  4. I definitely notice the difference between my new 6.4 second rig and my previous 8.6 or so rig.

  5. 0-60 may be a dumb metric, but is there really any other way to measure off the line feel?

  6. Tell it to me wife ... On a more serious note, my wife as an example doesn't know and doesn't care what is 0-60 time is, however when she test drove cars, the feel of acceleration from stop, how fast the car got going made a big difference in her decision. Most people don't "care" what exact 0-60 times is but a lot of people care how well car accelerates from a stop. Most people don't floor it all the time but from experience there is a big difference in "feel" between a 6 second car and 7.5-8 sec.

  7. No car is sold on a single statistic, so 0-60 is not more important than other stats. But it's an indicator of the potential of a car's acceleration, just as the cubic foot space of a trunk is an indicator of just how much crap you can shove back there... or the towing capacity of a 3/4-ton truck indicates that. Doesn't mean you have to use the vehicle to these capacities, ever. Which is exactly why Car A being quicker to -let's say 60 MPH, than Car B is not a deficiency for Car B. People seldom (and sometimes never) use their vehicles to their max capacity... yet still these stats effect people's consumerism. Bizarre, isn't it? Does '0-60' "need" to be replaced? Nope.

  11. You do understand that not every car needs to have competition right? Every model you have posted represents a tiny fraction of sales and this perfectly illustrates why companies like GM don’t need to waste too much time with niche models like that when their bigger things to worry about long term. And go hug yourself because I’m not angry at all. Quite the opposite as a matter of fact. Just done placating children like yourself.

  12. "Superior fit and finish" that starts with faux leather on the "best or nothing" while displaying a design that only Helen Keller could love. Those pics do the C Class and A Class no favors. If those had any other badge on the hood, the resident Daimler fans would be losing their minds at how cheap it looks compared to Benz.

  13. Another weak engine that has to rev high to just move due to weak torque. ?

  14. Well he keeps getting big investments from big companies, so they must see something positive there. I don't recall Tesla getting the same kind of investment funding.

  16. Even in my car with a 0-60 that can be measured with a sundial, I rarely ever floor it. I have to disagree with the idea that an 8 second car is slow. Big old RWD Chevy Impalas are 8 second cars and they are way more than the average driver can handle anyway. Part of that is because of the torque they've got.

  17. 0-60, 5-60, 30-50, 50-70, 0-100, quarter mile, I always look up those stats. Seat of the pants impressions for me are often in line with the numbers IMO. i would balk at purchasing any car with a 0-60 above say, 9 seconds.

  20. Thats why most sources use 0-30, 0-60 & 1/4-mile at a minimum. Enhancement. But the argument that ‘no one does max accel runs 0-60’ is just as applicable to 30-70.

  21. Some of the 18’s are going for more than 10 grand off sticker, but I was fortunate to find this 19 at about 10k off, so about 31,600. Plus my GM card dollars !. The demo discount helped. But here is the caveat. You basically will find almost none with adaptive cruise, or with all the packages in one car. There is a preferred 18 with blind spot package, moonroof, and Bose that they have almost 14 grand off list right now which is the one I should have bought, it’s at 24,600 right now. But that doesn’t have dual zone climate or heated seats or an armrest in the back seat. Maybe if they put heated seats in an all wheel drive car being marketed in a northern state maybe it wouldn’t sit on a lot for 2 years waiting to get sold. Im not sure why GM loves to introduce new models, roll them out slow with no advertising or incentives, then they sit for 1, 2, even more years in bunches on the lots. It is amazing how many blazers and xt4’s have been sitting on lots for a year or so now, I have no idea when they are ever going to get sold which sucks because they are nice rides. There are a shit ton of Made in Mexico blazers out there with stickers north of 50k and I struggle to understand where those are all going to go.

  22. My point is that GM uses its other brands to fill niches (when needed, thankfully no crossover coupes yet). That's why Buick has a wagon and a hatchback. That's why GMC has a luxury line. The GMC Yukon Denali XL and the GLS are only $1000 apart on base price, Escalade stars $5k higher The GLB will likely overlap quite a bit with the Terrain Denali. ... that's why GMC is relevant.

  23. I mean, if I wanted to get petty, I could point out that GMC sells 25% - 30% of its lineup as a Denali, which is mostly a chrome and leather package that cost $5k. Yet Denali sales alone outsell all of Lincoln, or Jaguar Land Rover. Cadillac is not and will never be a full line brand that has to cover every niche. GM has other brands to do that with.

  24. And show me... how many GLA45s have actually been sold. I've never seen one outside an auto show and I travel quite a bit. I've only ever seen a small handful of CLA45s. Only the XTS had just a V-Sport. ATS-V ATS-V Coupe CTS-V CTS-V Coupe CT6-V

  25. Yeah, I subscribe to Britbox and I'm set for a while on shows to catch up on. I'm only partway through Midsomer because each episode is so long. I really enjoyed Vera and I"m just about to finish Elementary.
