  1. Ugh- no. Why did Ford do it this way...
    4 points
  2. Because they want to make both Mustang and Bronco into sub brands. Diluting brand equity worked so well for GM in terms of the Cutlass and Grand Prix, and Ford wants to follow suit. 4 Door electric Mustang for the win! Not a political post but...kind of. Biden is running on "I am not the incumbent" rather than his own ideas IMHO. This worked out so well for president McGovern in 72, President Mondale in 84, President Dole in 96, President Kerry in 2004, President Romeny in 2012. Humans learn very little from their mistakes. Hell, even world war one, probably the most painful thing our species has endured, had to be repeated about twenty years later just for kicks. Again, humans learn very little from their mistakes. Even the brightest of them. Suprised they are not building a MINI Bronco based on the ECOsport. Bronco Sport Badlands....not nearly as bad as I make it out to be...but I still want the full size Bronco. That being said, I will take this all day long over a RAV 4.

  3. Why is it so hard to comprehend Ford covering all the bases with the Bronco family, with the smaller Bronco Sport and regular Bronco? It's not without precedent, I mean, look at this cool little buckaroo:

  5. KIA is getting a relaunch in 2021 with new auto's and a new sleek look according to this story. According to the CEO of KIA, the Telluride, K5, Seltos and restyled Sorento is the start of the Plan S with the full plan being rolled out early 2021 globally. The CEO says KIA will become a more Dynamic, Stylish and inventive auto maker unlike the current blah auto lines everyone has out currently. Backed by a $25 billion dollar investment, Kia will roll out 11 EVs to go along with the current ICE lineup by 2025. KIA's EV lineup will be built on their Global Module E-GMP platform. Globally Kia expects 20% of sales to be from EVs in 2025. Imagine by KIA https://www.motor1.com/news/450918/kia-relaunching-brand-new-logo/ Seems November 6th is here early as the Ford Eco Sport Active relaunch with new skin is here thanks to who ever made a mistake of posting the images online. Have to say I am not impressed with the look of this auto. https://www.motor1.com/news/450998/2021-ford-ecosport-active/

  6. I really don't do off-roading, other than the occasional gravel road, so I don't need all the rock-crawly capability of a Wrangler or Bronco... I suspect w/ the big tires and removable roof the Bronco will be loud on-highway, like the Wrangler...would be a fun weekend toy. The GC is quieter, more of a daily driver all-weather luxo-cruiser which suits my taste.

  7. See....that is my conundrum. I almost like the idea of a grand Cherokee if you are going to go a olot of different places, as it will draw much less attention. Of the unwanted sort. It is a sweet ride, despite lacking the Balthazar seal of approval.

  8. I just saw that one driving around here....you’ll be noticed for sure in one! I am considering the Sport myself, as I doubt I will be able to swing the full size one. I have a few Ford friends who got to take one up north to Michigan’s UP to test one out for camping. They love this thing..... ?

  11. Crosstrek is hot this is not. They were great little vehicles. Cut 4 cylinders off...just like GM cut two off to make the 4300 V6. And this is what will kill Tesla. The big boys have far more to invest than Tesla...and they know how to build actual cars.

  14. Torque is not an issue in semi’s, as diesels have boatloads. Range at 300 miles is far short, but I see it was coupled with an absurdly high total weight (many/most states limit semi’s to 80K... so that range number may edge upwards. But to sell to hardcore diesel loyalists, you need to talk to them on their own terms, not at a weight tier 3x what they run. Of course, and as usual; MSRP is ignored/unspecified. Owner operators face towering purchase costs with TDs; you can’t compete until you compete on the bottom line.

  15. Seems I’ve lived in NJ my whole life, highest population density in the US, relatively low percentage of EVs vs other states. Air quality is very good - excellent, and I am ‘protected’.

  16. Crazy the weight of all that steel. Course MPG is not what they are worried about. Interesting home job of iron plating, looks to be 1/2 inch thick. Crazy. Thanks for posting.

