  1. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! ??

  2. I’m too ‘established in my experience’ to have the brakes & steering wheel fighting me for control. Toyota can go F itself; keep them optional/ defeatable or disabable.

  3. They're priced low enough, no rebates neeeded. These are examples GM should study of price it right from the start... And have dealers end up with 2 left, and lists of people waiting for the right combo to come in. Oh, the tragedies of Lane Keep helper...blind spot...or auto stopping? No worries. GM still barely offers any of these "standard on a Corolla" features even on a Cadillac, so one brand group is still safe for you.

  4. Agreed. Normal customer goes to see the Telluride then "let's check out an Acadia too..." Jogs back to Kia. No contest. Having seen the Hyundai Palisade now, meh. Same guts & size, semi weird bubble styling, no shifter, etc. The Kia still wins for me overall, in size, shape, fit, and such. But glad to see both give 2 different flavors, with far more quality, refinement, etc. for thousands less than the competition. Tellurides are all over NY. Dealer I visited in Buffalo area last week..."it's great. We only have 2 left right now, and good example, last night a customer with a newer Q7 came in and said "I'm over the Audi. Tried it. I need a Telluride. Can you get me one?" Taking orders and doing swaps as much as they can to keep up.

  5. Actually to be technically correct, VW and Audi don't make or sell any Jeeps (Horse ducks from wrench thrown from Pittsburgh...)....but yes you are correct. Rail and Semi traffic is down, the indicators are there. Conflict with Iran and the middle east that is self induced from Washington won't help matters either. markets like stability. I love the F series....even being down on ford, I just love the F series. Unfortunately, yes...on the part of the Silverado. Hyundai and KIA do have their A game on, I will sport you that one at least.

  6. We took ours from Michigan to Florida and back including driving through the mountains on the back roads from Atlanta to Pigeon Forge and I bet it averaged 26 - 26.5 mpg for the round trip. The stop/start did quit working coming down one of those mountains, though. They replaced the battery and reflashed it and it has been good since. The dealership told me I needed to drive it more. I told the guy, more than the 17,500 miles I put on it in the first 12 months of ownership? ? On a side note, don't put bad windshield washer solvent in these. Cost me $320 for a new pump, filter and blowing out the lines. Could have done it myself for $40 worth of parts but just didn't feel like messing around with it. Anyway, they said use the blue stuff only.

  7. They have volume now but Jeep has been down almost every month the past year or so. And the market they compete in is getting more and more flooded. I think Jeep has great brand image and styling, but the nuts and bolts of their product is still FCA parts bin which means lackluster interiors and poor reliability. Jeep is right down there at the bottom of reliability ratings with Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Dodge. Hyundai and Kia are bringing a ton of SUVs that look pretty good online, and their quality and reliability is really good, they are going to steal sales off Jeep all day long. Ford has 1 or 2 Bronco's coming, GM has more SUVs coming, although most of these seem like boring Asian designs. VW could step up their SUV game, their stuff looks boring and isn't that nice inside for what you are paying.

  8. You just like to pick on FCA. They sell more Jeeps than Volkswagen and Audi combined. They sell more than all of Hyundai. They sell more than all of Kia. They're moving a lot of metal. Jeep alone sells about 50% of the entire Toyota brand.

  9. I think you'd be fine with either of the Buicks, however the '16 feels a bit larger inside than the '18. I think you'll appreciate the space.

  10. Look how much nicer finished the Kia Sorento load area is, compared to the Acadia. GM, WTH has happened to you?

  11. So two days after having to PTS Penny, I'm at the vet for routine vaccinations and the vet discovers a heart murmur in Zo, our 13yr old Yorkie boy. Had him 7 years on July 1st. After an x-ray, the doctor believes he has an enlarged heart and early signs of congenital heart disease...managable w/ meds...I got some meds for him and will be going back next week for blood work. Not a good week...
