  1. Article is typical journalistic garbage. [Don't know what I was expecting; it's 'thetruthabout cars' after all]. Porsche & Cadillac were separated by SEVEN POINTS. out of 881. That's a difference of 0.008%. What's the margin of error again? The Truth About Cars? Meh. Unfortunately, too many people will read that, sans critical thinking, and think 'yuc-yuc, look at poor, crappy Cadillac! Can't compete with luxury brands, nope-nope!'

  2. ^^^ I agree with you 100 and 1 percent. And there were 2 comments made to that article. And at least there are 2 others that agree with us. The comment that was made of hat article to which the second guy agreed to.

  3. $55K? For a toyoter?? >>"On one hand, this makes the Tundra a very reliable and dependable truck. "<< Does it?

  4. LOL 14 MPG average? NOPE. Plus it continues to irk me when I see US flags and other patriotic stickers on foreign vehicles. Should be a white field with a red dot, not our dear old Stars & Stripes on there.

  5. I think the Hummer by GMC and the rest of the EV line up will prove to be very desirable. An auto that has passion with less required maintenance will serve people well. Excited for what is coming and willing to give Mary a chance to prove everyone wrong about passion for auto's. If they do not deliver with quality exterior / interior EVs, than I would agree with you that it is time for new leadership.

  6. LOL if we are making light of the Ct5 here, it should be stated that even though the rear quarter treatment is very questionable on the Ct5, that really the whole design of the Ct5 is weak and misses the mark of what Cadillac is. still an ok car, with a weird rear window....but the bigger picture is that the overall design, as a cadillac branded vehicle, is questionable. its time for new leadership at GM and some of these other car companies. we need less politico corporate panderers and get some product / car types back making the calls. GM has a serious deficiency in terms of passionately desirable vehicles.

  7. Ford interiors of the 2010s also. Had a rental F150 back around 2011, interior was gray plastic garbage

  9. ^ That's been the case for about 20 years now. I've been stating we're in the 98th percentile of automotive design progress for years.

  11. Bad ideas from Ford, that never should have come to fruition. Waste of time, effort and resources "I have an idea!" in a crazy meeting once that should have been stopped. They could have spent more time developing and refining the car, had they simply used an existing traditional automatic. So much extra time and effort into "it's awful. It broke again. We CAN'T sell these...ever" only to be a mess. Oh well. At least if you go ST, etc. you'll be fine, or you can have 3 days in an Enterprise rental version before they wholesale it off, and fling it around bang bang bang lights.

  12. that is a great article. that dual clutch destroyed all market equity that the Focus brand had, it threw it all in the toilet. the 2011 Focus was hailed as a great new small car except the trans issues ruined any reason for those that knew to consider one, even with the rock bottom prices of the vehicle used. all for a trans that might gain the almighty 1 or 2 mpg on the CAFE. that is why CAFE is so sick. CAFE HAS TOO MUCH INFLUENCE in the design and engineering. Really though, Ford should have gotten a traditional automatic ready for the 2013 or 14 or 15 model year to replace the dual clutch.

  14. now that i think about it, I got to drive a Fiesta ST at a ford ride and drive a few years ago,... and a Focus ST also. Both were a hoot but the Fiesta for its size was really fun. May not be a bad used car find for someone wanting a small urban car they can go to the track with if they want.

  15. My '97 is a 12 valve Cummins Ramburban 5 speed stick 4X4 with gearvendor auxillary transmission giving it 8 gears and as much as 23 mpg highway. It was built by Bayer Auto in Minnesota, I believe. I am the 4th owner and will be buried in it!!!

  16. Creativity in automotive design these days seem to focus mostly on what you can do with the headlamps/fog lights (stretch, push, pull, thin out) and goofy ledges and volumes in grilles.

  17. There is a reason for that: The Ford Escape probably crushes the Fiesta by a lot in the sales column. Small cars in general have been steamrolled out of the market by subcompact and compact CUVs.