  18. Seems the DOE is going to spend $1.95 million on research by the following places as they look to use COAL for critical rare earth elements. Seems rather than burning and polluting the air, COAL has the ability of being crushed and then separating out the rare earth elements that could be used for sustainable green energy and EVs. The DOE’s National Energy Technology Laboratory will manage the projects, which will be carried out by the following recipients: Battelle Memorial Institute (Columbus, OH) BioCarbon Technologies (Missoula, MT) Concurrent Technologies (Johnstown, PA) Energy Fuels Resources (Lakewood, CO) MATERIA USA (Inwood, NY) MP Mine Operations (Mountain Pass, CA) Tetra Tech (Pittsburgh, PA) Project 1 Texas Mineral Resources (Sierra Blanca, TX) University of North Dakota (Grand Forks, ND) UPSHOTS (Forsyth, GA) West Virginia University Research (Morgantown, WV) Winner Water Services (Sharon, PA) https://chargedevs.com/newswire/doe-looks-to-coal-as-a-source-of-critical-minerals-and-rare-earth-elements/

  20. Love ranch for covering the taste of veggies, but I just do not get the Guacamole. The taste and texture of that fruit is just blah to me. Glad you love it, we all gotta love our dressings some how. My mom loves that too, says it lets the veggies speak for themselves. I will stick with covering them up with regular Ranch.

  29. This is so Funny! Watch the video in the story at the link below, the guy usually takes auto's apart and tells ya how much it will cost to manufacture. He is able to check out a Changli which is the cheapest EV in the world. Very funny video to watch. https://jalopnik.com/we-took-the-worlds-cheapest-ev-to-a-car-manufacturing-e-1845484056

Lordstown motors is also on track to begin full production of their pickup truck that is initially aimed at Government agencies, businesses and school systems that need truck handling. https://chargedevs.com/newswire/lordstown-finalizes-spac-deal-starts-trading-on-nasdaq/

  31. WOW, the first of the Chinese auto companies are now exporting EVs to Norway. First 100 are on board heading to the country that leads the world in EV adoption. Xpeng has their sites set on also selling their EVs in the America's region, but for now is focusing on delivering quality auto's to Europe as well as China. https://chargedevs.com/newswire/xpengs-g3-electric-suv-is-on-its-way-to-norway/

Me out hiking....Robert isn't the only guy enjoying Ohio fall colors. Patina, I love this. My wife, out on the trail with me.... Bringing home another big old saw to restore....this one is 2300 pounds. actually belongs to my friend Dustin. From my trip to the Corvette Museeum at Bowling Green. My favorite car of the whole bunch!

  38. Now I see this, moving under it's own power. Is the 1000HP set-up the part that's not "actually" there yet? : Can someone explain how a 14-yr old insufferable noob even has access to a C8 Corvette, nevermind the stones to put down $100 deposit / talk like he's actually going to buy a Hummer???

  39. I had a co worker with 430K on an S10 Blazer that was lifted running big tires since new....IIRC he sold it just short of half a million miles, no real issues other than suspension parts. In all fairness on the suspension parts he did wheel the truck. Was the second gen, more rounded S10 Blazer. Notice how they almost dump the 4 runner at the 9 minute mark, good wheeling video. Kind of an epic video, love how the newer fullsize Chevy and older F150 make Cameo appearances, and get to go out and play with the Jeeps. Also, the term, "I will love you till the wheels fall off" reflects how I feel about my wife. I do need to get rid of the front mount externally mounted spare tire though....she would like that. And Blu has helped me in keeping thirty pounds off...on Facebook...he jokingly told me I would never keep it off...every time I think of eating something I shouldn't, Blu's ghost shows up....reminding me of that...

  44. It would appear that New Jersey is the next state to propose an ICE ban. According to the state which did pass an emissions reduction of 80% by 2050, the state DEP has stated that starting with this year through 2025 New Jersey will need to put a 110,000 EVs on the state roads each year and stop all sales of New ICE auto's by 2035. The plan also includes having ALL Utility regulators, state agencies, county, city, etc. transitioning away from ICE auto's to EV's. The New Jersey state legislature is entertaining ways to move forward with clean energy initiatives and clean air initiatives. New Jersey has been talking with the west coast states and others that follow the CARB plans seeing the Federal EPA being ineffective at protecting the people. Question then is could New Jersey be the next state to agree to CARB and propose a ban on ICE sales as they embrace EV's and the infrastructure to support the move? https://chargedevs.com/newswire/will-new-jersey-be-the-next-state-to-propose-an-ice-vehicle-ban/ https://chargedevs.com/newswire/california-governor-issues-order-to-ban-the-sale-of-new-fossil-fuel-vehicles-by-2035/
