/ meds...I got some meds for him and will be going back next week for blood work. Not a good week...0 points
